Remembering foods you can’t eat now

I've tried Edamame and black bean spaghetti. Hi protein, lo carb, and texture is pretty close. Helps me with my pasta fix. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app

June 2020 Sleevers, how are you doing?

And I'm currently scheduled for an ultrasound on Thursday, because I've been having pain in my upper right abdomen half an hour after eating. I know what that probably means, but hoping for the best. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app

June 2020 Sleevers, how are you doing?

So...I've had great progress so far. starting weight 308,surgery weight 288, current weight 219. Plenty of NSVs as well. Now for the downsides: in a bit of a food funk right now. It's a little hard watching my family eat things that i can't (well, really, i can probably eat some, but it would not have good results). I am deathly afraid of carbs, because that has been my downfall in the past. Don't get me wrong: i don't regret the surgery at all! Just need some encouragement sometimes....

    Am I drinking too much

I had a similar problem post surgery. After the first day or so, had no problem drinking over 64 Oz a day. My bariatric team told me not to worry about it. The only restriction I feel with liquid now (7 weeks post op) is after I eat (even though I wait an hour after eating for drinking, it still feels like the food is still there, blocking the liquid for a bit). 5. Not really, besides some 10 minute walks.
  6. Thanks for the reassurances. I did have a stitch cut at 1 week out to help drain a hematoma, so I guess this could just be because the rest of the stitches are dissolving. Haven't been cleared for exercise until next week, so I guess I'll see what happens then. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. Has anyone had this happen? Pain is more like a dull ache than anything else. Just wondering if what I am feeling is the early stages of a hernia? Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. My goal is 100 grams. I tend to supplement with protein water to make sure I hit my goal. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I may be an outlier... Started process at 308 (bmi of 41). Sleeved on 6/22 at 286. Last I weighed myself on Friday (4.5 weeks post op), I was down to 244 (after a stall for 1.5 weeks at ~250). Not saying this to boast; I don't think I'm doing anything different than anyone else. My main point is that everyone loses weight differently. I fully expect my weight loss to slow down significantly, while others' weight loss will be accelerating. 39 year old male, BTW. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. My bariatric team specifically recommends using crystal lite to hydrate if you can tolerate water. Take that for what it's worth.... Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Meals

I do 4-5 tiny meals a day, and drink a couple of protein waters to supplement. I am 3 weeks post op an in pureed stage, though... Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app

    One more day of liquids

Thanks for the suggestions. Day 3 of pureed today. So far, I seem to be tolerating things relatively well, with the exception of ground meat. The ricotta bake is really good! Reminds me of a cheese lasagna without the pasta. I have been having issues figuring out when I'm full. Guess my nerve endings in my stomach are still messed up. I don't have any warnings before feeling over full (food stuck in my throat feeling). And this is after 1/4-1/3 cup of food! Guess I have to measure my portions smaller... One more day of liquids

So, had 1 egg with a slice of cheese for breakfast. Ended up having some stuck in my throat because there was no room. The weirdest feeling... Think I'm going to have to supplement with protein water for some time still. My nutritionist wants me to try to get to 100 grams of protein a day. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I didn't have a preop liquid diet. However, I was required to loose 15 lbs from my initial appointment 4 months prior. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
