    Hit onederland!

I actually have stayed on the wagon, for the most part. I have found decent substitutes for most of my weakness foods. Will occasionally have sugar free jelly bellies to take care of my candy fix (I also use bariatric advantage multi chews for my vitamins and calcium). I make cakes out of almond flour and splenda/stevia for occasional snacks. Get my potato chip fixe from quest protein chips, and my candy bar/cookie fix from protein bars (mostly quest, but some kirkland as well). There are some things I don't think I'll ever be able to substitute, such as pizza. I've tried making an almond flour crust and cauliflower crust, and they're just not the same. Maybe after a year or 2 I'll be willing to have half a slice, I'm just scared of having anything that may end up being a slider food for me. I sometimes get into food doldrums, but they're manageable so far. We'll have to see how it works for the long term, but I am committed to making this stick. Hit onederland!

Didn't take a photo, but have my renpho readouts. Only started using it a week after my surgery, though... Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. I'm only only 5 months post op (sleeve), but I had to post this! HW 308, SW 288, and current weight 198! Yes!!! I've made it to onederland! I know I haven't had as much to lose as some others might have, but this is really exciting! Haven't been this weight since I was 14! It's been a hard road, and it ain't over yet (well, it never will be, really), but it's great to finally be here! Plenty of NSVs along the way! No more meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglycerides. No more snoring at night. Went from a tight size 44 waist to a loose 34. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app

Remembering foods you can’t eat now

I've tried Edamame and black bean spaghetti. Hi protein, lo carb, and texture is pretty close. Helps me with my pasta fix. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app

June 2020 Sleevers, how are you doing?

And I'm currently scheduled for an ultrasound on Thursday, because I've been having pain in my upper right abdomen half an hour after eating. I know what that probably means, but hoping for the best. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app

June 2020 Sleevers, how are you doing?

So...I've had great progress so far. starting weight 308,surgery weight 288, current weight 219. Plenty of NSVs as well. Now for the downsides: in a bit of a food funk right now. It's a little hard watching my family eat things that i can't (well, really, i can probably eat some, but it would not have good results). I am deathly afraid of carbs, because that has been my downfall in the past. Don't get me wrong: i don't regret the surgery at all! Just need some encouragement sometimes....

    Am I drinking too much

I had a similar problem post surgery. After the first day or so, had no problem drinking over 64 Oz a day. My bariatric team told me not to worry about it. The only restriction I feel with liquid now (7 weeks post op) is after I eat (even though I wait an hour after eating for drinking, it still feels like the food is still there, blocking the liquid for a bit). 9. Not really, besides some 10 minute walks.
  10. Thanks for the reassurances. I did have a stitch cut at 1 week out to help drain a hematoma, so I guess this could just be because the rest of the stitches are dissolving. Haven't been cleared for exercise until next week, so I guess I'll see what happens then. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Has anyone had this happen? Pain is more like a dull ache than anything else. Just wondering if what I am feeling is the early stages of a hernia? Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. My goal is 100 grams. I tend to supplement with protein water to make sure I hit my goal. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. I may be an outlier... Started process at 308 (bmi of 41). Sleeved on 6/22 at 286. Last I weighed myself on Friday (4.5 weeks post op), I was down to 244 (after a stall for 1.5 weeks at ~250). Not saying this to boast; I don't think I'm doing anything different than anyone else. My main point is that everyone loses weight differently. I fully expect my weight loss to slow down significantly, while others' weight loss will be accelerating. 39 year old male, BTW. Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. My bariatric team specifically recommends using crystal lite to hydrate if you can tolerate water. Take that for what it's worth.... Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app

I do 4-5 tiny meals a day, and drink a couple of protein waters to supplement. I am 3 weeks post op an in pureed stage, though... Sent from my SM-G986U using BariatricPal mobile app
