@Krimsonbutterflies As a single mother of two boys and the oldest being the one who has helped me tremendously during this journey - my heart is with you. Your strength is something I can only pray to have if my path was similar to yours. Keep up the good fight!

I had that feeling one day in the middle of my belly...it was so weird. It came from me trying to get dressed too fast. But I remember reading others having the same experience. I used my abdominal binder or the little heart pilllow from the hospital. Hopefully that belly band will help you. But I would strongly advise you to take it easy and give your body time to heal. If you are feeling pain your body is telling you something. I promise after 2 weeks you will feel much better but still need rest. Whenever my abdominal area starts aching I stop and have a seat. Also I was still taking Tylenol 5 days post op. My first week and half was really really tough for me. I experienced alot of pain and slept alot. Please just take it easy. You'll be up and around in no time.

I had to cross the finish line for my son, he was the person who believed in this procedure and for me getting back to healthy. In honor of our journey that we started together and to be here for my 2 year old grandson. I'm going through a lot, I mean more than I could ever imagine. I don't believe in giving up and quitting, I have to be the best version of myself as his mother and person who is going to be here to tell his son about his father's love for him.
Perseverance is my super strength for the moment. The positivity of this site keeps me motivated and forward moving, especially as a secret sleever

I think we already talked/replied to each other about this but I'm not 100% certain. Either way I'm right there with you. 16 days out, 10lbs down and stalled for the last several days. I'm just going to ride the wave. I can only eat about 1.5 -2 oz at a time so it's not my intake. We have to just wait it out.

One thing that's true for me is the 2-3 week stall. I'm not going to get my nerves in a bundle, 15 days out and I'm 12 pounds down, I'll take it. I have my ideas for this wls journey, I'm going to release control and go with the flow.

Thanks to all of the well wishers! I'm back home now, so it's Day 1 Post - Op. Got a chance to walk around twice before I left and progressed better than I expected so far.
So to give others an idea of the experience -- those who are still waiting -- I want to share the following:
My surgery was around 8:30 am -- I was the first of the day. Even though I had taken a few things with me, I didn't use any of it.
I had to wash my belly with this towel with special solution on it and I was given a shot to prevent blood clots. I was rolled in the OR where it was very bright and cold as a refrigerator! They gave me lanocane? before they gave me the profocol to put me to sleep.
My surgery took a little longer because the surgeon had to remove old scar tissue from when I had my gallbladder removed and apparently I was a bleeder, but they didn't have to give me a transfusion.
In addition to the RNY, the surgeon repaired the hiatal hernia.
The hardest part after surgery was no drinking of anything for 24 hours. They wouldn't let me use this dry mouth spray that I had. They did give me liquid Tylenol for the pain and injection shots to combat nausea.
My legs were also wrapped with this device to promote circulation and no blood clots. I didn't give a lot of sleep last night because I was uncomfortable in that bed -- not made for tall people for sure.
I walked around the corridor twice yesterday and my sister patted my back to make sure the gas broke up.
They made 8 incisions into me because of the issues I described above, and the worst pain is my lower right abdomen. It feels like muscle pain mostly.
I do have some pain in my shoulders (the surgeon told me to expect that) and so now I'm trying to get all of the liquids in. I feel like I want to clug a lug, but! I know better than to do that. So now it's on to Day 1 post op liquids, practicing my breath and walking around the apartment,

My surgery was cancelled this morning due to my doctor being ill today. I’m supposed to find out tomorrow when I will be rescheduled. Disappointed, but understand it could not be helped. Hoping for next week.

I'm 3 months post OP, and just started exercising this month. The first 2 months, I felt like all I did was take naps! LOL!! Then about 3 weeks ago my energy finally came back, and I feel like a new person!!

What a ride this journey has been. I never thought I would ever get this far and definitely not this quickly.
I have worked so hard though; was super strict on myself from day 1; I feel that is just my nature; it's either 110% or its nothing.. go hard or go home!!!
So one morning I just decided this is the day I'm going to start my diet and change my life.
I had spent the past 15+ years of my life helping everyone else in my family and ignoring my own health issues mental and physical.. I researched the surgery options and trawled this website for months whilst waiting for my surgery to happen.
I found a great doctor and surgeon and he agreed with me that the roux en y bypass was definitely my best chance at success and a future.
I took everyone's advice on board but ultimately I knew it would be my choice and my decision to change my life. I also gave up alcohol now nearly 4 years ago..
I started journey at the highest weight of 322LBS with multiple comorbidities and medications keeping me alive.
Eventually I went into hospital on October 28th 2019 and had the bypass surgery and I knew there was no turning back; its now on me to prove to everyone including the doubters I could do it!!!
Here I am 6 months and 9 days later and this morning I weighed in at 175.5LBS and I'm not sure if my body is even done yet... I've had a few stalls along the way but none longer than 1 week so I've been very lucky; I've stuck to my diet pretty religiously since day one.. I was using Protein Shakes pretty much for the whole first 5 months with some small things like yoghurt and tuna but the past few weeks I've been adding more carbs and experimenting with real foods and not being so strict but still keeping focused on my weight of course.
For the first time in my life I feel normal and I feel happy and excited for the future and I never thought I would get this far 175.5lbs is an amazing effort which equals to 146.5lbs lost gone forever in just over 6 months!!!
I hope I can show others it is possible to change your life for the better you just have to be committed, you have to be mentally prepared, you have to be doing this for yourself and nobody else!!!
I hope I can be an inspiration to others!!!
    Love Mikey

You may find that your weight is in a holding pattern and then boom! down 3-5 pounds. It can be more like steps than a constant declining slope. I find it interesting that I can see the weight loss happening (in my face, my body, my clothes), but the scale doesn't reflect that on a day to day basis. Just hang in there, it's happening!

Yeah it's frustrating. I really looked forward to excercise classes and having more energy for activities and now we are limited. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon.

Hey guys! I posted a long thread in the other March 2020 post but wanted to say hey to everyone on here also. Somebody wrote about wanting a cheeseburger and I can definitely concur. I would love some french fries and a hazelnut coffee...lol. So I definitely need to do some mental work! After surgery I'm not physically hungry but mentally is a totally different beast. After the difficulties of the past week I just want to soothe myself with food. Anybody else feeling this way?
