    Soft Food Suggestions

Thanks luv! I'm going to definitely try the buffalo chicken puree. I've never been a fan of refried beans. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  2. Thank you for all your positivity and encouragement! It means the world [emoji8]. My appointment went good. I got clearer direction on my fluid intake and realized I may be causing some of the cramping [emoji2364] by over indulging...smh. Let us know how your Appt goes. 3. Thanks Rearguard! [emoji4] That's awesome it means they are healing! Each day should be getting better. Are they achy at all? I know the incision where they took my extra stomach out of is still sensitive. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  4. @CammyC lol Yesssss to enjoying the summer! And I feel lighter and smaller. And what's crazy is how much my stomach has deflated in such a short time. I noticed my shirts aren't as tight. These little changes make me even more excited about what's coming. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  5. Hey guys! I posted a long thread in the other March 2020 post but wanted to say hey to everyone on here also. Somebody wrote about wanting a cheeseburger and I can definitely concur. I would love some french fries and a hazelnut coffee...lol. So I definitely need to do some mental work! After surgery I'm not physically hungry but mentally is a totally different beast. After the difficulties of the past week I just want to soothe myself with food. Anybody else feeling this way? Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  6. Hey guys! Wow it's been a little over a week since my surgery and what a roller coaster it has been! I'm recovering ok and am finally able to get in about 5 oz an hour. I know it should be more but this is huge for me. For the first few days drinking anything was difficult and forget about taking meds. I can say I didnt expect the contraction like spasms when I wake up and at odd times during the day. None of the videos or blog post talked about this and i thought something was really wrong. So I wanted to put it out there for all peeps on here so you wont be alarmed or surprised. I'm currently at my post OP appt and plan on asking the surgeon about it when they call me back. On the bright side my incisions barely hurt at all and moving around and getting out of bed has gotten soooo much better. What a difference a week will make! I'm down 8lbs since surgery and 23 lbs since starting the liquid diet. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  7. Hello I just received my surgery yesterday for the sleeve. Has anyone else experience when they drank water it hurt the top of their stomach. I keep getting spasms at the top of my stomach. I'm Nervous about going home if I'm unable to drink properly. I've been walking pretty often but the gas is still there. Also my incisions hurt and I tried not to take the oxycodone but the tylenol doesn't do anything. I was trying to complete the fluid intake amounts but think I overdid it bc now I cant drink anything without sharp pains. Any advice on what I can do or does this just pass on it's own? Cramping after surgery

Thanks everyone for the amazing encouragement! They have put me on an anti cramping med. I forget the name. And I am getting discharged now so I'll post later. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

  10. So I have a 38.8 bmi, fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes (barely and the number has gone down) and my insurance approved me for surgery on 3/2/20. I'm really excited but I keep feeling like like I'm not heavy enough for surgery. Does anyone else with a bmi under 40 feel that way? The crazy thing is I'm in constant pain from my joints neck and back so I'm not sure why these doubt keep coming.

What I have learned over 1 1/2 years.

Wow that is a great idea. How long after your surgery did you start? Im guessing I can wait until the first year is done and the honeymoon phase is over? Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

  14. Our surgery date is right around the corner! I'm so excited! But yeah the clear protein drinks are yuck. Well I hope your energy levels get better. I'm actually the opposite i had more energy on this diet. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  15. Mello1 you are amazing for this! Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  16. Yes 100%...I have to redirect my thoughts on an almost daily basis. I refuse to let worry or fear control me. I know this is the best decision for me and my children. I miss having the energy to be active with them. Thinking about all the physical things I'll be able to do again (hiking, volleyball, bike riding etc.) helps to keep my motivated. And as much as I abhor this liquid diet I am starting to see my energy levels go up a little and it gets me so excited! Good Luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery! Nicotine test

@JRT Mom you are absolutely correct. I had to quit smoking or they would not operate and it was extremely hard. The only thing that helped me is the cardiologist told me to go for a heart ultrasound. During the ultrasound I found out I had mild mitral valve regurgitation. It isn't life threatening but it was enough to help me quit. Now I'm on my preop liquid diet and it has been really difficult because after I quit smoking I used eating even more to alleviate stress. This entire process has been difficult. They found H.pylori so now I'm in antibiotics and I have to get an abdominal ultrasound tomorrow because my liver enzyme test numbers are really high. It seems like they find something new with every appointment! But as difficult as it has been I wouldn't trade it for the world! I count myself blessed to learn these about myself before they became really bad and I am doing something about it. Also I'm taking back control of my health and my life. It's been a rocky road but I'm sure I'll be happy on the other side of it. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

  24. Hey Lily! The front snap bra and robe with pockets are great ideas. I'm nervous about the IV line though with the robe not sure it would work. You should definitely enjoy each meal bc the preop diet is no joke. Are you able to eat a small meal on your or just liquid? Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
