    Weird Question for the Ladies...

I had a wax before surgery because I realised that I wouldn't be able to bend to get to my legs.... so glad I did now.

    Can I get an Amen?

What an absolute idiot. Spouting about something he knows nothing about grrrrrrrrrrr! Off to looky but tie me down first someone.
  3. Babysoftly

    Had to share lol...

I'm only able to sleep on my right side, not on my stomach and deffo not where my port is on the left.

    July Butterflies Master Thread

Hellooooo Can I join please? I am a July Butterfly, I got banded 10 days ago in the UK which is where I am from. I am so lucky to have had this surgery done for free over here. I have loads to lose but one day at a time to win this ol' battle. I finally was able to lie down in bed last night, it was sheer bliss lol., and I was lucky to not have any gas. I am still on liquids and will be for 4 weeks post op, so am making my own nutritious soups and they seem to be working and filling me up. Would kill for a burger though....
  6. Lol at us and the Whiny Baby Club....
  7. I had this too... don't worry you will go eventually. I don't recommend the lax.. try fruit juce. prune juice or as someone on he swears by warm apple juice. Much kinder to do it this way I think... I used the lax option....and wished I hadn't lol.

    Liver shrinking before surgery

I agree... do the liver shrinking option because I did and my liver was still too large to operate, they didn't know until I got opened up... plus they found my liver was predominately on my left side where everyone elses was on their right side You just never can tell these things. So I had to endure another op 4 weeks later and luckily it went ahead but was still difficult. If you look you can see that your liver sits right infront of your stomach so they have to prop it up out of the way... I guess the smaller the better.

    Non band fill question please...

    Non band fill question please...

Oh I agree entirely... and no I'm not scared of needles or anything. I was just curious. I only been banded for 10 days so I'm still finding my way and learning :tt2:
  11. I am 10 days post op and only last night I managed to lie down in bed. It still hurts abit to cough and OMBG! when I sneezed :tt2: Still I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now so hang on in there X
  12. I didn't cheat and when my surgeoun opened me up he discovered I was born with a huge liver AND it was on my left side as opposed to the right side  So I had to do the pre op diet for another 4 weeks... Yes it was hard going but as this is probably my only chance of good health I focused and got on with it... and when I felt like I was going to quit or crumble I remembered those horrible words when coming round... "We're so sorry the surgery couldn't go ahead" NOT NICE I can assure you. So I focused and hit the treadmill for all I was worth. My surgery went ahead but because of my problems my surgeon had allowed more time to take it slowly and he said it was still very difficult. Listen to your surgeons please. You never know if you're like me until they open you up.

    Non band fill question please...

WOW! Fantastic to all of you... well done! I asked because I am only 10 days post op and my soups are really filling me up. I'm making homemade nutritious soups and am healing nicely. So if it carries on this way I too will put off being filled if I can use this tool like this. Then only have the fills if I ever need them. I realise I am not long out of surgery but I have never in my life eaten so little and felt so good! Yaaay! Way to go us! XXXXXXXXX

    Double Surgery

Is there going to be someone looking after you two? Because you will be needing some help and if you think you can help each other up off the couch and things.... no no... too painful.

    Getting Depressed

ANY weight loss is good right?.... So keep your chin up and keep going XXXXXXXXXX
  18. It sounds brilliant I know but lol... I did 4 minutes on the slowest speed... it was all I could manage lol. Kills me because I used to be doing a mile a day before the op and at quite a pace. But I'm so determined to work at this., this is my chance and I'm going to grab it with both hands.

    5 days out and treadmilling..

Oh lordy no.... no incline lol... and it was at the slowest speed the machine does lol... but after that I was done. I couldn't have done more if I wanted to. But I figure slow and sure wins the race!

    No appettite...

I have an appetite but physically can't get the liquids in... I am 5 days out. I don't seem to have enough hours in the day to get them in now. But the cooking smells from the kitchen as hubby and daughter cook various things smell delicious. I just have to be strong and stay strong, however the hunger pangs do go after a while so I am just keeping on going.

Having to sit up to sleep...

I love you guys XXXXXXXXX Thank you so much for the support here.... sometimes you do feel kinda lonely with no one to talk to about the banding X You get scared and then come on here and realise that it's all going ok after all X
  22. Had my op on Wednesday and it is so painful I cannot lie down to sleep, I fear if I did I would never get back up again. The wound pain is horrendous. I'm guessing it's where the port is, that's the most painful one of all. It feels like a searing hot pain if I turn or get on and off the bed. Luckily I didn't have gas problems but this is so painful wondering when it will ease off and when I will be able to lie down to sleep because I am getting a sore patch at the base of my spine

Having to sit up to sleep...

I don't really I mean I have big leather soft chairs and I find it hard to not slip and slide down them... and if I can keep upright I can't get forward enough to get up if I need to  Just going to have to take my pain meds and quit my whining lol.... but it sure does help to come on here and have a little whine
  24. I can't shave my legs without difficulty and I love to paint my toenails and now can't. I have experienced every single one of those things you have all posted... the airline seatbelt not fitting, my car seatbelt not fitting, having to ask for a table instead of a booth.... and this is in AMERICA where things are bigger for us Brits. I even have to buy my clothes over there because only America has my size t shirts. My health is suffering and one final thing made me get banded last Wednesday... it was the fact that my special needs daughter loves me so much and looks up to me so much she aspires to be like me... weight an' all  I have to get thinner for HER sake if not my own. I cannot allow her to become just like me.

Having to sit up to sleep...
