  1. Confidence!! I feel so much more like myself. Before I felt insecure and I realize I had become a different version of myself when I was bigger. It’s shocking how different people treat you. I was invisible before and now I get all kinds of looks, smiles, nods, doors opened.. it’s wild! People just strike up conversation with me in grocery stores, at Doctor offices and that NEVER happened before. Also my husband asks me for date night weekly now. It’s not a dig on him, because he still took me out diligently once a month and his love hasn’t changed. But man, it’s like I’m dating my husband all over again and that is worth everything to me. I love his extra attention!

Just some things that work for me.. I track food in Baritastic app. My daily goal is protein 60-80 grams and carbs 25-30 (ish). Staying low carb is what I think keeps the weight coming off. There can be other health reasons why your hitting a stall. But great job reaching out to the doctor and getting some nutrition advice. It’s a journey and hope you’ll be over this hurdle soon!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

How is everyone holding up? Any victories or struggles to share? I had an opportunity to go to work with my husband and experience a ride along. Halfway through the day I realized that I fit comfortably in the car with seatbelt, I was able to walk/hike without being winded and my mind wasn’t obsessing on what I was going to eat next. This whole new person has emerged and I can’t believe it sometimes. 55 lbs down and just doing my best to enjoy the new journey.
  5. I’m 3 1/2 months post op. I only had 2 days of pre-op liquid diet. So I don’t remember how much I lost. I lost some but don’t count it. From surgery date, I’ve lost 54 lbs. I’m averaging about 10 lbs a month. And I’m very happy with my progress.
  6. What has worked for me: Subway -Protein Bowl Carl’s Jr. - Beyond burger lettuce wrap Panda Express - Grilled Teriyaki Chicken & veggie side Chipotle - Chicken Bowl, light beans, cauliflower rice. Any burger you can do bunless. And most Mexican restaurants can do a bowl instead of burrito.

Can I see some before and after pics?

Thank you! I have a small frame so the extra weight just really didn’t sit well. Turning 37 next week and feel like I did in my early 20’s ❤️

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Each little step is going in the right direction. Saying no to foods I used to love, cooking new recipes, and trying to enjoy the journey. I do not see the weight coming off except in my face. But today I’m -45 lbs since surgery. Clothes fit better and I’m almost 1/2 way to my goal weight 🙌🏻

    Clothes etc

I had a fat & not so fat clothing sizes that I switched out every few years. This time I’m donating everything. I don’t want just because they fit clothes. I’m working on building a simple wardrobe of only clothes I actually enjoy. Buying some more expensive items that have better durability and style that can last. I was always a bargain shopper and would buy whatever because it was cheap & fit. Now it’s my time to dress the way I always dreamed of.

    PCOS/Endometriosis

I was diagnosed with PCOS/Endometriosis before surgery. I’m only 2 months post op and have not yet noticed any relief as far as pain/symptoms go. I actually had a large cyst rupture 2 weeks ago. But, my Gynecologist is still optimistic that further weight loss might turn things around. His opinion is that it’s too early to determine if a weight change will help. But I did notice small positive results. First time in YEARS I didn’t break out in hormonal acne. My face always bloomed around that time of month and my skin is smooth and looks amazing. Ditching sugar, eating Whole Foods and limiting carbs to 20-30 a day I think is also helping. Sugar can make symptoms worse and I learned that on my own, nobody ever told me. I would of switched my diet years ago if I knew. Hopefully at my year mark I’ll be able to know if the surgery helped.
  12. I had bypass but I think food reintroduction is the same. Im over 2 months post op and lighter type foods still are my go to. It’s kind of trial and error at first. But cottage cheese, berries, avocados, tomatoes, diced lettuce, lighter cheese & turkey rolls, soups, yogurts are still my go to foods. Chicken is still difficult, so I will boil it in spices/water to soften it up. I can eat a few whole wheat ritz crackers, but other overly crunchy crackers don’t sit great. Peanut butter/almond butter must be in small doses with apple slices or celery.. that’s what works for me. Good luck on the next phase!

My family has pizza once a week. I’ve completely avoided but missed joining in at the table. Tonight I baked tofu with Italian seasoning and dipped it in marinara sauce. It was tasty & hit the pizza craving.
