This was tonight’s dinner. They are bacon wrapped chicken breasts stuffed with veggies and cheese. I started with half of one and of course couldn’t finish. It was so good though.

I've had to take Miralax once so far. Just be careful not to overdo whatever you use since there's a toilet paper shortage....

I had a gastric sleeve three weeks ago. I have to confess I have been in serious caffeine withdrawal so I went for the coffee a week ago and I am tolerating it fine. I also drink watered down diet coke which I make flat (adding Water will flatten it). No problems.

I was just the opposite. I never drank coffee before surgery but find that I now really enjoy it and now have 2-3 cups a day. I take it with skim milk and artificial sweetener. I didn't start drinking coffee until about seven months after surgery.

This is one of the many areas where there seems to be no agreement between everyone's doctors. My plan said to wait 30 days. I have a cup nearly every day since passing the 30 day mark.

To each their own. My surgeons office told all of us that after a year we could go back to drinking soda if we want, but it would stretch our new stomach over time. And gaining weight back is a distinct possibility if that happens. Soda was actually the easiest thing for me to give up since when I was diagnosed with EOS that was one of the things that raised my choking issues so I stopped drinking it for two years. Then had only been drinking it again for a few months when I started the weight loss process and I gave it up with no issue. But, not everyone is me and I realize that. If soda makes you happy then good for you. However, keep this in mind. I work with tons of people who have had weight loss surgery and the ones who've put back on weight all have one thing in common.... they drink soda.

No, I'm actually a 5'11" teacher and runner who's making it work! I just hate to see people get ganged up on, esp. newbies that don't know any better. So you're saying in 5 years out I'll have failed? LoL! Nah, I'm taking full advantage of this second shot at life by being active and treat myself once in a while. Everything else is being followed pretty much...

I'll start by saying save me the bible thumping crap about soda! I started drinking Diet Mt. Dew again recently as I'm three months post-op. I've found that getting a fountain drink and putting in lots of ice and then letting it sit for a while helps with de-carbonating it. Is there still carbonation? Yes, but it doesn't make me feel as bloated as drinking straight from a can does. I also didn't gain weight and get a huge belly as warnings have said elsewhere...I'm at 61 pounds lost since surgery and 85 since starting my program so I think I'm doing just fine. The same people who say listen to your body are the first to cast stones, but I'll say to those who have sacrificed so much, a soda won't kill you!

connect2carlee reacted to Krimsonbutterflies in Corona delaying weight loss surgery dates? Anyone?
I just spoke with a friend who has a friend going through the Kaiser Options classes (Pre-op requirement in So. Cal). All classes have been postponed and her friend was informed that her surgeries (elective) have been postponed until further notice.
I'm praying for those of you who are on the journey and awaiting your surgery. Don't forget the reason why you are on this journey and remember why you are doing this. When you finally cross the finish line, you are going to appreciate your journey even more. We are going to stay united on our journeys rather it be pre or post-op, this is a real test for each of us. Even those of us who are recently post-op, we have to assure that we stay healthy and keep our immune systems healthy. I had a post-op appt via telephone today, I have to hope that I'm doing the right thing because without direct contact with your medical team it's not clear. Hopefully we all stay complication free, hydrated and mentally healthy. There are also those who need a revision due to complications from their first procedure, the list can keep growing. This is a domino effect that we are in together.
Sending positive vibes, prayers and blessings to each of you. Practice patience and keep your peace as your guides as we navigate through this.

I went to the site. This is what it says:
    Inpatient facilities
Reschedule elective surgeries as necessary. Shift elective urgent inpatient diagnostic and surgical procedures to outpatient settings, when feasible. If your surgery requires you to be admitted as an inpatient, then it could be rescheduled. It also says that if the surgery is inpatient elective, then consider shifting it to an outpatient setting.
I already know that my procedure will be done in the outpatient surgery section which is housed in a different building that is connected to the main hospital. If you don't know if your surgery will be done as an inpatient vs. outpatient, then that would be what I would ask -- especially if your surgery is to be done within the next week or so.
Also, these are interim guidance from the CDC -- meaning that they are recommendations at this point.
Also, I think that if you have had your pre-op appointment, you should already know where to go; my hospital will call the day before for the actual time of the surgery and when I'm to show up.

Thinking of you all with your upcoming Surgeries! My initial surgery date was postponed two months due to insurance requirements. I know the feeling...but it will happen and hopefully when scheduled! Good luck to you all.
