Melanie Vandergriff reacted to ms.sss in Menstrual
Me too! A few years before surgery my period became very irregular, sometimes not showing up for months. I too thought i was pre-menopausal. My first period after surgery lasted almost two weeks. Since then, and presently (1.5 years post-op), i am regular like a clock and can pretty much predict what day it will show up....every 28 days.

Malnutrition can lead to amenorrhea (no or irregular periods.) Please go see your surgeon for blood work and your gynecologist to discuss. You can probably have both conversations with telemedicine and just got to get blood drawn. Good luck!

that's pretty common the first few months because your fat cells release estrogen as you lose weight, but yea - I think that would have stopped (and stabilized) by now. But who knows. I'd agree to check with your surgeon or PCP just to be on the safe side.

I agree that cold-turkey is the only way to go. After a while (it may be more than a few days...) the craving will subside.

Melanie Vandergriff reacted to Hop_Scotch in Sugar
I have a massive sweet tooth, best thing I have found is cold turkey. There will be a few days of horrible cravings but once that is over, things improve immensely and the need for a sugar hit has gone.
Find ways to distract yourself when the cravings hit, something that occupies your mind and hands. Make sure nothing in the house to tempt you.
I don't know how far how post op you are but maybe go back to some basics...protein, non starchy veges, etc and lots of good fluids.
