It is so weird to me that I have had zero problems drinking my 64 ozs + of Water each day, and now that I'm eating a tiny amount of pureed food, I'm struggling to get in my water. I'm wayyyy behind for the day, only 24 ozs! Why is that?

I can understand your reaction since it was drilled in your head to avoid caffeine, then they sell you a Protein Powder with caffeine. Very confusing.

Everyone is doing great! Are people who don't know you had surgery commenting on your weight loss yet? I thought for sure someone would say something at church today, but nope. I can tell for sure because I can wear clothes I haven't been able to wear in a few years. I was wearing an 18, and sometimes a 20, and now I'm wearing a 16. I guess that's just not that big of a change for people to notice, but it is to me!
My stats are up to date on my profile.

I’ve only lost like 4 lbs since my one month post-op on Jan 31. But I’ve lost a total of 16” since Jan 20. So it’s very true that the scale doesn’t tell the entire story. Lost the most inches in my waist-a whopping 3-1/2”. My exercise is cleaning and vacuuming and doing laundry. Laundry is 34 stairs up and 34 stairs down and I make 6 trips for each load.

I took a thin robe and a pair of Birkenstock sandals which is what I wear as house shoes at home. I did wear the robe over my hospital gown when I was up walking around.

So far so good! I made it a huge point to hydrate the crap outta myself and feel good energy wise. I carry around one of those Gatorade squirt bottles and it's made a HUGE difference in getting in my fluids. It seems stupid but when you have to open your water bottle every 35 seconds to take a sip it comes to pain in the ass when you're out and about. But if you have the square bottle I just took it out and would take little squirts all throughout the day. I also had a p3 pack with turkey and cheddar (husband ate the nuts) in the car ride so I'd have energy to walk the museum - hit 10k steps today already.

Kids wanted rainforest Cafe for lunch so this was my first time eating out since surgery and still on soft foods. They had an ahi poke tower on the app menu which was ahi, avocado Tomato with wonton chips and a small salad. I ate the avocado and ahi and it was perfect! Probably around 3 ounces total and I felt full but not overly so.

Tomorrow is Medieval times and I'm sure my husband will be eating most of my meal haha but if I remember correctly they do have Soup so I'll have something. I also have been carrying around those Justin's nut butter packets so I always have access to Protein if I need it.

Did the physicians in the hospital offer any clue to what caused the bleeding?
My surgeon doesn't prohibit caffeine, rather says a small amount is okay. I would definitely get a clarification from your surgery team and try to find out if caffeine was the culprit.
Sorry you had to go through that! I know it must have been very scary for you and quite perplexing since you had followed all post op rules.

Welcome. I had VSG surgery on Jan. 27th too! I just started purees Friday and so far, so good. I've had scrambled egg, refried Beans with mashed avocado, broccoli cheese Soup, and pureed sweet potato with Protein Powder. For the last two days I've had a green smoothie with Protein powder and I really think that's helped my energy.
I've lost 19 pounds so far, but I know the stall is coming....I think everyone experiences it around weeks 3-5.

I made salted caramel Protein mini-cheesecakes yesterday. It was delicious. Texture was more cake like than cheesecake, but that was OK. My stomach handled it fine, but I could only eat about 2/3 of it. I used 4 oz ramekin and the recipe makes 4. 205 calories, 13 g fat, 6 g carbohydrate, 15 g protein.

OMG, who knew it would be so hard to get back into a routine doing Pilates? I belong to a HOA and they offer Pilates and Yoga at our Clubhouse/Fitness Center. They WERE offering them 3 evenings a week plus Saturday mornings. But with my daughter's activity schedule, getting there was a challenge. Finally forced myself to start going only to find one afternoon they were cancelled. Another afternoon the classes were being taught by my new employee (AWKWARD!). The 3rd day the class was great... but again getting there was a problem. I kept trying to do it at home, but there was no space, or my daughter would "critique me", or my husband would make unsolicited comments. Wasn't working. AT ALL. I finally finished cleaning out one of my son's bedrooms. Took months to finish it. Put my daughter's gymnastics mat on the floor, with my Pilates mat on top of it for extra cushioning. Bought a new TV... just big enough to do the job, but not too big... with built in Roku. Downloaded a ton of apps and sampled the ones I could until I finally found a "channel" that I like. I also have a DVD player with DVD's... but if those are all I have I would get bored quickly. Then I deleted all the apps I didn't like (because I kept opening them and never finding what I wanted). Anyhow... even though I have done Pilates regularly in the past, I found a beginner progression series to get me going again. It is a little more talk than I like, but the teacher is doing an excellent job of describing and demonstrating every move. I am doing the beginner moves, but so much more aware of positioning than I was in the past. And I am so proud... I can do most of what she is demonstrating! Except the Teaser... OMG I canNOT do the teaser yet! It was hard before, but my abdomen is still way too weak. Despite that... For the last week I have done an hour of Pilates everyday except yesterday. Today I did it twice! It feels go good to be getting back into a fitness routine and I love my new workout room. My husband and daughter still try to interrupt me, but I can lock the door if I want to.

Feeling like there was lump of clay in your chest/stomach sounds terrible. I was a "scarfer" too, so I'll really have to be mindful. Did you throw up, or did it eventually go down?

Breakfast this morning. Another cheese omelette with a little diced spam lite in it. I am using egg beaters smart cups which are single servings. It looks big because that is a 6 inch salad plate I am using. Took me 25 minutes, but I was able to finish it.

Yes, it took about 30 to 45 minutes. I've really been working on taking small bites and pausing 30 to 60 seconds between bites. Remembering that "stuck" feeling is helping me be more mindful.

Y’all!! Someone posted the Ricotta Bake recipe on the other thread and OMG. It. Is. Heaven.
I served it over spaghetti noodles for my 10 year old and she LOVES it. This will now be in our rotation!!!

For me, it was much better 3-4 days after, but really, it wasn't completely gone for 10 days. I laughed that I had surgery because I was fat, and after surgery, I came out looking fatter! 😆It gets better!
