Tofu scramble! Half a block of tofu , mixed frozen veggies, frozen green Beans, nutritional yeast, and I will throw a handful of fresh spinach in before I warm it up for Breakfast. This will be three meals worth for me. I love this breakfast! I may also throw a few slices of avocado on top tomorrow.😀

First year out three shots of espresso on ice and 4 pumps of sugar free vanilla. I would then add a vanilla Protein Shake.
Now Venti cold brew (black) -
I am a full on vegan. I eat whole food plant based diet. I had surgery July 2020. As long as you eat your veggies n some Beans even a sweet potato they all have Protein. I have amazing blood results I only take Vitamin D and B complex every other day. I have lost 106 lb n kept it off even after recovering from a total hip surgery one year almost to the day from my sleeve surgery. You should not fear the crazy high protein. Your body will let you know what it needs. There is always Vegan Protein Shakes and you can blend some green smoothies n drink through out the day. You will be fine. I love listening to Dr Garth Davis’s lectures on YouTube. He is a vegan Bariatric surgeon. Why don’t you give him a listen. You will probably have less stress feeling after you hear him and feel more confident in the process. Good luck!

Smooth Move tea! You can find it in either tea section or health food section of some grocery stores. It has never failed me. Make cup of tea steep for 15 minutes covered squeeze tea bag n drink. By next morning or a few hours you are moving multiple times.

I have to admit I don’t like my weight right now. I was at 182lb one day of hip surgery and was back up to 195 after surgery but my surgeon said it was swelling n Water retention. I am today down to 188lb so I am going back down and there is still a good amount of inflammation on my hip n thigh so I am confident he was right. I still unfortunately see myself the same way I saw myself in the mirror at 286lb however I do know mentally I am smaller. I can wear a size 12 jeans and size large or x large shirt. I was at The Hella Mega Tour the other night and I was excited not only because of seeing my favorite but I was at the t shirt stand and for once in my life I knew I could pretty much have any T-shirt I wanted because for once I didn’t need some crazy 3x or 2x shirt n still worrying that it would not fit the way I like. I think I may never like my reflection in the mirror but I do know I am in a better place health wise then before. I am so happy for everyone. Keep on doing good and don’t be strangers 🙂

I am glade you are doing fantastic. I finally made up my mind to get the hip replacement because I could barely stand for more then a half hour without being in a lot of pain and it was effecting how much I could exercise. I was getting cortisone injections in the one hip four times a year and my other hip was very quickly because much worse so I had gotten two injections in that one as well and in January I got no relief from the injections so I said ok time to try because I didn’t go through the Bariatric surgery just to be stuck in a power chair for the rest of my life. So one year and one week later after Bariatric surgery I was in surgery again . I was scared to death. Much more scared the withe VSG surgery and hiatal hernia surgery. However I have to tell you I had the hip replacement on July 13; 2021 at 7am. I was up n walking two and half hrs later and home in my bed by 5:30 pm. I was in house Physical Therapy next day. Driving myself to PT the following Monday which was only six days later and back to work two weeks later. I only needed pain meds for two days. I used a walker for about a week maybe week and a half and Cain for another week and nothing after that. I have PT three times a week. I have to tell you this was wayyyy easier surgery n recovery then my Bariatric surgery. I ham hoping my other hip stops falling apart now that it’s not compensating for the other one. I’m 49 yrs old so not young but I would definitely say don’t fear the hip replacement surgery because you have most likely gone through rougher surgery with Bariatric. Great job so fare . It was nice hearing from you.On 08/22/2021 at 08:33, Lillimint said:
I’m glad to see this thread popping up again! I was reading it OBSESSIVELY this time last year. 😄 I’m doing well…far better than I imagined I would do. I’m still glad that I’ve done the surgery. I’m down 145 lbs from my pre-surgery weight of 299, and surpassed my original goal. I’ve reset my goal to 145 lbs, so just another 8.4 lbs to go. I honestly don’t know if I’ll hit my new goal, but I’m okay with that.
I feel good, I’m off all prescription meds, my resting heart rate is waaaaay down, and a 4-mile daily walk has become a pleasurable habit. I love that my legs look muscular, that I can shop for regular sized clothes and can tie my sneakers without a fuss.
I still am very uncomfortable with having non-healthy foods in the house, and don’t trust myself with tempting foods being close by. I worry about ‘boredom eating’ so I’m working on that. I am trying to adhere to the philosophy of making good choices most of the time. I am in the process of figuring out what “most of the time” means to me.
I’m working from home so it’s been a slow process of encountering my friends and coworkers. I can see the shock in their faces at my weight loss and just say that it’s been a ‘year of health’ for me. I am continually surprised at all the diet advice / opinions I get from people now, and so much of it inaccurate! I’ve been told that walking for exercise is useless (!), metabolism never changes (I am 55 and it most certainly has), the types of calories consumed doesn’t make a difference (I wish that was true so I could go back to eating more carbs!). It’s all stuff that we’ve all heard before. I’m thankful that I’ve had the past year to log my food and figure out for myself what works.
@IWantTheDream I know a hip replacement is in my future, and I worry about that. When did you know that it was finally time to get it done? -
How is everyone doing. This chat has been very quiet for along time. Well we are all now 1 year out. I’m doing ok. Still not where I thought I would have been but I guess it’s at least healthier. I am 101 lbs down. I still want to loose another 35 lbs but am seriously loosing hope. The scale just doesn’t want to move for months now. Very disappointing. I had a total hip replacement one month ago so I can’t really do crazy exercise right now but all in all I am doing fine. So how is everyone doing? Hopefully everyone is doing good and is healthy n safe where ever you are.

I did regret getting the surgery for about four weeks after because recovery was ruff I also had a hiatal hernia repair and my hip got messed up some how during the surgery and could barely walk on it for a week and a half. Mind u the hip was in bad shape before surgery so it didn’t take much. How ever I am 11 months out and 88 pounds down n I do have trouble digesting steak it doesn’t sit well and I really don’t miss anything and now my only regret is that I didn’t do it 10 yrs ago. Hershey Reese’s Peanut Butter cup are in sugar free ! Just so you know the sell them at target. I love just know if I really need a peanut butter cup I can have one. Good luck 🍀

I start with Water while I do a spin class then shower n make four shots of espresso with sugar free vanilla flavor and a vanilla Fairlife nutrition shake in it over ice. That will last until about noon n lunch then at around 2pm and so on.

I was sleeved in beginning of July and by August I was walking an orchard for exercise and picking peaches n Apples by September 1 and I lived on them that was my favorite thing granted it took me two day to finish an apple but I never got a leek you just make sure you chew good n listen to your pouch it will tell you if it doesn’t like something. Trust me when it happens you won’t do it again lolOn 03/30/2021 at 12:13, Nanagrrl3 said:
Today is my fourth week out and my NUT says that I am cleared for a regular diet as long as I can tolerate soft foods which I can. I told her that I ate a piece of baked chicken with the skin on it by mistake, as She says to stay away from the skin because it’s high in fat and calories. But is there any chance that I would get a leak because I ate the skin? I know I should probably ask my surgeon but I’d just like some input from anyone, because I’ve read that someone ate an apple and granola at three weeks out and it gave them a leak.

I’m nine months out and started at some 20’s and some 18’s and two months ago I dropped to size 16 however my friend gave me some jeans n most are 14 n 12 but one is a 18 and it is skin tight way way smaller everywhere the my 16’s are . So yeah sizes are different all over in different brands and it can make you feel really like your not achieving what you want so I feel your pain I do. I thought I would be in a lower size by now and am disappointed but I just keep hoping everything will work out sooner rather then later.

I am incredibly restless and antsy today. I think its because the sun is shining but its still too cold to hang out outside and I'm ACHING for summer to arrive. That and I have had like ZERO real exercise/activity in the past week cuz of a sore toe.
Sooo...decided to GET DRESSED. lol. Put on a pair of jeans (first time in weeks), did my hair and makeup (first time since xmas), even shaved my legs (first time since summer!). Put on a tube top to feel summer-y, but i got too cold soon after this pic and put on socks and a sweatshirt. Sigh.
The Kid when she saw me come out of my room in this outfit : "My, you look skanky today. I like it." She cracks me up. ❤️😂

Woah... I just updated my weight on my profile, and I knew that would put my BMI under 30, but I still cried a little when I saw 29. This is the first time in my adult life that I am not obese! I can hardly believe it!

It considered vegetarian not vegan. Vegan can not have anything that came from anything living.

Congratulations 🎊 so happy to hear that you are almost at goal and doing great. I also bought a spin bike and signed up for Peloton app I love the classes. This morning it was supposed to be a rest day because I love doing the classes so much I very rarely take a day off so I make myself take a low impact class at least once a week so I did a Disney spin and was singing the whole time lol. Enjoy your bike . # JustKeepSpinningOn 02/22/2021 at 02:03, Repeatingthoughts said:

Congratulations to everyone on all your amazing progress!! Wow! You're all doing fantastic.
I have lost 102 pounds since surgery and 124 overall, and I'm feel so good..I'm 268 now, and I hope I can get to onederland. I haven't been there since 1997! I weighed 263 when I got pregnant 10 years ago and I'm getting close to that!
At my 6 month check up all my labs were good, but most importantly my liver enzymes were close to normal. This made me so happy. Having NASH was the biggest reason I chose this surgery and I really feel good to see that it is working!

I’m so pleased to hear that y’all are doing so well, @Swjtes and @IWantTheDream! Congratulations on your progress. I can’t believe that it’s been over 6 months!!! I have also managed to drop below the 200# mark (about a week ago), and I’ve lost over 100 lbs. it’s weird to think that I’m way closer to my goal than I am to my highest weight. Does that make sense?
I’m enjoying walking every day, and I’ve even started jogging. I never thought I’d do that! I love seeing and feeling the muscles that I’m developing in my legs. I’ve heard people talking about how pleased they are to see their collar bones again, but for me I think it’s my knees. LOL!
I’m happy for y’all!Lillimint and STLoser reacted to this -
Well I have officially found Onederland! I got on the scale his morning and almost freaked out and woke everyone up when it said 198.0. Yes I did it . I have not been below 200lb since elementary school age. Crazy I know. I have found exercise I actually am happy doing and can’t wait to get out of be and do everyday. I bought a sunny health spin bike and downloaded the Peloton app and I am obsessed big time. I now look forward to waking up at 5:30 am and exercising. Wow! I still have 48lbs to hit my goal weight but I think I am just know starting to enjoy this journey. So how is everyone doing? This chat has been pretty quiet for a long while. Hope everyone is great and experiencing great things on there journey.
