    Thirty-year-old sleevers

I'm 32 and had the sleeve 1/7/20. Down 77 pounds. My first two days were very difficult, but mainly in the sense that I could not get my water down, and I was so nauseous that I was even throwing up my anti-nausea meds. I had a few hiccups, including 5 weeks post op, landing back in the hospital for dehydration but that had nothing to do with the surgery (although I am sure it was exacerbated by my recovery), and everything to do with the stomach bug my family was passing around. I got a couple bags of fluid, and was let go the same day. So far I really don't have too much excess skin, but it is early. Ideally I would like to lose another 50-60 pounds. Not sure how my skin will be then. Socially, my situation is probably a bit different than most. I work at a hospital, and my best friends all work with me. They knew about the surgery and have been 100% supportive since day one. They are used to patients of all kinds, so my being a bariatric patient was no big deal. They do razz me occasionally about how little I eat before I get full...but it is kind of comical at times, and its all in good humor. This was by FAR the best choice I have ever made. No regrets at all, never have had any.

    January 2020 Surgery Folks

I'm down 77 pounds and 7 pounds from onederland! I CANT WAIT! 7 must be my lucky number. I had stalled pretty hard for awhile, but after forcing myself to get more calories, the weight started dropping off easily. It feels so backwards to have to force myself to eat more!
  3. Ideally I would like to be 150-160
  4. I have lost 70 since surgery
  5. Nope, had it done in Missouri. I’ve felt the same way so many times. My head hasn’t caught up to realizing how much I’ve lost.
  6. Thank you! My husband’s nickname is maverick and he calls me goose 😂
  7. I don’t really have any secret. I don’t really exercise very much... bad I know... but my caloric intake is still so low my body can’t handle it very well. I push myself to get to 500 calories. I have a TON of restriction. I know I won’t forever, so I’m just capitalizing on the time I have of rapid loss. It’s definitely starting to slow down now though.
  8. Side note, anyone else on the phone app get a black box when typing so you can’t SEE what you’re typing??

I’ve stalled l for a few weeks, then drop a couple pounds overnight. Frustrating but I’m averaging roughly 5lbs lost each week since surgery so I can’t complain. I had surgery 1/7 and down 70lbs since surgery. Even when I’m not losing pounds I can definitely see it in inches and how my clothes fit!

    Stalling for TWO MONTHS.

What type of foods are you eating? I had surgery 1/7 and there is no way I can get close to 1200 calories at this point...not to mention 90 grams of carbs. I have to struggle to get 500 calories at this point.

Hey! I had the sleeve done 1/7/20. I’m official down 60 pounds! I did just come off a three week stall which was so frustrating, but then I lost 7 pounds in 4 days 😂 crazy how this works. I don’t get all my fluid, but I try to get close. Only food I’ve had a problem with are the greasy meats. Sausage, bacon, brats, etc. other than that things have been great!

    Before and After Pics

I’m still very new. 1 month post vgs, but here’s a progress picture. Nowhere near done.
  14. I had the sleeve on Tuesday 1/7. When I wake up in the morning, I feel really good. Unfortunately, the minute I take a sip of anything, that's when the stomach cramps start up. Every single sip, my stomach cramps. Doesn't matter the temp or what im trying to drink. It makes it really difficult to try to get fluids in. Is this normal and how long should this last?
  15. Just for fun, if you had a 1 week clear liquid preop diet, how much did you lose that week? Im on day 3 and its tough, but seeing the scale move is encouraging. After two days, I'm down 5 pounds. [emoji119]
  16. This may be a really dumb question but... I'm starting my preop clear liquid diet today. I have sugar free jello cups, but everything im reading online says no red coloring for clear liquid diets. Does that mean I can't eat the strawberry/ cherry jello??
