  1. I mostly used genepro and mixed it in to everything. Fairlife is the only premixed shake that doesn't make me nauseous since the surgery.

    R&Y Bypass 12/31/2019. New Year's Revolution!

Overall pretty good, happy to finally be eating solid food. I guess I thought I would lose weight a little faster so I'm trying not to let my head get in my way. I keep telling myself if I lose 2lbs a week for a year that will still be over 100 lbs. How's are you doing?
  3. If it makes you feel better I was down 14 lbs the first week but only 2 lbs in week two. I just keep reminding myself that if I stick to the plan the pounds will drop off eventually. HW-275 SW-262 CW-245

I definitely can't do really cold drinks or I can feel it all the way down. I've been using a 5 min interval timer on my watch to remind me to drink and that's been helpful getting my fluids in. I also use diluted Crystal light since water has been really bleh since the surgery. HW-275 SW-262 CW-246
  5. I had sleeve 12/31 down 16 pounds since surgery. I am praying that I get cleared for puree at my 2 week appointment, I'm so over only liquid. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

The best way to add it to warm or hot items is to make a slurry first. Just add enough water to liquify then it won't clump when you add it. Luckily someone mentioned that at my last support group before the surgery. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Have you tried Genepro? It's unflavored and doesn't change the texture of the food. I literally have been putting it in everything but my water. Herbal tea, pudding, soup, yogurt, etc. I have really big issues with food textures and it's been great. I agree that I can't handle the taste of any of the other protein drinks. They make me want to gag. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

It sounds like everyone is doing great. I'm pretty bummed that I'm still using the pain medication when it sounds like everyone was able to stop already. I've had surgeries in the past and always been off quick but plain tylenol doesn't do anything. I'm really missing ibuprofen On the positive I've been hitting my protein and liquid goals, and I pooped Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. Yesterday I actually felt like I had a more difficult time getting in the correct number fluids than day 1 and 2 as well as more pain at the large incision. A nurse I spoke with said some people have more pain etc days 3-6 so hopefully it will get better soon. I've just been adding Genepro to Crystal light to get in some protein. 10. Some people only feel good by tearing other people down and unfortunately it sounds like your mom is one of those people. They say we all have 2 families one we're born too and the other we create ourselves. People will say things like "blood is thicker than water" but I've always believed that the family we choose (spouse, children, friends) has the stronger tie. Hospital Bag

The only things I actually used were the chapstick and earbuds with my cellphone. (My roommate was a loud snorer so I listened to music while sleeping) The hospital I was at provided chapstick, lotion, socks, toothbrush and toothpaste. Changed back into clothes I wore to hospital to go home. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

My bed probably would have been fine if I had a headboard or something else to hold on to getting out of bed. It also would have been easier if my bed faced a direction so that so much pressure wasn't on the the sore side trying to get up. So while a recliner is more comfy for me I don't know if I would have went out to get one if I didn't already have one. Maybe take a look at your bed setup. Glad you're doing better Steve! I started the night in my own bed which was fabulous until I had to get up and use the bathroom then it was a nightmare. I think I'm going to stick with the recliner for 1 or 2 days before I attempt again. Otherwise I seem to be doing okay. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm happy to be home but definitely feel more bloated/gas pain since I left the hospital. Sigh, isn't that always how things happen. I was pretty lucky with pain I took the liquid hydrocodone 3x in the hospital and for me it worked well. The norco pills they gave me from home don't seem to be helping as much (maybe my stomach isn't breaking them down enough) Now I'm chilling with an ice pack in my recliner trying to decide if I'm staying here for the night or if I'm going to try my bed. I'm super tired after only getting a few minutes sleep at a time off and on in the hospital. Congrats to everyone on a great start to a new year. New Year = New Us! Other than pain at the site they removed stomach, I've been doing pretty good too. So far I've tolerated sipping vert well and have gotten my walks in without too much trouble. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
