DeadSpaceGrave got a reaction from autumnsimps in Pompeii Surgical
For anybody wanting to know I had my gastric bypass done in Tijuana Mexico by Pompeii Surgical. My surgeon was Dr.Q and I have has no problems since. I've lost 51lbs since surgery on October 16th 2019.
Their process was easy by applying for it , then getting approved to have a weightloss procedure , to applying for financing . And it was a piece of cake. I have pictures attached of my progress and my videos can be found on Youtibe under Deadspacegrave.
    Thanks.

I had surgery on a Tuesday and flew home on a Thursday. The bumping/bustling of the plan was a little uncomfortable, but otherwise I had no trouble.

You're going to have loose skin issues, no way around it if you're planning on loosing the amount of weight you want. I've already lost over a hundred pounds and have another 88 to go reach my goal and can only imagine the sheer amount of loose skin I will have. But, it's still worth it! My insurance covers skin removal after a year of maintenance so I'm not stressing about it. It's annoying, yeah, but trust me you'll be so much healthier after loosing the weight! The two areas that bug me most are my upper arms, and the loose skin on my chest area a bit under my armpits (where your bra rests). I had a co-worker of mine suggest shapers as she had gastric bypass and she said it helps a bit with the loose skin issue and said it even reduced hers over time. She said the body suits with hooks in the front are best as they fit tighter and that's what you need. I figure I'll look into that eventually, but I've yet to do so...

You look amazing! What you are doing is obviously working. Keep up the good work!!
I only had my bypass done in March, but in 2013 I had a sleeve done. By 6 months I had lost 80lbs. But again, that was a sleeve. Bypass may be faster.
Also, to echo other comments, it all depends on the person. You’re young so it will come off faster. Lucky!

    I had my RNY back on October 16th 2019 and I started at 256lbs now I'm 170lbs.
But my average monthly loss is roughly 17 pounds a month. Is this good or average ? My goal weight is 150. And I'm almost there. I am also 5'9" .

Dont worry , I'm just now breaking a month long plateau. What I'm doing that helps is walking outside around the neighborhood twice a day to get into shape . And I check my weight twice a day as well but I'm not crazy over the scale.

I don’t know what to say exactly. Whatever your fears regarding Covid-19 it shouldn’t alter your healthy way of eating post gastric bypass. There are plenty of options that do not need to be “fresh foods” to keep on hand that are bariatric friendly, low carb and low sugar for meals. I managed to get eggs, yogurt, I have Protein Powder, Protein Bars, a few Protein Soups, I also have frozen foods I tend to buy vegetarian frozen foods. But depending on your stage there are options. Unopened cottage cheese and yogurt stays fresh longer check dates. You can buy canned Proteins like tuna, chicken, etc. frozen vegetables. No reason to just stock up on carbs.
Also try to find things to distract from worries besides food. If you are safe at home just try not to worry. @AJ Tylo is right there is nothing we can do to change the course of this. I’ve immunodeficiency and lifelong chronic illness and I can’t stress over this. I’m just doing my best to stay on track with what I can. even though I’m dealing with my own personal issues despite everything going on out there.
Even though it’s hard as life gets thrown into a strange situation that’s new to you just try to take it one moment at a time and be grateful you are healthy and alive.
I can’t play psychic as people seem to like to and say it’s gonna get better, just take it in the moment. And find things to occupy your mind. Get on track with getting hydration, and protein and don’t fall for carbs or comfort foods just because you think it will make you feel better. There are many other things you can do to find comfort and solace and distract your mind to feel better even if it’s just binge watching a really good tv show or taking a long walk alone in nature ... you don’t need a gym for that or to be around other humans either.
side note if you can’t exercise compensate in other ways. I can’t exercise due to my chronic illness and disability. I follow a low carb way of eating, and calorie counting. But honestly even now you can find ways to get in some exercise, at home, alone in nature, etc. get creative ...
