The next time he says that, tell him"well there are a lot of men who are". Idiot.

I agree...but I think as the tone increased..my concern is that his valid points would get lost. And his main reference/issue, as you mentioned, was one poster...I think.
I think there are all sorts of ways to inquire/ask someone to give their supporting data if they are seeking help with it like...hey, post your menu for the past week or for the day, etc. - if the poster truly wants help with that, then hopefully they will post.
If burn rates are being questioned, maybe ask how that is being reached..I was genuinely curious...but some ppl shut down completely, not always because they don't have the data to back things up or have calculated incorrectly. Maybe I'm deceiving myself....that could very well be true.

Maybe I'm getting Fatboyslim wrong but I don't think he denies these things. He just seems to say that the TDEE Serengirl claims/thinks to have is too good too high to be true and therefore she's losing the weight not as fast as she "should" according to the calculations she made.
When people are losing weight rather slow it's because their TDEE isn't very high - for whatever reason.

Sorry, but No.
You are not a slow loser. You have lost 129 lbs in 12 months. You are a perfect example of how wonderfully this system works. The OP and others who obviously DO NOT FOLLOW THE PLAN state that they do "follow the plan" and can not lose weight, or even worse, put on weight. They then push this self fulfilling failure in a manner that makes people think that WLS does not work.
There is far to much good to be had with this type of surgery and follow through, to allow it to be muddled with absurd fake news about how weight loss does not run parallel with CICO.
The Slow Loser concept is a myth. You seem to be a perfect example of that. Congratulations!

Eat less calories , because it is the ONLY THING that controls your weight +/- a small percentage.

Ok, get ready to scream. I believe the above is the kind of post that causes harm to all of our chances, as it quite frankly clouds the simple science of what we all attempting . The statement that one can run a 3000 calorie a day deficit for weeks and weeks and not lose a pound is simply ludicrous.
Call the CDC and donate your body to science. Call CNN and tell the world how you have changed the fundemental laws of physics, nature and energy.
But please dont go on a web forum that is full of people tying to make their lives better, and make them think there just might be some reason, other than eating too much, for why they are not losing weight, and even worse, gaining weight.
Sure steroids make you hungry (which means you eat more) and Water retention Adds temporary weight, but to portend that you for some reason are exempt from all known and logical facts is not doing anyone any good. Especially you.
feel free to scream away.

Of course you are free to say anything you want, so say it. Post your stats and timeline. Post what you ate per day for the past 5 days so we can see how our diets compare, to help us all be more successful.
my diet is pretty easy and does not deviate
morning: 100 calories of egg beaters with a little grated cheese.
snack: 30 gram protien shake 120 cal
lunch : tuna or chicken with Tomato 120 cal's+/- (If I am out, I usually get half a sub with no roll or dressings)
dinner : 4oz fish or chicken with a few veg - 150 cal's+/-
snack : 30 gram protien shake 120 cals
one Apple per day : 100 cals.
basically 700-800 calories per day, and rather boring.
Losing a pound a day, priceless!

I appreciate your perspective.
From being on BP for clearly too long, I have seen two things repeatedly from self diagnosed "slow losers"
Many "slow losers" latch on the the 60 lbs in two months and believe that is the norm. I wouldn't even say that is dysmorphic or self defeating, it's just illogical (or maybe pity party-ish?). Any information outside of those few outlier posts would tell them it's not the norm, but yet they persist in labeling themselves despite losing at an average or even above average rate.
Many "slow losers" at first claim to follow plan perfectly, have huge calories deficits etc.. But then when questioned it often comes out that they aren't logging, or logging inaccurately (or maybe believe their metabolic burn rate is higher than it is in he case of @Serengirl)
I do believe in CICO as a general rule, but know there are tons of astericks and fine print. There are stalls and set points, there are medications, and hormonal issues, and a slew of other things that affect the "calculation". But at the end of the day all weight loss is due to burning more calories than you take it.
I have an issue with @Serengirl statements like "I can eat consistently in the mid 600's, Protein around 90, Water over 80oz and i workout hard at least an hour 6 days a week and i can lose - NOTHING. ZILCH. NADA" That is untrue over any sustained amount of time for the vast, vast majority of people. I think posting that information is unhelpful, and needs to be contradicted. WLS is hugely successful for most people. I wouldn't want anyone researching WLS to see that and decide it's not worth it from posts that have a significant negative bias.
As I stated I have no doubt there are actual slow losers, the bell curve and all. But it seems that many people put that label on themselves and persistently defend it, despite evidence to the contrary.

I agree completely that you can burn 2100 calories per day on top of your standard 1900+/- daily burn.
in fact there are a few Olympic trained athletes that can actually do that, but not every day. So what you must be doing is marathon running at least 20 miles every day, and on the "off days" mountain biking for 6 plus hours! Then in your spare time do just regular stuff to burn the daily 1900+/- metabolic norm.
clearly I can now see that you don't intend to post false information, you are just really really confused about CICO. I don't mean to be disrespectful when I say that, I think you need to look at the reality of what you said, and how that horribly wrong statement and associated concept may be affecting your progress.
luck!

@Serengirl - by the way, CONGRATS on this!!! I went on a Christmas cruise....and on some days I stuck to my plan and on a few, I did not..just being honest.
I was terrified when I got back that the scale would show at least a minimum 5 lb gain but more likely 10 lbs...my ankles and calves were so swollen, I think there must have been way too much sodium in the foods I was eating.
What I didn't factor in though is the WALKING! ALL OF THE WALKING! Whether down the long boat ramp, back and forth across the ship (on purpose and sometimes on accident when I got lost..lol)...getting to excursions, going on mainly snorkeling excursions and I am a very very active swimmer despite my weight so I was not slowly snorkeling along...I was on hyperspeed!. Ended up walking almost 4 miles each day at least....only reason my knee held up when it cannot hold up past 2.3 to 2.5 miles when hiking is because the walking was divided out across the entire day AND night (yes, we stayed up late..lol).
I came back to a total of a 1 pound gain and within 2 days, that was gone. This has been so unlike my annual holiday gain of at least 10 lbs EVERY SINGLE year for the past decade or more (Thanksgiving, Xmas and New Year's). If I had not been on the cruise or RATHER, if I had stuck just even a tiny bit more to my plan (not like there is not enough variety on the ship to be able to do so), I would have come back to a loss but I'm not getting to fret over it.
I'm taking the 'win' of just the change of being ABLE to do all of the activity I did! I would NOT have been able to do it without the weight I lost before and after surgery. Even if I go down to only losing 5 lbs a month...I would NOT trade what I've done for anything...and as I find new ways to be active that don't blow up my knee, I plan on aiming for 7-8 lbs a month...but doing what others have said and watching for the non scale victories.

So look, it's an awesome esoteric notion to debate.
But here's the bottom line. Your body will only allow you to lose weight at X speed at any point in time. It's based on MANY variables and it's highly individual.
You can spew TDEE and CICO stuff out the watoosie. Seriously. And you can rationalize which side of the fence you sit upon. And argue it all day. (ty confirmation bias) But all you're doing is waste energy doing it that could be spent in a better way--like loggin your food so you ACTUALLY have data to help you see where and how you need to trim the sail.
But. And it's a big BUT! The bottom line is...if you are not consistently losing weight week in and week out--ESPECIALLY in the early days then you have a problem and it MOST LIKELY resides in how much you are eating or what the "mix" of macros is, OR WHEN or HOW OFTEN you are eating. And that is based on so many personal factors: health, medications, age, hormone status, activity, how much LBM you have to burn, the rate of your metabolism prior to surgery and how much you were eating before surgery versus now PO, allergies, metabolic flexability, etc! So. MANY. Variables!
And that is in the absence of stalls...cuz they are a real thing and last as long as they last.
We are all unique. Wonderfully so. And the average weight loss post surgery is 2-4lbs per week early on.
BUT, usually when the scale isn't moving, then the measuring tape is! So, it truly is ONLY a stall if there has been no movement of the scale or measuring tape. Some docs say it's only a stall if you meet that criterion PLUS it lasts longer than 3 weeks. Otherwise it's not a stall.
After losing almost 160lbs...I will honestly tell you, the times I "stalled"=slowed down were the times I wasn't behaving or logging my food accurately--or--OR, I was in the last 20lbs of weight loss. Those pounds were infinitely difficult to lose.

It's a valid fear when you look at the statistics. However keep in mind not a single person who has gone through WLS since it was originally invented, failed unless they simply ate too much.
Probably most of us got to an unhealthy weight becuase we drew off of our childhood eating habits, aggravated by today's corporate food pushing culture. We were never really taught how to eat well, over an extended period of time.
We have now been given an opportunity to begin again, and much like everone on here can probably learn any new skill for a job or hobby, we have to use this opportunity to learn new eating skills. After that, it's just a matter of being an expert at your own nutrition.
People learn new skills all the time. Kind of like "don't put your hand in a hot stove". It's up to each of us to learn, the just follow through. Hopefully if we keep this in mind, we won't be mere statistics.
luck!

Maybe it's just a sign I've been on BP too long, but over and over again I have seen people complain that they are slow losers, but are actually just average or even fast losers.
How much of THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB is actually the Unrealistic Expectations Club?
I'm not at all saying there aren't slow losers. Life is a bell curve, and there are half as many people on each end. But I think the attitude displayed by those like @FluffyChix, @Cheeseburgh and others are what make the difference. I mean even for slow losers, isn't weight loss the fastest after WLS then any other "diet"? Even most slow losers get to -100 lbs or more in a year or so.
I just think labeling yourself a slow loser can be self defeating at times and seems very dysmorphic at others.
