It’s because it’s extended release and you are used to the IR adderall. I complained at first when I switched to extended release adderal. You never feel it “kick in” but over time you will realize it is working you just have to get use to the difference.

if you're following your plan, then it's just "the three week stall". The vast majority of us have our first stall within the first 4-6 weeks after surgery. It's so common we give it that name! (it usually happens during the third week...but not always. Mine was weeks 2 & 3)

Hello everyone, I had surgery on 7/16 and was fine up until week 3.5 to week 4. I wasn’t able to get my Water in or food down without throwing up. So I called my surgeons office and went it. Where my lapband was had become extremely tight and was not allowing anything to go through. So I was scheduled to go in the next morning which was last Thursday to have an EGD with a ballon stretch in the area where the issue was. I now can eat about 6oz of food before I feel satiety. I am worried it was over stretched. I am not losing any weight. I am very concerned I am eating to much. It is low fat and low carb meals and of course Protein first. I am still adhering to the no drinking with meals and waiting to eat 30 minutes after drinking and waiting to drink 30 minutes after eating. I am just looking for input and opinions on what I should do.

I'll add that bypass eliminated my type 2 diabetes right away!

i'm having to make the same decision right now. Surgeon suggested bypass but I went to him for the sleeve. I've had friends who've had success with both. The most I can figure is below from my own anecdotal research
    Sleeve
Good for the most obese patients because it's an easy surgery for them to get through - They do the sleeve on 600 lb life
Bad if you have GERD and you can get GERD after this due to the stricture
Bad if you are a chronic overeater
People that don't resolve their eating issues end up stretching the sleeve and getting bypass anyway
All Calories and Vitamins get absorbed

    Bypass
Good if you have diabetes, cures it in one day
Complex - intestines are rerouted, more complex surgery
Good if you have other co-morbidities
Slightly better weight loss sustained over the long term (more stats though)
Gold Standard - Who knows what this means it's just been around longer
Malabsorption of calories and vitamins means you will have to take vitamins every day but good news ,many calories you eat are also not absorbed.

My pcp and my good friend say sleeve is for me and my surgeon and therapist are recommending the bypass. I think you have to be really honest of how you got overweight.

I am not a person that overeats. I'm obese and my body likes it there even when I eat 800 calories. That is why I'm leaning towards bypass although I'm dreading having to take a Vitamin every day. If I was a severe overeater I would do the sleeve. That's just what I'm thinking now.

RNY is the best I'll be 4 weeks out Monday..
Down 25lbs since surgery and 90lbs since I started my journey.
30lbs from my dietitian goal but could possibly lose 40 if I really work hard

I'm almost 5 months out from rny and I'm down 112 lbs since pre surgery. I have zero regrets. I am in love with the person I'm becoming. Good luck!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my message, it's the first time I've ever asked for help but I'm so glad I did because I don't feel so alone now.

Anything distilled has the least carbs and calories (gin, vodka, tequila, etc..).
It's the mixers that you need to be wary of.
Best bet is to drink it straight up OR ask for it with either Water or soda water (NOT tonic water, lots of cals) and add lots of lime or add a couple drops of sugar-free water enhancers.
Very dry wine is relatively low in carbs and cals too.

You should pack a couple bottles of mixer like: Skinny Girl mixers also Baja Bob's. Then you could always order a shot over ice and add your mixer. They have all kinds!

I'm going on my first vacation since my vgs surgery and it's an all inclusive resort. Are there any low calorie cocktails that I can drink? This will also be my first time drinking alcohol since my surgery 6 months ago-a little nervous and excited...
