The surgeon sends everything in to the insurance company when it is all completed and they are requesting a prior authorization. If insurance decides they need further information, they contact the surgeons office.

I just want to take a moment and tell all of you who are struggling and off work and the family stress from this Calm down.
And why do i say this? Simple As a medium size business owner who pushed himself so hard and stressed out 8 years back! So what happened to me?
I ended up in Naples Community Hospital Cardio Ward laying on a table and wondering if i would ever see my kids again, who would take care of my parents, who would get the kdis thru college. You get the point
I am telling you all this as a survivor of stress! Stress Kills and during these times do what i am doing! Focus on your health - Its free. Help those who are having problems cooping with these times - Its free! Look around the house and finish a project that you started and have not finished. Turn off the dang TV!
I played Monopoly last night with my two teanagers, Was a blast. No Tv No PHones -
I currently am losing about 8-15k a week in my business, I will survive this - But one thing for sure I will not let the stress of it Kill me! Been there got a break once, No reason to chance it again

    These are the facts
    Waking a sleeping Giant.....
The reports are that the truckers are getting supplies to the stores.
People are stocking the shelves all night and letting old people shop first.
Carnival Cruise line told Trump “We can match those big Navy Hospital ships with some fully staffed cruise ships”
GM said hold our cars and watch this; we can make those ventilators where we were making cars starting next week.
Women and children are making homemade masks and handing out Snacks to truckers.
Restaurants and schools said, We’ve got kitchens and staff; we can feed kids.”
Churches are holding on-line services and taking care of their members and community.
NBA basketball players said, “Hold our basketballs while we write checks to pay the arena staff.”
Construction companies said, “Here are some masks for the medical staff and doctors”.
Breweries are making sanitizer out of the left-over ingredients.
We thought we couldn’t live without Baseball, NASCAR, NBA or going to the beach, restaurants or a bar. Instead, we’re trying to keep those businesses open by ordering take-out.
What communist China didn't count on was America saying "Hey, hold my beer and watch this."
I think a Japanese Admiral in the middle of the Pacific said it best in 1941, "I think we have awakened a sleeping giant."
Give us a few more weeks (maybe months) and we will be doing much better! Look at your community and the activities going on!

@doublepau I know it can be somewhat controversial and some don't agree with them but my surgeon's office is actually very "for" them. I use the multi Vitamin Patch. One a day. And then I take 1 pepcid a day. Once I am able to get things down better, I do plan on taking regular ones along with the Calcium and all that, but for now I'm sticking with the patch.

So kinda funny story. On my surgery day, I had to be there at 8:00 and surgery was scheduled at 10:00. They had me in a room in gown, IV placed, vital signs taken, questions asked and ready to go by 8:45. A little after my surgeon came in a "little early" for any last minute questions and after her, anesthesiologist came in with consent forms. So now it's 9:30 and I had 30 more minutes until "action". The longer I laid there, the more nervous I got. They didn't end up getting me until 10:30 so now I'm a nervous wreck. They take me to the OR room and had me scoot over to the operating table. The nurse (I think) had told me they would be starting meds in about 5 minutes but would be getting prepped and blah blah. I had a serious bout of nervousness then and I told her I think I'm not going to do this. Can I get up? I'll just walk out. I'm not ready for this! (I was so nervous) I even tried to sit up. I heard her whisper to some guy that was behind my head out of my vision to start the fentanyl "right now" and then she got right in my face and said No!!! You are not walking out of here! You have worked too hard on your pre-op diet and you made a good decision to do this...... And that's all I remember. I woke up later in recovery. I just thought it was a little funny and I'm very thankful for whoever that person was cause I was ready to run out of there!!!!

@lisafrommassachusetts downward indeed!! So I wonder when or if it will stop being such a struggle to get the liquids in? I will have to try some tea and look for the Hint Water. I've tried a couple of brands of chicken broth and it's a no go for me. I don't know why but I struggle with getting it down. Last night was my first at home and all though it is absolutely nothing fancy, I loooooove my bed. Lol. The hospital bed was very uncomfortable. I finally switched with my husband and slept in the recliner they had for him and that was much more tolerable. Anyways, I'll stop so I can go sip some more lol

So they told me I didn't have a regular hernia. I don't remember what kind it was but it's something that you are born with and it comes out through the diaphragm. She was very surprised to see it because she said that normally they are fixed as a baby because they are very dangerous. She also told me that since it was so close to my stomach she couldn't use "mesh" on it like she normally would to help support it so maybe that's why mine hurts so bad. I will say I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. I have four children and had them all naturally.
I haventHad any issues with my new stomach though Water just goes right through so I hope that stays the same.

Hey everyone. After 3 nights in the hospital, I just got released. My vital signs went to normal and my white blood cell count went back down so they're pretty sure I don't have a leak. For the past day I stopped taking any of the narcotics that was offered me cause I would be so drousy and not drink. So then they offered me sugar liquid Tylenol. Y'all it was the most disgustingest (I know, I made up that word) thing. They also called that into the pharmacy for me. I don't remember who was asking about sugar free liquid Tylenol but I would call your surgeon and see if they could send a script in for you.
Anyways, like I was saying about not taking the meds, I definitely very sore. My surgeon originally told me recovery would be like when I had my gallbladder removed which was a very quick recovery but I guess from the added hernia repair it's just not happening. It hurts to do anything! If I'm still, I'm fine. As soon as I try to move in any direction I feel like I've been hit with a train. I'm just telling myself this won't last forever.
So now to the struggle of getting all of my liquid in. I can already tell it's gonna be tough but I've got to do it.
I hope everyone else is doing well!!

@lisafrommassachusetts you are so right. And I will try to remember that. That’s good to hear about the pain and mobility since I really struggle with that. And I have decided that my children are one of my biggest motivating factors for this surgery. They eat and drink unhealthy stuff just like I do but I never want them to have to struggle like I do. I have a family history of this and if that cycle is going to be broken then I will need to do it. I don’t want my children to struggle with all of the issues that come with being morbidly obese ever! So I am making it my mission to teach them healthier ways. Anyways, I guess I needed to type that out to remind myself of one of my biggest reasons for going through this. Lol
