    friends?

This fear is one of the reasons that I told very few people. My closest 4 couple friends, 4 people at work and my parents/sister/wife. That's it. No one else needs to know. That group gives me all the support I need. I don't need people telling me what I can and can't eat. In fact I'm going to actively avoid most office food stuff now - pot lucks, xmas parties, etc. At least for a year or so. I avoided them before but because I was fat and ate too much so at least it won't look different haha

I HATE I GOT THIS STUPID SURGERY!

I don't want one over-reactionary post scaring someone one of surgery. Just offering opinions on both sides.

    Protein Powder

Unjury unflavored has been pretty good to me in recipes thus far. Granted it's been pudding and jello so far lol but it's been good!

I HATE I GOT THIS STUPID SURGERY!

Don't worry about it, we seem to get trolls around here that complain a lot. Yes, some people have issues but if you're mentally prepared you'll do fine!

I HATE I GOT THIS STUPID SURGERY!

No need for you to be an ass. With an attitude like this you're bound for failure after this surgery. He made a good/correct point - did you see any type of mental health professional before the surgery?
  6. So I'm just ahead of you in the process - I'm 2 weeks 4 days today. And like you I had no issue getting water and yogurt down - even 4 days after surgery I was getting 64 oz in just water, not to mention my protein shakes. But then came week 2 when I started soft foods and I couldn't eat a whole scrambled egg. Then the next night I barely finished my 4 oz of chili (which was mostly 3 oz of chili liquid and 1 oz lean beef). I wondered the exact same stuff you were but trust me, the restriction will come. Just stick to your plan. And don't worry about the weight stall when you start soft foods. I just hit it and got over it (I think and hope). BTW we'll have to chat about Australia sometime soon. Wife and I are thinking of going there and NZ in May for our 10 year anniversary!

    Soft food diet

Eggs, chili and ground cooked meats have been my go to so far.
  8. That's fair. I was only basing it on some of the things I read on the forums here.
  9. Not in Florida but plenty of people, including myself, are here for you! Just had mine done on Oct 22. You'll do great!
  10. Isn't this the guy who screwed someone out of a free lapband? And then moved from TX to IL to NM? And has been accused of doing surgeries on people who shouldn't have had them?

    Egg

Welcome to the egg club lol! I had one Tuesday night, got down almost 3/4ths of it. I think you drank the vitamin too quickly after eating and your stomach was still full. Not supposed to drink anything for 30 mins after eating.

    Over Night Stay

I had one for my sleeve, just had to ask for it in the hospital.

    Post-op weight loss expectations

This is good and fits with what I was hoping for, thanks!

    Post-op weight loss expectations

There's actually more and more research showing that those who weigh themselves often, even daily, do better and keep the weight off longer. Google it, you'll see lots of info and data. Thank you for your weight loss stats. I hope this is the 3 week plateau I hear about. And I wish I could follow your advice and just forget food. But I enjoy food and I don't plan on giving it all up forever. I'll work and eat within my limits. I hope that it's never uncomfortable for me to eat, otherwise I'll regret this surgery no matter how much weight I lose.

    MEN 300-350 LBS WEIGHT LOSS

Checking in to eventually add more to this topic. Only had my sleeve just over 2 weeks ago. Was 327 on surgery day. Picked 220 as an arbitrary goal. I looked very skinny at 250 around 7-8 years ago.

    Head hunger post op!!

Had my surgery on the same day as you and I totally understand! Going to the grocery store is torture for me. Luckily I didn't have a special pre-op diet other than clear liquids the day before surgery. Peanut butter has been my savior as I've transitioned into the soft food stage. Just a nice teaspoon of crunchy PB has been great. Stick with it, it gets better!

    Over this preop diet

Wow. My pre-op diet consisted of 1 day where I was doing clear liquids. Sucks but get used to it!!

Help! In Terrible Need of Positive Vibes

Kill em with kindness. Make sure they know their relationship with you isn't built around food.

Fkn up Already - 1 week post op

OP - Honestly, and this might not go over well here, but please leave this forum if you're going to continue to be this negative. Go get help from your surgeon, your nutritionist and your psychologist (and I hope you had one as part of this process because it seems like you need one). I had surgery 2 weeks ago. I had no nausea and never vomited. It means nothing. I couldn't fathom eating such fatty soup (not to mention the volume) or a breadstick (!?!) 1 week out.

    Gastric sleeve journey

Posting so I can follow when I get to that point! My sleeve was just 2 weeks ago and I had my first soft food (3/4 of 1 egg lol) last night!
  21. We had surgery the same day! I'm doing well, I think. The last 3 or 4 days though I've had headaches. I'm getting my 64 oz of water easily and at least 60g of protein daily so not sure what that's about. Anything to worry about?

    Dairy reaction

I was strictly told to avoid caffeine for at least 6 months after surgery. I've been having a yogurt almost daily for over a week, no issues. Hope it gets better for you!

    Sleeve with Diet Pills?

My doc has been known to put patients on phentermine after surgery to get through plateaus.
  24. I'm so with you ChubRub. I told my manager and my close group of friends, maybe 10 people total. My immediate family and my wife. Work wife as well. But no one else at work needs to know.
  25. 2 weeks post-op today for me, was back at work the Monday after my surgery (on a Tuesday). Haven't really felt much fatigue or anything. Different for everyone I guess.
