  1. I had my surgery on March 19th. That evening the nurse came in and said no visitors after 5 Pm due to the Virus the hospital had updated their policy. I was lucky I had gotten the hotel room for 4 days instead of just the two days. My husband was able to go back to the hotel and spend some quality time with my daughter. Reston Hospital was wonderful. The whole staff was great!!!! Dr. Pysher was awesome. She visited me several times in my room and she called several times also. When I was discharged, she gave me her cell phone number and she called every day for the first few days after discharge. I had a great experience and no pain, a little discomfort. They gave me a block and then controlled the pain with tylenol. I would highly recommend Reston Hospital and Dr. Pysher.

    3 weeks in!

I know what you mean. I gained 3 lbs last week, but then I read the article posted in this thread about stalls and it all made sense. I did check my measurements and I have lost 18.5 inches so far. NSV. My husband tells me to stay off the scale, but it is so hard.

    3 weeks in!

I just completed my third week after RNY and I lost 13 lbs. I have not lost at all my third week, I actually gained a pound. The weight will come off.
  4. I had my surgery on 3/19. I went in at 7:30 AM, I had extensive adhesions so my surgery was twice as long if not longer than expected. I was discharged the following day at noon.
  5. I had surgery on the 19th at 7:30 am and I finally started to fart around 4 pm on Friday the 20th so a day and a half after surgery.
  6. For those who had Robotic Gastric Bypass, how many days did you stay in the hospital including your surgery date? I was told if all goes well and I am scheduled for the surgery in the AM which I am scheduled for 10:30 am, I will be discharged the next afternoon as long as I am keeping fluids down.
  7. Great to hear. If you look at a diagram of the abdominal organs, you will see that the large colon has a pretty sharp curve where you are describing. You could have a gas bubble caught there and it could be moving around when you are walking, or you could be having an issue with constipation (depending on the kind of diet your doc had you on preop), there is also something called an ilius, which is a type of obstruction that happens after surgery which usually passes on it's own. Try gentle rocking to see if you can pass some gas. If it does not ease up by tomorrow with walking and gentle rocking to pass gas, I would call my doc to be on the safe side. They know everything to expect and they know all the symptoms. Good luck.
