I’m truly disappointed in my lack of lost. Been stalled for 11 days now. I’m getting in at least 50-60 ozs of Water and 60 grams of Protein. It appears I’ve lost some inches but not much. Was really looking forward to a little reward after what I’ve been through. Feeling like the most unluckiest girl ever.

I had surgery on Monday too! *highfive*

I also feel like I am able to drink so much more than others.. I was so worried it would be a tough task to get down my 60g of Protein but I have been able to get it down with no problem. I am supposed to be taking in 100ml per half hour, but earlier I think I took in 300ml just by miscalculating the time and what I had already taken in. I also caught myself after taking a big swig of Water (I use tiny cups currently to help with that), but no harm has seemed to come from any of it.

Surgery twins now that I have a New Surgery Date!! 🙏🏼😀
Well I went to my follow 2 week Post Op today..it was suppose to be a revision but could only remove the Lapband due to scar tissue...
I walked in the office today and the Surgeon says he was “so sorry he couldn’t do both surgeries at same time.”
“How does April 7th sound for your gastric bypass?”
YES!

I am so glad to hear April is you month. May date is the 7th of April 4 days after my 56th birthday. Happy Birthday to me...This is my gift to myself. I can not wait. I am in Michigan started the journey in May of 2019. Due to my insurance I had to go 6 months in a row with missing any appointments. on my last appointment I gained some weight so they gave me another month, to make sure I was living the bariatric life style...so I did good in November lost 11 lbs. my next goal was to stop smoking which I did (happy dance) and now I have to be 3 months smoke free, hence my date in April. I am very excited to do this I am dragging along so uncomfortably right now... let's do this!!!!!

Very, very bad night. Felt like someone was holding a propane torch right up against my lower left front rib. The nurse gave me liquid hydrocodone and it didn't phase the pain. So next he gave some morphine to me with no relief. Last 2 hrs later he gave me Dilotid and Regilan or something like that, wow worked like charm.

Those 3 months will pass quickly. I know that you must be disappointed but you have to believe that the surgeon knows best. You definitely don’t want complications if you can help it.

Hi! Happy New Year!
I was banded in 08. I have had problems with throwing up and slight slippage that showed in a upper Gi. The other test was an Endoscopy that showed mild esophaguses...
so insurance approved a revision to gastric bypass.
I just got home from the hospital and so bummed that the surgeon decided it would be best to do the bypass in 3 months....😩
I feel great, no problems with removal..

Is there anyone with a VSG or RNY surgery date at the end of February? My band has been out for about 3 weeks. Feeling good that I made it through the Holidays without gaining any weight. I have been trying to stay within the eating restrictions I had with the band for 14 years. Post op has been much better than expected. I must admit it has been a bit liberating to eat without restriction. I really appreciate the recent posts and comments on the complications with GERDS and acid reflux with VSG. They confirmed our decision to change course from VSG to RNY, because of my history with GERDS and acid reflux with my band. My by-pass surgery is scheduled for the end of February. In the meantime, I have a couple more "boxes" to check off to complete the requirements for Medicare.

Other than pain at the site they removed stomach, I've been doing pretty good too. So far I've tolerated sipping vert well and have gotten my walks in without too much trouble.

I did learn something that everyone may already know, but I didn't...so I wanted to share. (As I've read in the forums before) It's not true that the Optum nurse we are required to have reviews our file for approval (I didn't believe that anyway). As far a bariatrics, if you have UHC and your employer is Apple (for example) all those files are reviewed by the same person or group of people. Supposedly once my file was reviewed it took less than an hour to approve, but it took them 27 days (and several calls for a supervisor from my surgeon's office) to actually decide to look at it.

I have had the lap band for 10 years now and it wasn't until the last 3 years I started having issues with it. Now I am back over 240 and my doctor had to remove Fluid because of my heartburn/gerd. I ended up with ulcers on my esophagus that are now cleared up. I have gotten almost all my clearances done in about 2 months and wondering if anyone has had UHC approve that quickly? My doctor is submitting to insurance this week. Everything I am reading says 6 months but its also all for initially getting one of the surgeries done not the revision.

Hello everyone I'm new here I'm supposed to be having gastric bypass surgery done soon but I don't know if i should. Because I am a food addict and I fear I will regain. Started looking into wls over a year ago n actually gain about 20lbs!!! Why do something if you're are going to fail right? I don't want to have my intestine rerouted to lose weight then gain it back like people on here. I need to loose a 100 pounds. Im over 230lbs scary

Hello Loridee11, yes me too! But I am scheduled for 2 extra nutrition appts guessing in case I had to reschedule. My surgery has been set for December 30th. Now I was approved for lapband removal and had done in July. Not sure if I have to get approved for 2nd surgery for RNY or if it goes with the removal surgery? But, I have a date set for December 30th. I have already given them my FMLA paperwork. Bought trial box of Protein Shakes and received a shaker bottle, will buy required Vitamins and Protein on next visit in Nov., soooo im just waiting and waiting and getting nervous! I do already have my suitcase packed for the event!

My favorite are from Celebrate bariatric vitamins! I take the quick dissolve ones! Due to my lab work I take d3 and B12 along with my multi and calcium! Celebrate also has a great deal for $9.99 and they send you a big bag of vitamin/protein samples to try! Highly recommend!
