    No leak test done?

I also never had any leak tests while awake. I didn't feel any restriction until I started on more solid foods. Drinks were easy from the beginning from me. If you were leaking into your abdomen you'd have a lot more immediate signs of that. Good luck in the journey ahead!

    3 mth post up update

    Great job! You look awesome!
  3. Had my sleeve done on 10/7, six weeks ago today. I'm happy with my loss so far and all my blood work is completely normal. No more risk of diabetes, high blood pressure and other such obese issues. I have a long way to go, but I know I'll get there in time. Keep it up everybody!!!

    Need help

You can also look into clear, flavorless protein powders that you can add into your water. They also have a protein water on the market that I believe has 15 or 20g of protein. Those might help you initially while you're still struggling with getting more liquids in. Good luck!
  5. I thought it'd be interesting to hear people's lowest points before surgery that led them to the decision of having surgery. My lowest was being at an amusement park with my wife and son. They had a waterslide area and we decided to go on. The bottom of the steps had a sign that listed the maximum weight as 300lbs, which I knew I was around 320 at the time. I figured I could get by. We finally get all the way to the top and I see a giant scale ahead of the slides with red and green lights. My wife and son had to look on as the light went red and I had to walk my fat ass all the way back down through the crowded stairs. That really cemented it for me that it was time for a change and surgery was the right thing ahead for me.
  6. For my second week I was having creamy soups (butternut squash, tomato, carrot & ginger), non-fat greek yogurt (Danon light and fit greek), non-fat sugar free pudding, premier protein shakes and water.

    5 days post op

I'm 4 weeks post op as of today and I dealt with a lot of dizziness. I was on a blood pressure reducing medication and I had to stop taking that. Even after only a moderate weight loss post op, my blood pressure is in a very healthy range, but that change can make you dizzy until you get used to it. I'm no doctor, but that is what I've read at least. You may want to keep track of your own blood pressure, especially if you're on medication for it already. Good luck in the days ahead!
  8. The only two things that helped me was getting a protein drink I liked set aside in the fridge for when I had my surgery. Every surgeon is different, but I was drinking protein drinks 2 days after surgery...though I did add some water to them to thin it. The second was a clear and measured water bottle so I could record my water intake correctly. Good luck!

    Week 3 Diet and Diarrhea

Thanks for the replies. I'm just glad to know it's fairly normal to go through when transitioning from liquid only. I was so excited to have to chew something, but now I feel like going right back to soups!
  10. Hey there. I'm 18 days post-op from my gastric sleeve and started with some solid food yesterday. I had one scrambled egg at one meal and some flaky fish at another. I feel like I ate slow enough, it took me 30min to finish both portions. It gave me the runs yesterday and now today again with my one egg for breakfast was the same. Is this a normal thing when switching from the liquid stage?
