Jenna_87 got a reaction from GreenTealael in VSG to RNY due to Gerd
I had the sleeve done 10/19 and then had severe GERD about two months after and the doctor put me on omeprazole once a day then upped it to twice a day. Nothing helped. I also had a hilated hernia. So he decided to do the bypass on July 2020. About not even a day later I was having bleeding issues. So I had to go back in for surgery for them to fix it. So I had two surgeries in two days. I stayed in the hospital for a week. This was worse than the three c sections I had. Four weeks later and I’m still in pain. I’m not trying to scare you but just sharing my experience. My doctor said I was the 5% that this would happen to. So maybe I just had some bad luck that day I don’t know. I haven’t had to take any of my omeprazole. I haven’t had any GERD symptoms. So far it’s been worth it for that but otherwise I’m still figuring out if it’s been worth it altogether. Good luck in your decision!

I was drinking 2 per day, 1 for breakfast and one for a snack until 8 weeks then cut down to one, this was my docs plan.

Had my sleeve done on 10/7, six weeks ago today. I'm happy with my loss so far and all my blood work is completely normal. No more risk of diabetes, high blood pressure and other such obese issues. I have a long way to go, but I know I'll get there in time. Keep it up everybody!!!

My surgery was 10/15. Was supposed to be the 1st but postponed due to diverticulitis. On week 4 post op feeling pretty good. Just started a regular modified diet so happy to cucumbers with dinner tonight! It's the little things right.

I did regular drip/keurig coffee, made strong, and used premier vanilla RTD Protein as my creamer. I drank two cups of coffee a day and the 11.5 oz of 'creamer' was enough for both. Did it for a couple years at least.
I also saw that premier has a new cafe latte flavor protein that has the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee.

I never had good luck with any powdered Protein, FYI. That's why I did RTD. Good luck! I dropped coffee entirely and I miss it dearly, especially now that its getting colder.

I make an iced coffee using Folgers or Starbucks instant coffee and vanilla or chocolate Protein Powder.
There’s no reason you couldn’t warm it up. I like using the instant coffee so the volume doesn’t get crazy.

Anyone have any good ideas to get more Protein in coffee? I've done the Premier Protein in expresso but i mean in the morning i just want a nice hot cup of coffee. For right now i can have 4oz of protein 3 times a day so i was going to try some whey protein first. I just love coffee mate Creamer so this is gonna be a challenge. Any ideas welcomed!! Thanks in advance🙂

I am working with a dietitian through my surgeon but not counseling. I was thinking about looking into that. Thank you for your advice! 😊

I wish someone would share their post op meal plan that actually worked and lessened the hunger of the mind.
