Congratulations and a speedy recovery too you when you get there :)

  2. One thing I was NOT prepared for when I had my LapBand and lost all my weight was how others reacted to my changes. I was so focused on me and getting healthy that I did not see the others around me seething with toxic thoughts and words. Took me completely by surprise how you know people for years then all of a sudden their true character showed up.

This time around I am prepared but I am totally documenting this journey from the very beginning in my blog! It's been therapeutic to write it all out.

Anyone else have issues with friendships dissolving after WLS?

Here we go....finally getting back to ME

  3. This week has been emotional! I did finally get on the scale. I am freaking 270lbs and I threw a tandrum just like a 2 year old in Target. For years I did not touch that scale! I did not want to put myself through that torture. I think after this surgery I won't be weighing except for one or two months. I think we can focus on that scale a little too damn hard.

My sis gets on it freaking twice a day. I do not want to chain myself to that evil witch.

Check out my new blog post.

Yeah, it sounds like a bad week. Just remember it's a journey (cheesy I know). Try setting other types of (sustainable) goals rather than weight loss until you feel you get a handle on losing the weight again. Remember keep it sustainable and small (mini-habits) otherwise the anxiety gets you off track.

My absolute first step was my my teeny tiny New Year's Resolution of keeping a food journal. I think it's the only resolution that Ive ever kept. Next, I started by just walking an hour with my dogs each morning four times a week and I used the Sports-Tracker app to keep myself accountable. From there it became easier and I lightened up about the whole thing.

Just a suggestion. Keep at it girl!

Well, I love your suggestion and I am going to do just that. I will not focus on weight. I actually have some dresses that I have never worn that I am looking forward to wearing and I am going to focus on visualizing me in them and looking fabulous. It's so funny. I am truly looking at all of this differently since it will be my 2nd surgery. I learned so much from that first journey.
