I’ve lost just over 56 since my surgery in October. I’m feeling great and am super happy about this.
I’m eating most things in very small portions- still focussing on Protein intake and cutting down on carb Intake.
Thinking of you all- good luck for your journeys

    Hi
    i had my surgery 14/10/19.
I have lost about 70lb so far. Feeling good and on track. Sometimes I forget and eat too fast or too much and have episodes of foamies and pain. I’m trying to stop this.
Hope all of you are doing well xx

Hey everyone. Just checking in. I’ve tried some carbs and all of my old “trigger” foods make me sick! pretzels yuck, potato chips I throw up, cakes and ice cream I can’t look at. French fries are absolutely disgusting. Hamburgers taste like wax.
I like boiled eggs, a little slice about 2 inch by 2 inch gluten free bread with boiled egg on top for Breakfast and homemade iced coffee. I also loooove ceasare salad with chicken.
I hate and throw up butter, Peanut Butter, guacamole, etc. I hate fat. Chicken and turkey skin. No mashed potatoes.
I love carrots broccoli green Beans, bananas and oranges.
I love sushi still. Spicy tuna roll. But I can’t really eat much. My whole meal is 50% of one roll.
I still dream of food. I still cheat and love hard candy but I don’t keep it in the house.
Im down from 295 to 260 day of surgery to 212 yesterday.
Most fish makes me sick. I can never look at another Protein Shake. I like crock potted moist fall off the bone meat with veggies.
    Im still hungry a lot!
I sleep the night thru and no cpap!
I cant believe how much attention I get from the opposite sex even though I’m married. It’s so weird. Like I’ve been hit on 1-3 x a week!
I struggle with calories in. Only getting 1200 per day. Still losing weight.
Im really happy with the surgery.
Still struggling with food is NOT a reward. Food is NOT a comfort. Food IS sustenance only.

When I got my lap band 10 years ago my husband was in good health and supportive of my decision. Now I need to revise it and he has some major health issues and I think he's afraid something will happen to me and then he won't have anyone to care for him. It's giving me some guilt, but being obese there's no assurance nothing will happen if I DON'T get the surgery. If I die from obesity issues he still doesn't have his help, so I'm going to get the bypass.
Like all the other posters said in their wisdom, it's YOUR journey and you do it for you.

Yes.... 99.99% of the time. I truly believe this. I know i went into the Band with the hopes that the weight loss would make my marriage better. It did not.... but at the time i didn't see all the "other" things that was wrong. I didn't see the extremely controlling person he was. I didn't see the negative, self-centered, heartless person he was/is. I made excuses for him all the time. After the WL he wanted me to gain the weight back. He would say things like...... You know you were prettier when you were fat because i couldn't see all those wrinkles in your face...... or Your too skinny you look like a bag of bones. Finally, i started gaining my confidence back and all the things started to surface. He was no longer controlling me and he hated it..... So he just stopped being present in our marriage. I told him we needed to get counseling and he said no, that there was nothing wrong with him and that if he were to go with me i would have to pay for it. I told him, things needed to change and if it didn't that come the first of the year i was filing.... That was in July 2015... January 2016 .... then he was trying to "fix" things. But it was too late for me, i was done.
I started dating and in Oct 2016 to the most wonderful man EVER.... He supports me in any decisions i make. 2017 i had to have the band removed due to a slip. Between then and Julyish... i put on 30lbs. He never said a word except that i was beautiful and sexy... all the time. But i saw my weight was going up and nothing i did was stopping it. So i got sleeved Aug 28th. And he still tells me every day how beautiful and sexy i am....
We got married Sept. 26th after meeting on Match.com..... hehe

Nomore.... Have you explained to him how much you value his support, but that you feel this is the path you must take? My now ex husband hated the idea of me getting WLS. Back in 2009 i got banded. He said the same... you're doing it now, you can do it without surgery. But, i knew i had to have this for me and no one else. It was harder with out his support, but i went on to lose 89lbs. Kept it off for years. In 2016 i asked for a divorce after 25+ years. (lots of issues) The main problem was my weightloss. He hated the skinny me, would be negative all the time. Told me some of the most horrible stuff. But though it all Never had any weight gains while i had my band. Back in March 2017 i got the flu/stomach bug and threw up violently... slipped my band. Emergency removal. It was the worst day ever. Between that day and Julyishhh.... i gained back 30lbs. This confirmed that i needed WLS. So Aug 28, 2019 i got sleeved.
Your health has many risk and side effects. You have to do this for you and only you. If you haven't, go watch youtube Dr. V.... he's an Asian guy and he is 100% correct on everything he says... go watch the one on relationships.

Happily married here, but a couple of observations:
You will able to eat more food and a greater variety as time goes by. I agree with Maidenhall that you should just concentrate on your health and recovery for now. There are quite a few emotional ups and downs during weight loss, and you probably don't want to throw the stress of dating into the mix.
My biggest issue with socializing after surgery is friends who don't know I had surgery trying to force food on me. I tell them I'm on a medically supervised diet, but they insist that "one piece of pizza / cookie / glass of wine won't hurt." I have to be quite insistent at times.
Finally, you don't need to explain anything on a first date (or second, or third). If it looks like the relationship might have potential, you could bring it up and some point, but wait and see whether you even want to see the person again.

Hello. It's been a long 9 months for me as well. I started my journey in January with my first appointment with my surgeon. I think anytime someone has elective surgery there is always the question of are you doing the right thing. I just try to think of the positive things that brought me to this point. Losing weight, feeling better about myself, being able to do the things I use to do without pain, hopefully preventing future issues and diseases associated with being over weight etc. Everyones experience is their own you have to remember that. Just because something happened to them or they felt a way doesn't not mean that will happen to you. Maybe it's just that the long process derailed your excitement maybe or gave you time to second guess your self. I've had friends do this surgery and all I can say is it gave them their life back. They are half the person they were literally and have been living their best life ever since. With all this being said if you still feel conflicted maybe you should consider postponing your surgery in order to give this more thought and do some soul searching. This is after all a major decision and should be regarded as such. Otherwise good luck and congratulations on the 17th 😁
