I'm so sorry to hear that. I guess it really depends on the location and hospital, I think this whole thing is surreal.

So, I have an update. I'm to report to the hospital at 6 am. This was my original date anyway, so I'm truly grateful to move forward. Now, I have to deal with the regular anxiety of the surgery itself.

Well, it appears that week 3 is the bubble week as folk set to go in week 4 are now getting cancelled. I'm waiting myself to see if my surgery will be switched back to the original date of tomorrow. Ahhhh the anxiousness of it all.... I'm not so annoyed because of the virus, but because the hospital switched my date in the first place.

I'm so sorry for all of us who are going thru this.

My office just called me back and is seeing if the surgery can be switched back to the original date of 3/17. The assistant told me that the surgeon is working very hard to make that happen. If it's a no go, then reschedule is uncertain, and it that's the case, then I'm taking it as a sign that perhaps this is not for me.

Just got off the phone with the Bari Office. Surgery still on for Wednesday. I won't pack anything until the hospital calls with the time tomorrow though.

Me as well and from what I'm hearing now, we may be on total lockdown within days, not 1-2 weeks. I will be calling the Bariatric office tomorrow.

They just ordered all bars and restaurants closed for in-dining in this state because, well, some folk are just plain hardheaded. I took a short pre op walk today -- haven't been to the gym in weeks getting the prepped and ready for surgery. So just waiting...waiting....waiting....on Wednesday.... I have enough to get me thru the soft food phase.

Well, we are about to enter week 3 and congratulations to all of the March surgeries completed so far. Because I started my liquid fast on March 1st, I'm at day 15 and counting. My surgery is 72 hours away. I do hope for the best and I'm trying to be as even-headed as possible. There is a lot going on in the world right now and I want to be, above all, safe. So let's all hope for the best and continue to do our due diligence. ❤️

I know, right? It's awful and this always tend to happen over the weekend when you can't call anyone to find out anything. Try not to worry. We are on the bubble for sure and I've been fasting for 15 days and counting. Not to mention having arranged to take time off of work that I would have to either return or take vacation leave (which is what I will probably do because outside of this surgery, I'm not trying to be anywhere else right now).

Thanks for that. Apparently the CDC got its recommendations from the College of Surgeons because it's exactly word for word what I posted above.

I don't know if it's overblown or not, but if the SG said that, that's not exactly what the CDC is saying. I would just advise everyone who has scheduled surgery in the next week or two to contact your surgeon's office tomorrow to confirm the date. As I said before, the CDC is making a distinction between inpatient and outpatient services -- at least for now.

I went to the site. This is what it says: Inpatient facilities Reschedule elective surgeries as necessary. Shift elective urgent inpatient diagnostic and surgical procedures to outpatient settings, when feasible. If your surgery requires you to be admitted as an inpatient, then it could be rescheduled. It also says that if the surgery is inpatient elective, then consider shifting it to an outpatient setting. I already know that my procedure will be done in the outpatient surgery section which is housed in a different building that is connected to the main hospital. If you don't know if your surgery will be done as an inpatient vs. outpatient, then that would be what I would ask -- especially if your surgery is to be done within the next week or so. Also, these are interim guidance from the CDC -- meaning that they are recommendations at this point. Also, I think that if you have had your pre-op appointment, you should already know where to go; my hospital will call the day before for the actual time of the surgery and when I'm to show up.

Thanks for the advice! I don't usually get this way, but because of the stoppage of supplements, I haven't been taking anything. I will get right on this! Wow! You do 5k??? Impressive!

Thanks! Toilet? I wish. I'm having the opposite problem now. I had a colonic done and thank goodness! Having bad constipation now. That reminds me that I need to get back on this pre/probiotic now!

LOL @ evil liquid diet! Need some humor these days. I'm at day 14; started early and surgery pushed to Wednesday. I do hope that you can get yours done. Whatever is going on in WA state, I figure that the rest of the country is not far behind.

I wouldn't worry about calories during this period, but the water is very important to prevent dehydration; the protein gives you the energy. What I've read from others is that the fullness feeling starts when you are eating again, but some have said that it's been no difference to them. I think it takes a while for the body to adjust.

I am aware of where it came from, but that wasn’t the name of it, that’s all I’m saying. But the situation is serious due to a lack of testing. That’s driving the fear.

It's Coronavirus or COVID-19 and it will depend on the level of outbreak and how fast it spreads. I doubt months though.

Hey y'all, I'm back! It's been a busy week for me prepping, getting my sis settled and getting all of my work done, but as of tonight, I'm off for the next 3 weeks! YAY! My surgery was moved to Wednesday, the 18th so when it's all said and done, I would have been on a liquid diet for 2 weeks and 4 days. It's amazing what you can do when you are laser focused. I would say check in with your doctor for sure. What kind of workouts are you doing?
