Liza :) got a reaction from AZhiker in Forced to do Bypass
I just met with my surgeon, Dr. Quilici last Monday (1/27/20). I wanted to do the sleeve but I have really bad GERD and have a hiatal hernia. He said he recommends the bypass because of my condition. I was in tears when I left. I also didn't want to do bypass but after researching, I know that it is the best option for someone like me. I feel you. The surgeon said the bypass will help my hernia and GERD, practically curing it. My surgery will be towards late March.

Liza :) reacted to sillykitty in How many years after surgery could you eat a plate of spaghetti without feeling nauseous?
For some of us ... yes. I never intended to change what I ate long term, just the quantities and ratios. Not all of us have the same issues with food, nor the same goals.
Some of us have been around here a while and have come to realize there are a range of experiences with both VSG and RNY patients. There can be as many differences with your fellow RNY-ers as similarities with VSG-ers. So don't be quick to assume that your experiences will be more similar or more dissimilar just based upon surgery type.
If you care about this sleever's (who has occasionally experienced light dumping syndrome) opinion, then yes, I have no issues with all the foods you mentioned.

Your desire for this food is very apparent, you are asking an emotional question - not a nutritional one. Right now your mind needs to realize that it will never be the same again, unless you want to ruin the surgery.
Your body needs nutrition, so work within the guidelines to simulate Asian food, use the spices and vegetables and some chicken.
Pasta - no, a couple bites here and there, but it isn't that appealing and feels too heavy. You can still have the sauce and meatballs. I suspect you are missing chewing this texture too. All of us had to face the food funeral.
You are among friends here, so don't be rude to sleevers, they are trying to help.
