I've been hitting up our local Goodwill also! Lots more stylish options now that I'm in smaller sizes!

I kept one pair of pants, a belt, and one shirt as a reminder of where I'll never be again.
I donated to goodwill and also shopped there for a year, many of the shirts I got at goodwill were donated again a few weeks after I got them as they got too big. At $5-6 a shirt it only made sense. It was sort of like renting

I'm sure my work place thinks they should do a clothing drive for me, hahaha! I've been wearing leggings and baggy jeans. I hate clothes shopping. I've donated the items that I know are ridiculously too big, but kept the stuff that kind of fits still.

A thread for us to share our daily menus!
To help keep things in perspective for everyone, let's try to note our height & weight (or BMI), gender, weight-status & how far out we are post-op (unless this is already stated in your side profile )
Post as little or as much info as you want. If you track macros, feel free to share your Protein, fat, & carb details...if all you feel like saying is you had a really yummy taco, that's cool too.
EDIT: Anyone can play! VSG, RNY, DS, etc... โฅ๏ธ

smaller_sav reacted to FluffyChix in How do you psychologically deal?
@Brent701 I'm sorry the last part of the "so called honeymoon" period has been stressful to you. Think back on WHY this is. My theory: In the first 6 months you were gung-ho and super compliant about your diet, and the weight was falling off you and the scale was MOVING.
Fast forward to the last 6 months: We ALL begin experimenting with the things that got us MO in the first place. Weight loss slows to a crawl. The scale is NOT moving much and can move up. It isn't offering the motivational reward of seeing the constant down tick. The cravings increase as dietary latitude increases. Diet fatigue sets in. Life begins again for many of us cuz we feel so much butter.
And we lose focus of the end goal.
That is the end of the honeymoon period. But it doesn't have to be. The honeymoon ends when WE say it ends by what we put in our mouths and how much we put in our mouths. Any one of us 18+ months out can STILL lose weight--all the weight we CHOOSE to lose. It's not some magic bell you ring...welp, your 18 months are up kid, sorry, you didn't finish. Wah. Wah. Wahhhhhh. Nope. Weight loss can and WILL continue as long as you are focusing on your food plan and working it. And doing the physical side of it too. I know that's a dirty word for you.

I think the main thing that helps me is remembering that what I've been eating and how I have been eating all this time obviously hasn't been in my best interest. I feel like this is the fresh start that I need to 'fix' myself (my body and eating habits) before it messes up anymore aspects of my life.

Same on where the weight loss is coming from! My thighs are still like thunder!! It's frustrating as heck!

Yes!! I've noticed I have aches and pains still, but different kinds! My hips actually hurt if I sleep funny and my backside is bony.

Mine are too!! I thought I'd like them better but when I see them in the mirror I still hate them.

I forgot that surgery can mess with your hormones/mentrual cycle so I now I'm feeling cycle symptoms again wondering if my new hips and larger than expected cup size will disappear soon.

All of my weight loss is coming from the upper part of my body. I am starting to resemble a girl in the early stages of developing boobs.๐คฃ๐คฃ

I have always wanted to have a collection of jackets. Like lots to use as accessories. Now Iโm usually just stuck buying functional jackets that I can get in my size and wearing the hell out of them.
Iโm looking forward to being able to shop in any store and buy interesting or sale jackets and have a collection I donโt look like Iโm squeezed into!

I think I was just going too fast and not chewing long enough. I have slowed down and chewed more and waited longer between bites and have noticed a big difference. I hope you are doing well in your recovering!

I started pureed yesterday and had refried Beans for Breakfast, cottage cheese a couple of hours later, a Protein Shake for lunch and tuna salad for dinner. Since I had a revision the chewing part is already a habit and everything went down well. You will get there and it will e habit before you know it!

I took your advice. I take 2 bites. Literally wait 5 minutes and take 2 more. So far so good.

I want to say it was my fifth small bite. I had already mixed the Beans with some Water to thin them, but I still chewed just as a precaution. I probably would have done better if I would have waited longer times between bites too.

Anytime. I'm not struggling with Protein but I am struggling with Water intake. 64oz is the bare minimum my dr wants me to drink every day. I did that yesterday and I felt so dehydrated. So I have incorporated 16 oz extra liquids today. Hopefully I won't feel so dried out tomorrow morning. I do like the crystal light lemonade. Not having any issues with it and I haven't had to take a nausea pill today.

My doctor said the Protein Shakes are harsher on the stomach when they are premixed or mixed with milk. He told me to make my own Protein shakes with Celebrate 4 in 1 with Water and not milk to start out with. I dont know if it makes a difference or not because I haven't tried it with milk yet. I am keeping this protien down though. So maybe there's something there, maybe not. Good luck. Hope u find your happy medium.
