@Thea7777 I'm glad to hear your pain level isn't too high. I've been fortunate in that department too. Mainly just the incisions are sore if I move too quick or the wrong way. The incision itching is absolutely horrendous though. I bought kids benadryl and took about 15ml and that is knocking the intensity down. I couldn't tolerate some of the thicker shakes- like the regular Premier, but Isopure seems to go down well. I think I am gun shy from throwing up Premier because I'm struggling to get in fluids and protein.

@Gumby19943 My diet plan said I could try full liquids at 3 days out. I tried a Premier Protein vanilla shake and did not tolerate it very well at all. I also had to go back to clear liquids and broths. I did try a Campbell's sipping soup yesterday though and it was amazing!! It took me most of the afternoon, but it stayed down and the taste was divine! I tried the squash and sweet potato one.

Hi @Thea7777! How are you feeling? How bad was the pain in the immediate recovery at the hospital?

I only have two more days!! The nerves are setting in! All of the final preop diet/wash/packing, etc. will be tomorrow. I have knots in my stomach.

    3 days away!!!!

I'm two days away now and the nerves are setting in! Today is your surgery day @Rays of Sunshine? I wish you the best of luck and prayers for a speedy recovery!! Agreed on the liquid diet! At this point that seems like the last two days aren't so bad!

    3 days away!!!!

Congratulations on the weight you've lost so far preop!! You are going to do great through surgery and recovery too! I am nervous and a bit scared more from the pain aspect, but having a good surgeon helps put the mind at ease.

My other surgery twin!! My surgery is the 18th as well! I'm planning on trying to find a loose dress or gown type something for the ride home. I'm in AL and it's still hot as three hecks here so no sweatpants.

You're getting closer! Definitely excited here, but nervous about the immediate postop pain. I know I'm being a wuss, but still. Haha!

Krisss you're my surgery twin!!! Mine is the 18th too!! My preop diet has been the two week liver shrinking diet. Shake for breakfast, shake for lunch, then 4-6oz. of approved meat with side of non-starchy veggie. Also, had to wean off caffeine and it's been tough. But we've got this!!!

    Pre op diet pain.

Yes!! I finally got over it this past weekend because I purposely ran out of coffee at home since no one else drinks it there. I can honestly see why people relapse. It was terrible. Out of habit I still want to make a cup of coffee and drink it, but nope.

  15. I totally agree on the clothing! My boss fusses at me once in a blue moon about dressing more professional since I try and get away with the most comfortable clothes possible. Usually jeans and a semi dress top. I am looking forward to being able to shop for cute, professional dress clothes without paying an arm and a leg.
  16. 1) To feel more comfortable in my skin! 2) Fit in more professional clothes. Sounds strange, but I hate clothes shopping. It's expensive to find cute plus sizes 3), Wear high heels and not feel like a weeble wooble 4) Shave legs much easier 5) To not feel like the fat mom at my kid's school/sports/church/etc. activities 6) Cross my legs! 7) Learn how to ride a motorcycle comfortably

    Pre op diet pain.

That is great! I've come down a few pounds on the preop diet myself. It's nice, but dear goodness I'm still hungry as heck! I'm glad you are getting some relief!

    Pre op diet pain.

I have hungry pains quite a bit too. I try and take big drinks of water. I figured I'd enjoy the big sips of water now while I can since it's so restrictive afterwards. I've had horrible headaches from detoxing caffeine too. I just keep telling myself it will be worth it.

    Sept surgery people

I messed up on my preop diet yesterday. I had grilled chicken and some lettuce at lunch and then baked salmon and green beans at dinner. I am sticking to just shakes today and it is difficult to say the least. My surgery got moved back two days at my request so boo to more days on preop haha. But seriously though I'm thankful it got moved to accommodate work.

    Sept surgery people

Sept. 16th and two week pre-op liver shrinking diet started Monday, 09/01. I was a little mentally unprepared because my approval just went through on Friday, 08/30. It was like oh crap! Pre-Op LSD is protein shake for breakfast and protein shake for lunch then 4-6oz. lean meat for dinner with approved veggies list. Have to wean off caffeine which has been terrible. But I am so excited it’s almost surgery date!! I just keep telling myself how worth it everything will be!!
