Selena_Sarajevo got a reaction from FluffyChix in Health issues after surgery
My surgeon said just to track it.
I have an appointment next week with him
I know a lot about it - usually it is a congenital and affects women more cause of estrogen
Fact one - I didn'thave that hemangioma on my liver before surgery - radiologist said " it looks like it but I'm not sure"
Fact two - gb is "calm" - no signs of inflammation or stone movement and medications given doesn't help with the pain
So I'm thinking to ask for a CT scan to check what is really going on inside
The reason for a month wait is to give chance to "calm" down and to do a pre op tests
The pain itself isn't intense but constant and boring and it hurts more when I move more - it feels like when your muscles are in pain after a run ... It gets sharper when I move around more
I'm just worried ... don't want to go on a surgery if they aren't sure what the problem really is , you know ..
Thanks for finding time to answer 😘

Selena_Sarajevo got a reaction from FluffyChix in So completely confused
I can't really help with first part - regarding the open surgery.I had a tough surgery lasted almost 4 hours cause some complications.
I did feel the same way first 10 - 15 days
Also had trouble with controling bowell movement
I was on liquids for 4 weeks and understan you well in that mater
Also had issues with "feeling" and knowing when I'm hungry.
I honestly think you have been trough a lot and you must give your body time to heal specialy cause it was an open surgery.
    Recovery is longer , harder
I had laparoscopic surgery and had a lot of difficulties with moving around - like you said walk for few min and felt like I've been runing a marathon
Give yourself time and keep in touch with surgeon and your medical team

    Hi ,
I was "sleeved" 4 months ago , 29th August. So far I've lost around 56-58 pounds. Since beginning I couldnt walk to much or exercise cause of the pain in the right side - where liver amd gallbladder are. Talked to my surgeon and did some bloodwork - everything seemed normal. Surgeon suggested to stay of working out and just walk. Last 2 weeks I had intens pain so I ended up doing an ultrasound to se what the hell is wrong.Of course gallbladder stones were to blame and there wasn't any surprise there. Another thing poped up - I suddenly have a hemangioma on my liver that wasn't there before surgery. It is 4 x 3 cm . I'm scheduled to remove gallbladder in one month. Right now I'm not sure is it the cause of pain because it isn't food related - I don't eat eggs - allergic, I don't eat greasy or spicy food , etc. I feel pain when I walk , try to exercise or do any activity for longer time.
Please any kind of advices pr experience is more than welcome.
    Thanks
    Selena

I know this might sound counterintuitive but the fact that the ham and Beans you ate felt like a lump sitting in your stomach for hours is EXACTALLY what is supposed to happen. The hot peppers aside, our new stomachs are designed to fill fast, and hang on for an extended period of time. Keep it up, but chew, chew chew and no Water with meals.
as for the family issue, I read recently than 1 in 4 successful Bariatric patients leave their environment. You can always hope

Gosh it sounds like they are just baiting you. Which is just crappy. Limit your exposure to them. And if it's your hubs and children doing it? It's OK to set boundaries of will and won't happen in your house. If need be, cut them off until you are stronger. And also, maybe look into counseling...((hugs))

We are in a learning phase in the beginning, how to make good choices, what foods and how much are good. You can do this! Does your surgeon have a support group so you can get support from people other than your family?

I'm so sorry you are getting zero support from your family, and truthfully, it's more sabotage than lack of support. You are really going to have to decide whether or not you are going to let them sabotage you like this. I hope you can stand up to them, this is YOUR life and health!
Hopefully you will get over this unscathed and can use it as a valuable lesson. If you feel like you are in this alone come here often, you have lots of people here going through what you are and can help you through this!

I'm 24 days out and my PCP has already cut my blood pressure Meds in half. This whole process is different than just a "diet". Used correctly it will completely reset your metabolic and homeostasis clock.

I have yo-yoed my whole life since my mother put me on amphetamines when I was 12. I even got a lap band over 10 years ago and it was great--until it wasn't (slippage, hiatal hernia development). Then I got an RNY a bit over a month ago and lost 20 pounds in the first three weeks!
It's not a magic bullet, and you will not get to your goal without some work, but you WILL lose weight. And you have lots of good resources here to help you with your journey. Like the little sidebar says, people on this forum have collectively lost over 5 million pounds!

It is a legitimate fear. And it's very very common. And understandable.
I too had this fear. I know of SOOOOOOO many people who came into this journey after years and years of unsuccessful, yo-yo dieting who were and (some still are) terrified of failing weight loss surgery! Imagine! We go to the lengths of cutting out 80% of our tummy, re-routing feet of small intestines, and go through months of deprivation only to hit the skids somewhere between 6-9 months when the weight loss gets REALLY hard. And life becomes interesting again. And we start living life...and suddenly we have to figure out if our first goal is really a burning desire or if we want to rationalize to ourselves in favor of living a life that got us all the way to the Obesity Ball in the first place!
Gosh! Talk about scary larry! It is! It's enough to scare you straight.
Use this time wisely. Don't squander your honeymoon period. Use this time when you will have as little interest in food as you will ever have to develop and nurture new healthy habits for life after surgery! If you do that and follow the plan your doctor and RD have set for you, you will be fine and you will be victorious.
There is freedom from food addictions and the behaviors of the past! Swearsies!
I went from 325 at my highest to 287 at my most recent high and this morning at less than 22months, I'm 129lbs. I'm walking proof and I'm no one exceptional, just average.

I don't even own a scale 😔 I refuse. I go by how close fit etc. But I feel like I should be melting. But I was also told that you'll melt the bigger you are before surgery. I was 248( I'm only 5'2") so I'm short and was considered obese and had health problems prior. Maybe that's it 😔 no clue . But it is upsetting. But I'm keeping head up ! Thank you so much !!

I had GS 9/23. Lost 38 lbs. There are going to be ups & downs. It still surprises me when I don’t lose when I’m eating so little. Then I got bronchitis which affected my asthma. Had to get 2 steroid shots. After 1st shot literally gained 4 lbs overnight. Tried not to freak out & just kept to the plan. My surgeon says I’m losing slow but as long as I keep moving downward which I am now. In my support group our mantra is “trust the process”. Just hang in there.

I agree with above all of them - Call the Doc
Also if you can meet with a Nutritionist Hire one, I do not follow any barbaric plan concerning food schedule, I with doctor approval started this journey once i got my head out of my Ass to simply get healthy. Wieght loss was second to my health! I have found it can be broken down really simple. I do not care about the 500 page plans and all the other marketing behind dieting it comes down to this flash card!
Calories IN must be way less then calories out! = equals weight loss
Carbs in/ sugar intake = discomfort and stalls in weight loss or gain
Healthy in = Healthy feeling and healthy weigh loss
Since there is not a chance in hell i am going to us a App or log or anything like that, Just a typical lazy male, i focused on intake in the healthiest way possible. It worked for me

Oh perfectly normal to be scared of infection and this whole journey is emotional That is why forums like this are so good, you can come and get reassured AND it is ok to feel tearful or scared about stuff, we are all just humans doing the best we can and new stuff can be scary and I expect you are still pretty worn out and not yourself from the surgery x
