    Post-op two week liquid diet!

I've done that; bone broth has a lot of protein in it, too. It sticks around for about an hour. (Great minds!) Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post-op two week liquid diet!

Stomach, for sure. Taking in only 200-300 cals a day does that. (I'm very aware of eating for pleasure/boredom vs. being truly hungry. The former is why I became obese, unfortunately.) Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

Not allowed...clear liquids and protein shakes only. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pain post op?

Exactly! I actually started working from home four days post-op, then went in the office at one week. Wearing anything restrictive (like jeans) is a no-no, but I'm pushing through. Tylenol!!! Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post-op two week liquid diet!

Thank you for the "protein cream" idea! That sounds fantastic! (I just found the Atkins Chocolate Banana shake, and I really like it after losing a taste for all of the Premiere ones.) Thank you! Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. Gah! Need support! How are you making it through? I'm doing pho broth, SF popsicles, protein shakes...still hungry (8 days post-op). Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. And it means that no lies are needed. My social norm is to not lie to those I care about. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I said nothing about stonewalling everyone in his life. This is a work situation. If I say "I'm having a medical procedure and don't feel comfortable discussing it yet," that is a perfectly acceptable line. If the person pushes, they truly don't give a rat's patoot, as they are not honoring your wishes. They're likely nosy. But-- if he did feel like saying that line to anyone, that's perfectly up to him and people should respect that. Not one friend or "social contract" should be lost. I chose carefully who I wanted to know based on many factors; every single person that I delivered that line to said "I understand." Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Where are my water guzzlers?

Big, big chugger here. Like, a twenty-oz Coke zero in 5 seconds. I'm doing regular drinking for now; the removal of all carbonation for the foreseeable future was one of my biggest concerns about this surgery. For my first 4-5 days after, I did the sipping. 11. You don't have to tell them anything. I didn't. You are not legally required to share. You can just tell them that you're having a surgery and don't feel comfortable talking about it yet. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pain post op?

Yep. Walking at least 5000 steps per day. When I walk it doesn't hurt at all; it only hurts when I have to sit up from a reclined position or sit down or bend down or do any kind of twisting in a sitting position. Getting in and out of bed was so painful that I almost blacked out. Can only back sleep; tried to side sleep two nights ago and again, just the act of crawling into bed face down was so painful that everything went dark for a beat. Everyone's responses here make me wonder if something is amiss. I'm calling tomorrow. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pain post op?

Just sleeved on 8/12/19. Everyone talks about moderate pain, but holy moly, mine's not moderate when I try to stand or sit or bend or do anything that requires core muscles. It burns behind the 'big' incision, and I have to use my arms and other people to stand up. Tonight, the stabbing pain had me in tears as i tried to stand up from the couch. And coughing??? I feel like someone is stabbing a knife in my abdomen. I told the surgeon this on Thursday, and they seemed unconcerned--but it feels odd that I'm seemingly the only one who is experiencing this. (Fwiw, I've got a hella high pain threshold.) It is getting a little better each day, but then something will happen that makes it come back hard again. Anyone else experiencing this? 15. I'm day two post-op and woke up last night with the same hunger pains. I couldn't believe it. I drank some protein shake, went back to bed, but woke up ravenous. I'm trying some bone broth, but it's not helping. I've done intermittent fasting in my past, and it never felt like this. Any other solutions? Protein shakes aren't working. Neither is bone broth. I am taking pepcid at night. This is miserable.
