    Cannabis and WLS

Just my experience, ive used the devils lettuce every single day since ive been home. 🤷‍♂️. Thats just me. I often do it before my meals so that if munchies were a problem, they would be taken care of. Also i do it before bed. But usually by that time im ready to pass out anyway and dont have to worry about food. but if youre in a legal state you can get the cbd flower with very low thc in it if youre worried about munchies. Good luck.

Keeping some muscle after Gastric Sleeve

this is my experience. i definitely lost a lot of strength in the first year. i knew this would happen tho. i still lifted and did crossfit but the strength definitely went quick. i was also eat 800 cals until i got to my goal weight. Once i got there i knew i wanted to add muscle. So with help from my nutrionist, i SLOWLY added calories. Right now i eat around 2800-3000 a day. But i work out 6-7 days a week and theyre usually intense workouts with 2 running/biking days. It takes time and definitely can be done but dont rush it. Hope this helps!

I Lost My WLS Super Powers

GREAT POST!! I definitely have this anxiety about gaining the weight back. Im 15 months out and no im still in a bit of a safe zone, but like you i took note of people before me who were successful and also those who failed. Ive noticed a lot of people who have failed, 1. didnt change their eating habits, only ate less while the restriction was in place and just counted on that, and 2. didnt incorporate a workout routine to stick too. I also dont look at how i eat now as a being on a "diet" but rather this is just how i eat now. I notice how my "normal" friends eat and realized how bad i really ate when i was obese. i was always confused when i would go out to eat and my buddy would get fish and not that big juicy burger. and why did he always have leftovers and i didnt. it was crazy to me when i sit back and look at it now. having a healthy relationship with food has made everyday easier and im enjoying it very much, but i think ill always have a little of that anxiety of going back to who i was. but i know if i keep up with working out 5-6 days a week and keeping a balanced clean diet ill be ok. I just have to stick to it.

  10. 7/10 was my surgery date. So i took these pictures on 7/9/2019. The after pictures are from 7/9/2020. The sleeve was by far the best thing i have ever done. I used it for what it was, and that was a tool to kick starting a healthy life style. I had a plan in mind and i stuck to it. Ive become addicted to working out. Which is much better than being addicted to food like i was. Food has come fuel for me. Its a necessity and i treat it as such. But ive learned what, good quality foods to eat, and to help my everyday performance. For me this wasnt about being on a diet and then going back to how i was, and just eating less. I took this opportunity to learn and to build a new lifestyle for myself. I never told people i was on a a diet, I would simply say im trying a new way of life. Because i know i have to stay on this course to maintain what ive earned. I think a lot of people believe the sleeve is a quick fix and will just lose the weight for you. ANd it will at first. But that only last so long. I think a lot of people dont necessarily get that going into surgery. Overall, ive never been happier. This page has been a huge help and ive met some pretty awesome people on here. I love my new way of life and i wouldnt change it for anything. Cheers.

  13. i know for me personally, my arms and back definitely tightened up. along with my legs. My mid section definitely got better but i still have that extra skin at the bottom of my stomach. i dont think that will go anywhere. but things definitely tightened up! Keep going!

  15. NO ONE EVER GOT FAT EATING FRUIT!!! Blows my mind some nutritionist really discourage fruit. Ive had fruit since month one. I use to get those head aches too. A banana was always my go to. Hope it gets better for you!!
  16. Good luck! You got this. Sounds like you have a lot going on, but try to get that exercise in!! One day at a time.
  17. Here is a look at my journey. the bottom pic is most recent. once i got down to my goal weight, i started focusing on putting on muscle for my extra skin. it has definitely helped in some areas, but i think no matter how much i workout ill always have the belly skin. my arms have tightened up a lot from the working out. my legs as well. the only real bad extra skin i have is again, at the bottom of my stomach. but ive accepted it and dont think im going to do surgery. Life is good. ill take the extra skin any day over being bigger and unhappy.

ONLY because i saw you guys talking about it, but i just recently discovered i have abs now. So heres my humble brag but i think you guys will understand how hard ive worked to do this. ❤️❤️
  19. So, i decided to take on this challenge as well, and i am extremely happy with my results so far. I really struggled at first. I wasnt getting any stronger. So i sat down with my nutritionist because i figured i wasnt eating enough. And well bingo. I was eating 1200-1500 and it wasnt cutting it. Slowly she worked me up. Its not easy and i have to eat 6 times a day because i try to eat extremely clean, but i am able to now get 2500-3000 depending on the workout for the day. Ive put on about 15 pounds, but my waist has gotten smaller. So im guessing its mostly muscle. I weigh once a month now, only because its more about what i look like now, and even tho the scale has gone up a little, ive never had abs in my life. Hard work does pay off. I know i have a long journey ahead of me and hope i can maintain like you guys. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Exercising

This is going to be an unpopular comment, BUT when i went for my one week check up, i said to my doc "there is no way i can wait 4-6 weeks to exercise." He laughed and said "there is no damage you can do to your actual stomach after a week. but give it another week and if you feel up to it, you can do it." 16 days after surgery i started crossfit. and i had walked 5,000 steps everyday up to that point. And i havent stopped since. Im a big advocate for exercise. I think its a big part of having long term success. He did tell me to be careful with my incisions, This is just my experience and i still recommend listening to your doctor. But i love to see when people want to get into the gym. Good luck with your journey!! enjoy the ride. There will be ups and downs but worth it!
