  1. Yes, while I am happy with my results this far, I would still like to loose a little more. It’s a big mind game when you loose for so long and all of a sudden it Stops and goes up. I do have a lot of extra skin in my tummy and breasts. Planning on having that corrected when I’m cleared by my surgeon. I’m teetering on the BMI chart of Normal weight/and overweight. I’ve worked really hard to try to stick to a healthy diet to get this weight off, and just not ready to see the scale stop and head up.

  2. I’m 11 months post op. I’ve lost about 80 pounds since surgery. I currently weight 167-169, at 5’8. I have been going up and down a couple of pounds for the past month or so. No matter what I do I can’t get lower. I’m scared that this is it. Has anybody experienced this at this stage? Hoping it’s just a plateau and not the end of the loosing game for me.

There is a stall at 3 weeks, 4 months and I imagine 6 months. The body just stops weightloss and readjusts. This site talks about the stalls and how to not lose your mind during them. Also, the greatest weight loss happens in the early months after surgery, then more slowly after that. I'm still at 500 - 600 calories each day. If I walk or don't it doesn't seem to affect my loss. The weight didn't go on in one year and it may take a bit of time to come off.

Thank you for this!! Just hit 4 months and stalling since Christmas and was freaking out!

Thanks for replying. Can I ask what did you did in place of Protein Shakes?

I tried hard for the first week to just drink Water. Second week I just ate yogurt for Protein. I was so stressed about it and finally said forget it. I was still breathing and Alive and that’s all that mattered in the beginning. Lol. I just ate what worked for my tummy and stopped stressing so much early on. You’ll get your protein in due time.

  5. Girlfriend I know exactly how your feeling. I’m now 8 weeks post op but felt the exact same way right after surgery. I was so sorry I got it and cried for almost 2 weeks straight. I still feel this way from time to time when nothing taste the same anymore and I get frustrated. But trust me, it gets better. Just hang in there and take it day by day. I know exactly how your feeling

I lost 16 lbs the first month - most of that the first two weeks. Then I had the infamous three-week stall - after that broke, I started losing again, but it was a lot slower than the first couple of weeks.

    Same for me.
