I think I'd start with seated exercises. YouTube is full of them. If possible, aquatic exercises are also very good. You can often find classes at the local YMCA or equivalent.
For strength, I'd get me some thera-bands and incorporate it into my seated exercises.
Best of luck. Hopefully you can eventually transition to weight-bearing exercises.

You can make your own refreezable ice pack with a gallon freezer bag. Fill it with 3 cups of Water and 1 cup of rubbing alcohol and then just put it in the freezer. Make two so you can always have one ready to go while you are using the other one.

Guys, I gotta get this off my chest.
BariatricPal is a wonderful site that has helped countless people on their weight loss journey. Many topics have been discussed here with some of them being a bit off-color or controversial, but it's OK because we are hear to learn and get help and give help.
But many posters ask honest questions, and some of the responses come off as being judgemental of the poster. If people are afraid their questions are going to bring down a rain of judgements on their head, they are likely NOT to post, and isn't asking questions what this forum is for?
So I hope we can give a bit of consideration when we respond to a question. Opinions are definitely OK, but if the post comes off as judgemental people may be hesitant to ask them, and it defeats the purpose of this forum.
Thanks, whew-I feel better now. I love you all!

Hello everyone I started at 306 n now I am 190 which is great but started having weird symptoms of bad heartburn and I wasn’t able to to eat or drink. On the 31st of December my surgeon went in and put a ballon to stretch my stomach out a bit which I can now drink but still not eat as much. But I am still having bad heartburn and stomach pain accompanied by like a burning up I’m not sure if what I am going through is normal.

In addition to the ab binder and sippy cups, one of those gel ice packs from Walgreens or cvs-the large one that’s made for the back. Put it on your belly a couple times each day and it also helps reduce the swelling and bloating tremendously. Make sure the gasX is chewable or the small blue pill. The rapidmelts don’t really work. This vsg was the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m one week post op and almost all swelling and bloating is gone, thanks to the ab binder and ice pack. Without the ab binder scale was dropping one pound per day. With ab binder and ice pack, scale dropping 3 pounds each day, consistently. No need to be nervous. Just be prepared and you’ll have smooth sailing.

Danny, are you passing and stool or rectal gas now? what other surgeries or injuries have you had in the past? How does this pain compare to them? If this is the only surgery you've ever had, then this is the worst pain of your life. Understood. But compared to knee replacements, open abdominal surgeries, thoracic surgery, or severe fractures, laproscopic surgery is pretty mild. After 5 days, the surgical gas pain should be resolved. There will be incisional pain, especially when trying to get out of bed or doing twisting type movements. There will be deeper pain in specific spots with the same kind of movements. That is all normal. Your pain meds should be helping. As stated before, take the pain meds BEFORE the pain reaches a high point. Use a firm small pillow to brace your belly when you stand, cough, get out of bed or a chair, or even walk. And walk you must. Walk, walk, walk. Sip your fluids. That's all you have to do right now. Each day should be getting a little better by this point.

    I'm feeling AMAZING.
I've hit 198 as of yesterday so I decided to treat myself by going and buying some new clothes and some brand names even 😀
I managed to find the smallest size I could fit into and I was shocked.
Thought I'd share my latest progress photo for everyone.
I've come along way from 322-198 has taken me 4.5 months so far.
    Please be kind 😀
I know I've gotta start really working out soon so I'm picking up a rowing machine next week which that should help a lot with my stomach area..
I really hope I can get down to 180-185
    Thankyouuu.
    MIKEY.

I am ready. On day five of 1 week liquid diet and I have lost 12 lbs since starting it (I probably lost a couple of pounds sweating the Chiefs win yesterday) . Lots of ups and downs for energy, but hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. Two more days left. My surgery is at 7:30 am on Thursday and I have to be there at 5:30 am. Been getting up early and going to bed early so I can be well rested.

Hey all! I am frustrated! Can you tell by the title of my post? Lol! I had surgery on 4/9/19 and although I am down 71lbs, I have been stalled for 3 months now! I've only lost 6lbs since October. I'm not sure what is going on. I will say, back in April of 2017, I did have a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy so maybe my hormones are all over the place. I need advice BAD. Has anyone experienced this long of a stall? If so, how did you come out of it? I am grateful for this tool and am trying to get all I can out of it. HELP!

Here is BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) calculator which shows your daily caloric needs based on your height and weight. Not sure if it would be any different for WLS folk, but it will at least give you and idea of where you are at. For me an 80 lbs weight loss means my BMR is 500 calories a day less than when I started.

Had VSG on Jan 6 at NYU Tisch. Best decision of my life. Things I wish I had known before surgery...abdominal binder will help tremendously with bloating and swelling, as well as making it not so painful to cough or sneeze. Child’s sippy cup is the best way to sip slowly and completely eliminated the reflux I was feeling from every sip of Water or Protein Shake. Apparently those cups are designed to reduced the amount of air taken in, and doesn’t allow too much Fluid, but you really do need to sip constantly and stay hydrated. Walk walk walk beginning the day of surgery. You won’t feel like getting up to walk but once you do it, you feel great. GasX will help tremendously so get it in advance. I take 2 or 3 per day and it really does provide relief. If you have trouble sleeping-take your own pillow to the hospital because all hospitals have cheap pillows that flatten and I couldn’t get comfortable. Good luck!! The first week is the toughest but if you’re prepared, it will be so much easier.

Uomograsso reacted to Fatboyslim1 in 3 Month Stall. WTF?!
It is entirely possible that you have not "stalled"' you have "stopped". You have hit a daily caloric intake that no longer causes you to lose weight.
Among other things, you are 80 lbs lighter than when you started so your daily caloric burn is LESS than it was when you started. Think of it this way: whatever you are consuming today, is what it will take for you to maintain your current weight for the rest of your life. That's a good thing!
First - congratulations on losing close to 80 lbs.
Second - don't consume any more per day that you have been for the last 3 months.
Third - get a bit more exercise (enjoy your new self)
Fourth - try to cut back a little bit on calories (500 per day less would give you a lb per week)
Give it a try, and see what happens
    luck!
