Update: 238.8 lbs (weigh-n at PCP)
Most exciting part of the visit: My doctor smiled at me (usually there was like a frown and a wrinkle about my labs/BP readings) and said: Oh my! Your face looks sooooo different! Yayyyyyy!
I said I would update - don't have my BMI. Might go by the gym later and do the little handheld thing they have...
Day 3 goal: Go out in an environment where there is eating and drinking and have total fun....It's what the people I know do! Walk in the morning (b/c I live in Florida and it's hot!)
Day 4 goal: Go walk! As you can tell, Day 11 after surgery and I can't seem to walk as I should!

Be patient with your body it has just went through major surgery and needs time, intermittently, to take a break and do some healing in between the times of weight loss. Stalls suck but stay on your program and the scale will start moving again. Also think of this, when you dieted on your own and quit, that was ultimately a stall right?

Depending on your age it could be a factor from a few years ago. Your surgery weight 209 would be considered low with a 36 BMI so you wont lose like a 280 and over with a 50 BMI . 16 pounds in 7 weeks is fantastic and adds up to over 2 lbs a week. The stall will pass and you will start losing again.

I absolutely agree with fluffy so many people are so fragile and can't take constructive criticism. They were told by their families for years They were healthy and look where it got them.
Maybe if someone opened your eyes sooner you wouldn't be in this predicament.
Why are people so fragile these days and can't take a little hard truth.
We're actually trying to help people see What's wrong and then make the changes.
Surgery is a privilege and needs to be taken care of. You should be ready for it.

Bullying is the incorrect word. I'm totally aggravated by the sheer number of posts crying about or lamenting the changes from this surgery and their present food situation. We all have had this amazing opportunity to change our life. And yet we're talking about nonsense. We all had to travel down and through this path. And it is HARD. It sucks. But there is beauty beyond and there is MUCH to gain by just going with the flow and dying to your baser instincts and relations with food.
My motivation in answering is not to invalidate the posters. It's to abruptly break where their brain is going. It's a wake up shout. And psychologists often say you need to have an abrupt noise or action to break a chain/cycle of downward motion.

You aren't going to be hungry for a while. Revel in it, and take this time while you're not hungry to transform your previous eating habits into healthier ones. You're fueling your body right now, so fuel it right.
Purchase a unflavored Protein Powder and add it to your yogurt to boost your Protein intake.

This is a right of passage y'all. Embrace the suck and jut get through it! It lasts ONLY a short time! These first 2 months are the time when you will LOSE THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF WEIGHT YOU WILL EVER LOSE IN 2 MONTHS. You do that because of your surgery, recovery, and the liquid diets! TY docs! You're eating 300 or so cals per day. That's HOW you lose so fast. It's not magic bean surgery. Embrace the suck! Don't advance your surgery schedule! Just do it and get over it.
Jaze! We all had to do it. It's part of living the forkin process!

My surgery was also on 7/23 so tomorrow i move to Full liquids, i.e i can finally make my own Soups without the lumps, looking forward to something flavourful other than broth, Protein Drinks and Water. Not sure if I'm allowed yoghurts, will need to call docs office.
Good news, i was holding off weighing and was surprised that i lost 10lbs since surgery. I'm happy with that.
Hows everyone else who had surgery last week doing?

Its all about taking time to research better options. Healthier options.
If you go out try eat Protein like chicken or turkey skin off. Try fish but watch the sauces.
Don't be afraid to ask the server about healthier options like gluten free or fat free options, most decent places will cater to you and your needs!
If you have a burger just take away the bun and eat the turkey burger with salad etc
You don't need to copy your friend if they continue to indulge.
You will need to watch your calories long term

Wowee 23lbs is awesome! I totally get the desire for something other than liquids but you know you made a huge decision to have surgery and have managed to come out the other side with an awesome 1st-week loss YOU CAN DO THIS. When you feel like 'cheating' just remember that even tho you may feel ok your tummy still needs to heal properly and the last thing you want is to vomit and risk causing a leak etc. You should just get on here and get some support to help you get your head back in the right place. Deciding to have surgery is a huge thing so just remind yourself of the reasons you wanted it in the first place And again, well done on an AMAZING first-week x

I have a problem drinking enough Water. I was introduced to this product and love , love it! It comes in alot of flavors online. Ive tryed lemon lime and passion fruit. costco by me now sells it. Its like drinking 2 - 3 bottles of water with just drinking one. I like the taste and drink one everyday unless im out sweating up a storm in 100 degree weather then may have 2 but it deffently helps with dehydration so u get all the Fluid your body needs. This may be over sharing but my pee was dark like orangeish brown for a few days i kept saying to my husband im lretty sure my body is dehydrated. I was hardly drinking anything id only go to the bathroom once a day and i got this and amazing how well the color changed in a few hours to clear and stayed that way ever sence i started drinking a packet every day sometimes two. Anyways just thought id share.

Hi all. I just logged on to this site for the first time in years. Yesterday I went in for my annual check-up. I skipped it last year because I was terribly ashamed of how much weight I had regained. When I hit the 5-year anniversary of my sleeve surgery, I decided it was time to face my fears and scheduled an appointment. I've gained back more than half of what I lost after my surgery. In addition to feeling terrible about it all the time, having had to buy bigger clothes because nothing fit and being embarrassed whenever I reconnect with someone I haven't seen in a couple of years, I also now have a set of bloodwork results confirming what I deeply suspected- I have already reversed some of the health benefits of my weight loss. I cried during the appointment and the (new) nurse practitioner was very kind. I was honest with her and shared that I know exactly what I am doing wrong but I continue to turn to food emotionally, eat the wrong foods, and graze. I explained that the surgery helped me initially when I felt a lot of restriction but it did not in any way change my emotional dependence on food for self-soothing. I never found alternative coping strategies that were even close to as powerful for me as emotional over-eating and numbing myself out with sugar and carbs. I told her that I have a complicated and stressful life and, in addition, I lost my beloved father unexpectedly a few years ago and he had been the greatest source of unconditional love and acceptance in my life. The dog I adopted to help me through my grief was hit by a car and died in December. I'm in perimenopause and my hormones are all screwed up. I know intellectually that food won't solve any of my problems but the desire for comfort is much stronger than my willpower. This has been my pattern my entire life. The nurse practitioner listened. She reminded me that regain is extremely common. Not sure what comes next but I appreciate the chance to share my story with all of you.
