  1. Hi Chiptress Sorry to heat you were feeling down . Ive felt a bit down for a couple of days now . Maybe it’s because we come out on a high because we’ve had it done at last , and then if we’re not getting out so much , that does it a bit? I was really interested to read about your cheese and pasta you did. I’ve been wanting to do that for ages ! Did you use ordinary light cheese or soft cheese ? What is ricotta ? Hope your spirits have lifted a bit now ,
  2. Wow !! you look great! Well done 😀

Good luck with your recovery Linda . You must have had your surgery by now . You’re going to be just fine , such exciting times ahead for you ! keep us updated . 🤗
  7. Hi Deedee, yes absolutely we should keep updating ! Hows everyone doing ? Before I had the surgery, I had a very very weak bladder , that made life quite difficult. Had to take tablets and everything . Now, It’s gone !! Don’t have to take tablets anymore , so none of the nasty side effects I used to get , and life is so much easier, plus and I got back a little bit of lost self esteem . SO looking forward to a life of no longer being overweight 😀 All the very best of luck everyone !
  8. I froze the protein shakes and made ice lollies , it’s easier to get them down sometimes I find

    Any September Sleevers?

Hi Linda . I was dreading the pre-op diet too. I couldn’t see any way on earth how i was going to do it , but was amazed how easy I found it ! I think because we have a focus and know if we don’t do it, we don’t get the surgery . I had to do it for 4 weeks instead of 2, because my surgery was cancelled at the last minute and the surgeon wanted me to stay on it . I was also worried my liver hadn’t shrunk enough because my paper work was out of date by the time I had to do it , and they’d changed so I was doing it slightly wrong it. but He told me it was the smallest liver he’d ever operated with , and it made it so easy !you do get used to it . I did the version which was 4 protein shakes and 2 cups of vegetables a day . Your programme may be different . Good luck . please keep me posted ?
  10. Thankyou Valerie .You sound as if you’ve had your surgery . How’s it going. ? I had mine on 12th.How far along are you ? All best wishes you you 💗
  11. I agree , you’re doing great Mr Sean ! Believe in yourself ! well done.
  12. The Bariactric Bible is excellent ,it covers everything about pre-op - post- op and there are some great recipes in.. £25 from Amazon . Enjoy your boiled egg ! I can’t wait for that either!
  13. Grant , this doesn’t sound right at all. I’m worried for you that you haven’t seen a surgeon.I can only repeat what others have said to you .Youve obviously put a lot of effort into this , and don’t want to cause more problems for yourself . It must be horrible to keep throwing up all the time . I hope by now you’ve seen someone and that you’re getting the right care . Please let us know how you go on . Good luck
  14. Mr sean, sounds like you’re doing great !I have never been given any kind of calorie goal , so hope I’m doing it right too! . I’m day 19 post op and have never weighed myself yet . I think i’m scared to in case I haven’t lost enough and will be disappointed! Is everyone else weighing themselves ?
  15. Hi aedez, Congratulations! you get used to the waiting time between eating and drinking . I struggled a bit but soon got used to it . I got tired of ordinary water , and now have flavoured protein water , it gives you a bit of variety and helps with the protein intake too. Also try to drink 2 cups of milk a day .I wish you a smooth post op period and speedy recovery .
  16. I hope it helps you. Mr SeanI also can feel nauseous if I’ve overdone things too. It’s not easy to just sit and rest when you feel you can do stuff ,but it pays off! I had about 2 teaspoons of tomato soup on day 7 and man did I feel ill! I think I had dumping , for the evening and all the next day . Didn’t vomit, but I sure thought I was going to . No worse feeling. Now I’m ultra careful ! Let us know how you get on . Good luck 😊
  17. Would it help you to step back a phase just for a couple of days ? It’s the hardest thing to keep sipping water continuously when you feel nauseous. I Found it slightly easier with flavoured water .

    Any September Sleevers?

The hospital said it was a first for them ! To be fair,it was really extreme heat , hottest day in History in the U.K I was told . My son said it was hotter than when he was in Australia! I think they were afraid of the surgeons passing out ! Hope your blood work and ekg went ok :-)
