Eggs..can't eat scrambled eggs. Haven't tried fried yet. Was in such utter agony from both times I have tried eggs that it will be a DANG LONG LONG LONG LONG time before I try again.
I was amazed to see ppl posting that they could eat popcorn. Having not tried as I'm still only 6 weeks after post-op, I just think of how 'hard' popcorn feels to me...but I guess, well heck, it's a carb so does it...go all soft when it is in your pouch?? Not knocking anyone for eating a carb! I'm truly fascinated as I don't trust my picky pouch and am amazed that some folks can actually eat popcorn! So weird and amazing.
Was never a huge popcorn fan either and since I'm on mostly a very low carb way of eating, I probably won't try it but my curiosity has been peaked. Just like I'm still stunned that my 'Ms. Picky Pouch' has an issue with a dang scrambled egg!

actually, most RNY'ers don't dump - they say up to 30% do, so if true, that leaves 70% of us who don't. I've never dumped, although I don't feel that great if I eat a ton of fat or sugar.

    I can't eat boiled okra.
That's about it. Everything else is wide open and A-OK!
(Oh wait! Snap! I couldn't eat it BEFORE surgery either--my whole life even--makes me hurl every time! )

I don't want to pry, but can you tell me why you can't eat those? Does it just come with the surgery? If you don't want to discuss it, no worries, I'm just trying to prepare for what may come.

Well said...and you are right about the benefits to gain. For me one of those will be being able to stand more than a few minutes without my body hurting. That will be worth giving up bread or anything else!

I have an Iron sleeve, nothing has really bothered it. Up until a few months ago, too much sugar made me nauseated & my heart race (light dumping I suppose). But even that hasn’t happened for a while now

I’m good with not having any off limit foods. It was one of the reasons I went with a VSG. It was important to me to be able to be flexible with my diet.

I too had sleeve surgery. I can tolerate most everything. However I have not taken sugar back since my sleeve surgery on May 15th. What’s the point. I don’t eat carbs cause I don’t have room. I eat Protein first then vegetable last and then have no room. I haven’t tried pizza or big quantities of sugar. I have had popcorn and that is fine. Also meat is fine too

Rice, Pasta and other high glycemic carbs. When I eat those it just sits in the pouch and makes me feel super uncomfortable and foamies. If I do a sandwich, I do multigrain bread open faced (one Slice, usually toasted).

    There's nothing I can't eat.
However, I have to be very careful about spacing out the meals and keeping the quantities small.
I had a small roast chicken dinner at a friend's yesterday, then two hours later had a tiny smidgeon of apple pie and ice cream...cue the most horrendous dumping syndrome. It's only the third time its happened, but I should have known better. I didn't want to offend my friend, who'd cooked the pie specially, but I suppose vomiting violently down her toilet was more offensive! 😲

I was just watching a YouTube who had done a lot of research and she found a website where they fight for the revisions and surgeries to be approved after they are denied. They work and get you approved. Might be something to look into. The website is www.wlsappeals.com and it is called Lindstrom Obesity Advocacy.

If someone is MO and asks me how I lost weight, I tell them I had WLS and that I'm happy to talk to them about it if they want to. My doctor suggested the surgery to me and I was extremely against it until a couple of my close friends and my massage therapist all had it with good outcomes. After talking to them a lot, I finally decided to do it. And I've been VERY happy with the decision.

... I have this almost irresistible urge to talk to them about my WLS.
At first, this was happening with some family and friends. One month after I had WLS, one of my good friends who is super-MO,had a heart attack (at the age of 45) and spent over 2 months in the hospital, had multiple surgeries and now has to wear an LVAT and will either die early or need a transplant.
I desperately wanted to talk to her and our other MO friends who I would meet at the hospital, but obviously it wasn’t the appropriate moment.

Since then as I edge ever-closer to GW, I find myself being drawn to MO and super-MO people and I want to scream at the top of my lungs that there is a way out of that living hell.
It’s also complicated by the fact that I’m a healthcare professional so I see these guys day in and day out.

I’ve had SUCH a positive experience and my life and well-being have done a complete 180 that I feel almost as if I have a personal responsibility to let anyone and everyone know about WLS.

They both give me the "foamies" where you throw up/spit up mucus and your stomach rejects the food. Steak is too dense. bread is too doughy. Can't eat them.

I had the sleeve done may 31st. Everyone has different things that work or dont work for them. Some people have alot of foods that upset there tummy and some people have none. My body hates raw tomatoes its the worst burning acid in my throat. I feel as my throats on fire! I also cant eat bread toasted or soft it hurts my tummy. Ive had alot of acid reflux and need to take prilosec or other over the counter acid reducers everyday. Slider foods go down so easy like popcorn and crackers i have to make sure to portion it out or i keep going not realizing how much i ate. Also when i make chicken my tummy is mad but i eat chicken from anywhere its fine. I think i make it to dry and my tummy wants moisture or to eat soft texture with it like mashed potatoes or sauce. Anyways hope this helps.

Really....I think I could live without ice cream, I love it but haven't had any for over a year due to diabetes. In fact, I think I could give up alot of things, I'm tired of my life revolving around what I'm going to eat next.

My arthritis had gotten so bad from decades of carrying around extra weight. I had one knee replacement about 5 years ago and the other knee was due soon, as it hurt so bad all the time. Doc told me the cartilage was nearly gone. I also had continual lower back pain. But now, after losing over 100 pounds, I HAVE NO JOINT PAIN!!!! NONE!!!!. I have not used an NSAID for 7 months (ever since surgery) and not even a Tylenol. My back pain is GONE and my knees are fine! I can do anything now - including training for a triathelon in October! I am working in a new department where I am on my feet all day long and it is fine! I do 20+ flights of stairs a day, walk at least 10,000 steps, and am starting to bike. Joints are great!
You are going to feel soooooo much better! There is no way I would go back to the old way of eating and lose this new life and new body. (It looks kind of funny, to be sure, but it sure does work a lot better than the old one!) No brainer about the trade off: junk food for a triathelon. No contest.
