The nurse gave me one the first time I got up to walk. It made a world of difference when moving around. You don't have to support your abdomen at all while moving or coughing. Those incisions may be small but they still hurt and the swelling from all the gas they put in your abd hurts too. I wore mine for about a week until the muscle soreness went away.

that is kind of odd - I didn't have any swelling at all with RNY. Maybe the hospital just routinely gives them to all surgical patients or something..

I lost 9 lbs on my pre op diet and gained 9 lbs while in the hospital. It took me about 5 days to lose that and by the end of week one I lost 3 more.

Day one post op!! Revision RNY Surgery went great yesterday. I am in zero pain. I’ve only taken IV Tylenol. Team is a little freaked with my low BP and low HR but typically this is my baseline. Discharge today after upper GI and advancement of food.

2ndTimeFreedom reacted to amaynard in Pureed Stage
So, here I am searching puréed stage because, like Brian, I am feeling good, and tolerating some purées now.
The poor guy came on here asking for some tasty foods. He didn’t say he was on here wanting a large cheese pizza or an everything bagel smothered in cream cheese, or French toast, pancakes and the like.
He simply came to a forum, that is here for people to get ideas, recipes, calms fears and rejoices in each other’s victories.
I’ve noticed a lot of being on your “high horse” recently on the forum, and it really needs to stop.
We all came here because we were fat and unhealthy. NO ONE is perfect.
DrBrian, I am 1 week and 4 days post op. I have tried Soups mostly, and can handle all of them. In fact, I had about 4oz of French onion Soup without the cheese and very little onion, and did great. I’ve also had about 2-3oz of chili.
Also, I am down 20lbs from my surgical weight today and neither of my decisions wanted me to go back to old ways of eating. I would have had the entire Soup and chili plus an entire meal before.

@LostFound21 - it was exactly 6.5 months. My insurance company required a six month supervised diet. For me this was different as it was not required the first time.
Everyone I am getting discharged today. Operation went great. Doctor did tell my husband the only reason it took a bit longer was because of the way the original surgery and anatomy placement was different that they were used to???? Then he said we simply do it different in NY. I suspect it was also because it was 10 years old also. Nonetheless I made it. Vital signed are stable. BLood pressure and heart rate are on the low side but honestly that is my norm. BP is 95/63 HR 57 — again my baseline even pre surgery. So I’m ok. Zero pain and only took IV Tylenol a few time after surgery. Up walking every two hours. I can not wait to go home today.

I am headed in for my revision surgery today. I am not sure the DS was offered to me. Instead, he is going to reduce my pouch and my stoma size. Ia m so looking forward to being in your boat with progressive weight loss after. It is great to hear you have zero complications after. How long was your revision surgery?

Wishing you a speedy recovery. I have an appointment with a surgeon closer to home August 21st. I have called to see if i can get in earlier but that was the earliest. I have to keep checking for cancellations. How long was the process to get to surgery from your first appointment?

2ndTimeFreedom got a reaction from Frustr8 in I had my Gastric Bypass reversed 😞
Oh my, dear!!! I am so sorry to see this Happy that you are indeed alive and able to tell this story. So I understand how they reconnected your original anatomy, and again I am happy that you are ok. Have you noticed any changed in what you are about to eat in terms of quantity? Additionally, you may also have the best tool (shift in eating habits) firmly established and will prayerfully continue to be healthy & happy. Many prayers to you!!

Whoa let’s step down off the judgey pedestal. The brand has 2g of sugar and was specifically recommended by my surgeons office so please calm down. As we’ve seen so many times before everyone’s surgeon has different suggestions, and lately people around here have been so quick to jump on a high horse and correct people saying they are wrong about everything from how they are feeling to what they are eating . -

CBC, urinalysis, upper GI, chest X-ray, and pulmonary test is what we had.
