My labs are awesome, feel great about it. I am almost at goal weight. Woohoo. I can’t believe it. I’m still working out about 5x a week and recently bought a new spin bike. So excited.

I just had my 6 month follow up and I have lost 51 lbs since the day of surgery. I am no longer considered obese! My BMI is 28.2. I now can start the process for my kidney transplant. Surgery date was 7/22/2020.

thanks!!! For cardio I either take peloton classes or use the elliptical for 45 minutes. I make sure I get over 10k steps at least 6x a week. I was also doing very light weight training. No more than 10lbs. Now that I am clear for everything, I am doing a lot of strength training and cutting back on cardio. Exercise helps a lot withy anxiety. Sadly a few years ago due to an injury I slowed down and gained a bunch of weight.

Hey everyone! Happy Labor Day. Hope you are all well. Just checking in. I’m heading into my week 7. So far so good. Glad I can finally begin to do some intense workouts. Still feel some pain on my left side so I will take it somewhat easy. Lol. I feel so good and loving all the NSV. So far I’ve lost 37lbs since the day of surgery.

Hi everyone! Checking in with you all and hoping you are all well. I’ve been out of the US on a mini vacation and wow it’s been a crazy time. First of all there’s not much I can eat obviously. I tried ground lean beef and chewed the heck out of it, and felt severe tightness, sooo much pain for about 20 minutes. Literally only had a bite of it. Won’t try that again. I bought eggs and my stomach loves it as well as turkey meat.

I have Been working out and lost about 7lbs during my vacation. All I can think about is how much food I would have eaten had I not had surgery. Lol. Yumm frozen margaritas with guacamole and chips on the side.

How are you all feeling ??

Had RNY 7/23/2020 down 28lbs since surgery. I am doing ok, still experiencing some sharp pains on my left side but nothing too bad. Working out daily by walking, spinning and doing youtube classes with the kiddos. My son loves it so much lol.

Happy Anniversary to the July 7th surgery pals! We did it and survived the craziest of times:) I for one have had ups, downs and some emotional trials and now know it is worth it. 34lbs down! Hitting the ones again is so close ... my next goal:) Got the good ahead to include more seafood and actually laughed about how happy that made me. What a difference one decision and learning to push myself has made. Congratulations to everyone and keep pushing especially for those with the bathroom issues bc I for one know how that is really painful.

I just want to say that I think it was deeply irresponsible of your surgeon to put THEIR expectations onto you, especially when every single bariatric patient is unique and loses weight at different rates pre and post op. For every 5 people who manage to lose 100 pounds in 6 months time, you'll find 5 people who'll lose 50 or less pounds in that same span of time. Your surgeon should have allowed YOU to set your own goals for where you hoped to be by Thanksgiving and then helped you to get there.

Hi all, my first post here! I'm a little late to the party, but I had my RnY Gastric Bypass surgery a little less than two weeks ago. After some initial discomfort due to the anesthesia I've been struggling to get my Protein Shakes down. I've fortunately been able to eat full liquids starting my second week which has been an enormous relief- I never thought I could enjoy cottage cheese with a little bit of salt so much!
I've been making an attempt to cook and prep my meals and limit canned/processed foods. My go-to's have been the aforementioned cottage cheese w/ salt and low fat greek yogurt with a homemade cherry 'jam' (cherries cooked down with a little splenda, lemon juice, Water, and blended). I also made a caramelized onion & rosemary whipped ricotta dip, which turned out to be delicious and tastes richer than it actually is.
I also attempted to make a 'mango lassi' style Protein Shake with some freeze-dried mango, greek yogurt, skim milk, and GENEPRO. It turned out to be too much for my stomach to handle, but I hope to try it again down the line...
I love food and cooking, and I also still love eating... which, in part, is how I got to my high weight. So far the surgery has helped me be satisfied with a 2 oz serving, but undoubtedly this will become more difficult for me in the future. I even saw it this week, when I was saving the best looking bite of my yogurt for last. I could have put down the yogurt a little earlier, but I wanted to finish my portion for that last bite. This is obviously a habit I want to break, so best bites first from now on.
Looking forward to reading your stories! My surgery was late in July, so a lot of you must be close to 1 month out. How's it going?

Whoop! Hope I can keep this pace going. I’m sure it’ll slow, my initial rolling seven day average was around 10-12 for the first couple weeks and it’s been hovering right around 4lbs a week since. Once I got past the low energy stage I feel like hyper-mode has been activated. No food issues. I’m capable of eating anything it seems nothing disagrees with me, just making good choices every day, and the restriction is still very high, an ounce or two depending on what it is. Ate some raw jalapeños even. I haven’t been this light since college (in the 90s). Doesn’t seem possible... wish I did this years ago.
