    First Month Average Loss

Everyone's different. With that being said, I lost 24lbs within the first month.

    Weight loss

Everyone's different, but I lost 24lbs in the first month. After that I averaged 3lbs a week, now that I'm almost 5 months out I'm at 2lbs per week which I know I could do better if I was a bit more active. I think in the end you get the results you work for. I signed up for my first half marathon in the spring so hopefully training for that will help me get to my goal and then some 😊

    I can’t date overweight people

Can we all agree he's not even cute? (Sorry that was my inner mean girl LOL!) It's great to have standards, but let's keep them realistic or else be prepared to be alone for the rest of your life. *drops mic*

    Maryland Newbie

Hey @nursekimberly89 I already had my surgery but I paid out of pocket and had it done in Mexico. I was a "healthy" fat girl with no complications so it wouldn't be covered by my insurance and I was on the BMI borderline :/
  5. @mousecat88 I will definitely try that for dinner tonight!
  6. YES! I wish I would have known this sooner. I tried scrambled eggs for breakfast and barely finished my 2oz serving and felt sick. It just didn't settle well at all. I'm trying cottage cheese now (which I hated prior to surgery) and it's surprisingly good and settling a lot better.
  7. Trust me, after trying one you'll be hooked! They are amazing and you get a much better deal at Sams than Costco

To Tell or NOT to Tell

I saw someone post once, "No one asked me the details about my weight gain or how I got there, so they don't need to know the details of my weight loss or how I'm getting there" LOL! For me only my immediate family know as well as 3 close friends.

    May 2019 Surgeries 🎉

Your fluid intake is great! I myself am struggling with fluids but nailing protein. I drink two Premier protein shakes so that's 60g of protein but even with including the 22oz of protein fluids I still cant get the 64oz. As excited as I am to eat something different I'm worried about starting pureed foods, because I feel like it'll be harder to drink the 64oz due to the whole not drinking while eating. For breakfast now i have 3oz of thinned cream of wheat and it takes me forever to finish it, and by the time I'm good to drink fluids I have to start my protein shakes.
  11. I've bought a lot of clothes from Walmart, and they are way more affordable than torrid. Not to mention some are actually cuter. Don't knock Walmart till you try it!
  12. I was just thinking the same! I'm supposed to start pureed on Thursday but I can't take it anymore, I'm going to try scrambled eggs tomorrow.
  13. Can't wait to weigh myself tomorrow! I'm trying my best to stick to the once a week method although its a bit difficult because I'm so curious!

    Has anyone used baby food?

I literally laughed out loud! I'd much rather season and puree my own meat.
  15. I used the preop phase to ease people into the fact that I'm making lifestyle changes. So I told them that I was trying to lose weight by replacing two meals with high protein shakes and having a low carb dinner. I also bought a 64oz water bottle and have been toting around non stop. Since I had my surgery in Mexico I said I was going to visit family with my parents (my step dad is Mexican and his family lives in Tijuana) couldn't be more perfect. While I was there I made sure everyone took plenty pictures of food as well as tourist sites so I could post them on my social media to make things seem more normal. Now that I'm back no one has noticed too much of the weight loss, the few that have I just keep advertising my protein shakes and exercising my will power when they bring in food for employees. I saw someone post once, "No one asked me the details about my weight gain or how I got there, so they don't need to know the details of my weight loss or how I'm getting there" LOL!
