apiane got a reaction from Orchids&Dragons in Fitting in all my favorite foods
My sister is amazing. Last night she sent me before and after pics of a friend of hers who had the sleeve a year ago, said just in case I needed some motivation. She's also taking my husband and I to the hospital (have to check in at 5:30am) since my husband doesn't drive (medical issues) and picking me up whenever I'm discharged. She's taking good care of me.

apiane got a reaction from GreenTealael in Fitting in all my favorite foods
On the eve eve of starting my liquid diet, I'm trying to get in those foods that I love. I'm having sushi, miso Soup, and a crab rangoon for lunch (Lunch special). Don't know what for dinner and daytime tomorrow, but tomorrow night my sister is cooking me a feast! Lemon chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, and my fav, green bean casserole (she's a doll). What other foods do you think I should try to get in (before people get testy, I'm still eating smaller portions because I've completely changed my diet)? Anything you were sad you didn't get a last taste of?

apiane got a reaction from rs in Anti depressants
Okay glad your doctor told you to take them because my psychiatrist said most likely my meds will change very little due to surgery because most dosages are not based on weight.

apiane reacted to FluffySaysForkIt! in 2 weeks post op- and I have a head cold- HELP!
You could try freezing a Protein Shake into small popsicles or small little chips. Might help your throat and go down a bit easier. Hope you feel better!

apiane reacted to Orchids&Dragons in Vintage threads thread
This thread is to show off those "old" clothes that you couldn't part with but never thought you could fit into again. My contribution is this concert tee that I got in 1975! It's snug, but I'm in it!

Yep I think it's now known as Noodles World Kitchen. It's a fast casual Pasta place.

At Noodles & Co you can make any item with Zoodles, even if it's not one of the advertised combos. There's a small upcharge.

apiane reacted to TheRealMeIsHere! in How many have had insurance cover PS?
Mine did!
Search your ins. site for 'criteria for panniculectomy' (typically, this is the only procedure ins. will cover)
If you have a doctor that has been following you for problems due to excess skin. Take the list of criteria to them. Have that dr write the referral & necessity of the procedure. Make sure they touch on as many ins. criteria they can.
I went to pain management as I have many physical issues. He wrote a referral, touching on all the points ins. was looking for.
Took that to plastic surgeon, who took pics & wrote her own prior approval request. That was sent, as well as letter from pain management. I also wrote my own letter stating the co-morbidities that were resolved with weight loss, how crucial exercise is to maintenance & keeping those co-morbidities gone, and how the pannis was impacting my limited options for exercise.
I was SHOCKED, when I got a letter that not only was the panniculectomy approved, but also abdominoplasy!!
Keep in mind, insurance companies want to save as much money as possible. Convince them that, in the long run, it is more cost effective to do skin removal than pay for treatment for co-morbidities, infections, etc......
