apiane got a reaction from gwoodgm in I'm so excited about... Protien powder???
My husband just surprised me and ordered the Starter pack from Unjury so I can try all of their Protein powders. It's scary how excited I am! But I'm ready to see what will work for me on my liquid diet, and for protein after! I feel like this is a step that will get me to my next appointment. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Being able to get out of the tub without feeling like I'm going to fall and break bones each time. And being in the tub without my stomach sticking out of the Water.

I would like to thank... literally nobody but myself because I am the one who accomplished this!

And this is before the skin removal so who knows what I will end up being. I am also still actively losing so I am not at equilibrium yet. Interested to see where this will go....

Yeah just ask the insurance coordinator at your surgeon's office. They are a WEALTH of knowledge!

apiane got a reaction from Frustr8 in Tell me something good :)
Just a plug for the sleeve and Type 2 Diabetes. Within 1 month of surgery, my A1C went from 8.5 (diabetic) to 5.2 (not even close to pre). I had lost 25 lbs. So it doesn't have to be the bypass. I only have a little under 100 lbs to lose, so the fact that you have 180 lbs to lose I might lean towards the bypass, but I think both will work for you. And I'm with you, I found the sleeve much less invasive, even WITH them getting rid of 85% of my stomach. Just food for thought.

apiane got a reaction from KarenLR75 in So what are you unable to eat now?
I'm so gun shy. I don't think I'm going to try to eat an egg until Thanksgiving when I know there will be deviled eggs. I'll try one. But I don't like feeling sick. I haven't thrown up yet and I don't plan to lol.

I can't eat scrambled eggs either! And I'm so sad because I love eggs. But I ate them two breakfasts in a row, did not overeat or eat to fast, and was HORRIBLY NAUSEOUS after! Went back to greek yogurt and was fine.

apiane got a reaction from FluffyChix in Pre op diet and cheating
Not that I think cheating is good... but I stuck to my (more restrictive) pre op diet religiously, and my liver was still big. They had to use a bigger tool and I ended up with two more incisions, but they were able to do it. Luckily my surgeon believed me that I stuck to my diet. I was really disappointed about it.

apiane got a reaction from Krimsonbutterflies in Any August 2019 people out there?
My surgical clearance is done! I have all of the prescriptions I'm going to need after surgery and I'm just waiting to hear from the hospital about scheduling my seminar and blood work. And to boot I lost 1.5 lbs! I'm so ready!

Welcome! The time will go by and you'll be all ready to go! Most people have to do 6 months of a supervised diet so you're actually better off. But we all get through it together. You'll be fine!
