I say grow up and get over your vegetable phobia. Everyone who has surgery has to adapt.

Please don't beat yourself up, Clair!! Whoever told you the weight would "fall off" is SO wrong!! Nothing happens overnight. The pounds didn't load on overnight, They're not going to leave overnight.
Congratulations on your 2 years sobriety! It's not an easy feat. You did that! You can do this!!

I never liked raw veggies, & not a lot of cooked oned either.
I add baby spinach to my smoothies.
Spinach leaves,
Almond milk, or yoghurt, sometimes a little frozen fruit.
Sometimes some Protein flavoring (from the Bariatric Pal Store).
It's all good. You don't taste the spinach.

Hi, Claire! Hugs to you. Please don't feel overwhelmed and depressed. Your body just went through makor surgery and some folks get depressed as an after effect of general anesthesia. Give your body time to adjust. Youre doing great. I'm almost 9 months post bypass and have lost 101 pounds form my highest pre surgery weight. If I can do it, you can too! Slow and steady wins the race. Not a sprint. Chin up and keep up the good work. You're awesome!

Hey everyone. My name is Claire and I'm 29, I recently had my lap-band removed and converted to the gastric sleeve. I had my surgery on 12/4/2019 so I'm almost 2 full weeks out. I've experienced a number of emotions since the surgery but most prevalent at the moment is depression. I feel so sad and so overwhelmed with how much weight I have to lose. After the lap-band I lost over 100lbs, my lowest weight was 154. I managed to gain over 200lbs within the last 5 years, where my alcoholism and addiction became increasingly problematic until I got sober 2 years ago.
I'm impatient and I want the weight to "fall off" like everyone told me it would. All of the comments from friends and family like "you're going to lose weight so fast, you'll look so great" were nice before the surgery, but now I find myself feeling pressure and unsatisfied with my progress in 2 weeks. I've lost 22lbs since surgery. I'll have my 2 week post-op appointment tomorrow.
I'm following my post-op diet and have been drinking plenty of Water, Protein Shakes, some yogurt, and some thinned Soups. I eat less than 400 calories a day.
Logically, I know that 22lbs in 2 weeks is great but I still feel so depressed and discouraged. I'm not sure what's going on with me. I know I have to make lifestyle changes to lose weight and keep it off, I've done it before and I know I can do it again but for whatever reason my brain is telling me that I'm going to fail this time. It's scary. Just looking for some support or advice from others.

Ok for those of you who love Soup and are leaning towards liquids time to buy yourself base! I have been using this commercial product even prior to WLS - As a chef this is the best you can get, the product is good and you will be happy! I just ordered this and I will tell you it will last you all year,
Hint when you buy the boxes or cans of broth they have a ton of enhancements in them and chemicals. It is not hard to make soup so use this instead - Healthy and Happy! This will make about a 55 gallon drum of soup broth.

Oh yes!! So I’ve been told. At the risk of being gross the first fart was awesome. The relief... WHEW. My surgeon caught me walking down the hallway and he literally jumped for joy. 🤣🤣 I love him.

Hey guys I made it. I was sleeved yesterday at 8am. I’m in my room. Using my spirometer and I’ve walked 4 times. Not much pain aside from gas pains.

Either is fine.
I prefer Bone Broth -- specifically, chicken Bone broth by Kitchen Basics. I love the taste. It's like roasted chicken.
They have one with Tumeric, but I didn't care for it. The plain chicken is great. The beef is fine, but chicken is my favorite.
I find it more filling/satisfying than regular broth.

I had my surgery on July 22, 2019 starting weight 353lbs as of today December 11, 2019 I'm down 101lbs. I'm so incredibly amazed by this that sometimes I find it impossible to believe especially when I look at myself in the mirror. This surgery has completely changed my life, and better yet the relationship I have with food. There was a time when I ate just for the sake of eating, if I was bored I ate, if I were happy, sad whatever I ate. And let's not leave out the sugary sodas I was literally a sodaholic I drank 6 or 7 sodas daily. And wondered why I couldn't sleep up in down through out the night using the bathroom. Well all that has changed, I have had no sugar other than what is naturally found in fruits and vegetables. I made a commitment to this process. Now I eat to live food for me now is getting what I need out of it. My new love is weird because I love to cook and find ways of what I use to cook with a twist and making it healthy for my family to enjoy. And before I forget this was the easiest surgery I've ever had. I was out of surgery for roughly an hour and my nurse was in the room having me to get up and lap the nurses desk. I was up walking every hour on the hour with only slight discomfort I found the more I walked the less pain and gas. I was in the hospital 3 days and day 2 i refused pain meds as I no longer needed them. They sent me home with Tylenol 3 that I still have all15 pills left. If your getting ready to take this journey buckle up and get ready to be amazed!
