Only my husband and children knew from beginning. Ibtold my co-workers about a week before my leave. Which they were ALL very supportive. I get it, its hard. Some ppl tend to judge and think its the "easy way out" but trust and believe there is nothing easy about this process.

Had VSG 4/15/19. HW 378 SW 319.8 CW 296.9. Down about 23 lbs in 5 weeks. Down 81 lbs since highest weight. Haven’t been in the 200’s in years so I’m super happy.

I am pretty open about it also. Most of my family and friends realized that I have worked VERY hard throughout with minimal results. If someone does not understand my decision then just be it. Weight loss surgery is a tool and is NOT easy. You still have to control your cravings and eat healthy. You still have to workout. So, the decision is yours. Also, if my journey can help someone, then why not?

yep - it meets all the recommendations of the American Society of Bariatric & Metabolic Surgeons (ASBMS). I have to take it twice a day, though (some bariatric formulated ones you only have to take once a day, I think...)

I take Centrum (or the generic equivalent - CVS and Walgreens both have generics). I took the chewable version the first couple of months, then switched over to the regular tablet.

Is that the correct surgery date on your profile? Because if so, you are only 3.5 months out, not 4.5. I know because I had my surgery the day after you, LOL! And how much have I lost? 30lbs - half as much as you! It sucks to compare yourself to others, and that way madness lies - but if you are going to insist on doing it, compare yourself to me. You are absolutely flying!! You are doing wonderfully well!

optisource post bariatric surgery chewables from Walgreens. Also Biotin, B-12, calcium citrate, D3. I like the Optisource. Some people say that are chalky, but I don't get that sensation. I tried the well known brand of chewable multi and Calcium - like little caramel squares, but they were too sweet, too flavorful, and way too much like candy. It really triggered a desire for sweets which was dangerous for me.
I have not had my 6 month blood draw yet, however, so that will really tell the story about how good my Vitamins are (and my diet).

I take fusion - try a different flavor maybe?- i have tropical which is okay adn mixed berry which is mehhh--but they're not that bad. I use the chewy Calcium by Bariatric Advantage. I also tried ProCare capsule and took it mid day and got so sick....so I will switch to those in a few weeks and try them at night.

All the chewables I tried were nasty. I was taking ProCare Now capsules - you only need 1 and if I take it at bedtime with a small snack the nausea is minimal. I'm about out of ProCare and I'm switching to Bariatric Pal One because of the better pricing. I take my chewy calciums at Breakfast lunch and dinner.

you can get capsules, but i am taking the chewables because that is what is delivered. I also dont mind them as a chewable, less likely to get nauseous if i remember and it is not meal time. The capsules i was taking from Amazon beforehand if i didnt take with food i got very nauseous every time.

I'm on the 2nd week of my pureed diet and I've really struggled with it. I keep eating food that's not pureed and I know that it's not what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm just hungry all the time and then I eat too much and hurt. I did some soul searching and realized that I can't do this to myself or I'll ruin my chance of success. So I went back to Protein Shakes even though I don't have to. Every time I thought I needed to eat I got up and moved around. I'm realizing just how much food effects every facet of my life. So instead of focusing on the food so much I'm going to focus on movement. My Dr told me that it's very important to focus on myself for the next year because I'm going to be going through a lot of physical and mental changes. And that is exactly what I'm going to do!

I’m a slow loser as well. Hang in there. It will come. I stopped following the GS community on Instagram because I was feeling like everyone else was losing faster than me. I lose 2-4 pounds and then plateau for 3-4 weeks. It’s hard but I keep reminding myself how I FEEL and don’t pay attention to the scale. I had the procedure last November and have lost a little north of 30 pounds.

    NO
frequent misconception that the day after WLS/ and days after.............
lbs keep going down and down very quickly. Not true!!
your weight will continue going down, but not as soon as you wish.
you are doing exactly what you should be doing - if you can increase walking
time period, following weight loss plan - terrific - 7 lbs, you are 2 weeks PO,
no need to worry now. you'll have plenty of time to worry later🤣
    good luck

Don't be discouraged. I am a slow loser as well, I am down 11 lbs since surgery 2 weeks ago. I was stalled for a couple of days but it is moving again. I m doing exactly what I am suppose to do, drinking my Water, eating my Protein, taking my Vitamins and walking on the treadmill. I am not hungry, and I have no cravings.
Don't give up we got this.

Farmer78! reacted to I Am Groot in PLEASE HELP. I’m 2 weeks post op with very little weight loss.
    1. Give it time. You're only 2 weeks out. Also, there's a chance you'll lose no weight at all for a few weeks (search 3 week stall). Mentally prep for it, because if slow loss is bothering you now, the stall will be a mind ****.
    2. You started at a lower BMI, so naturally, your weight lost will be slower than someone who weighs more than you.
    3. Search the board for people who started out at a similar weight. Your experience is likely more normal than you think. You may need to reset your expectations about the process.

    Good luck on your journey.
