Good news is you know what you have to do when it comes to eating. Now you just had to up your activity and continue to eat good healthy foods. Maybe look into some high intensity work outs. I know you can keep it going. This ride is not over and im sure youre more restricted then you were before surgery. Take full advantage! I love working out now. and i think it has a lot to do with my success. I know people similar to me that had the surgery and lost a lot at first and then plateau before goal because then never exercised. Use the tool while we have it and incorporate a new life style in that time. Good luck! You got this.

I'm not sure how I'm doing. I am worried that eating is a lot easier. There was so much comfort in not being able to eat a lot -- now it's up to me and that word discipline. In April, 2019, I weighed 274. On surgery day, July 15, I weighed 261. Today I weigh 205. I have only lost five pounds in the last two months. No excuses, though. I think I was relying so much on my body not being able to handle more food/beverages that I didn't work on the discipline I need to get me through these times when eating is easier. I still eat only 1/2 a plate and I eat more in the early part of the day vs the evening. I guess I have to exercise a heck of a lot more than just 2 miles on a treadmill. Encouragement?

My rather unique outfit for the day to honor and Celebrate my plastic surgeon and our 6 week post op check-up. Mrs. Frankenstein 2020 is our inside joke teasing her she gifted me with 60" of suture lines! LOL. She just loves sweets! Great local cupcake shop in town. Afterwards, met a friend for lunch at the beach. Our Atlantic ocean here is magnificent due to the Gulf stream and more shallow depths. Thought you might enjoy the view. ;]

As far as diet goes, i stuck to a good plan and for the first six months i had a Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch with a couple of Protein based "snacks" (cheese stick, a serving of jerky..etc) and then for dinner it would be some kind of meat and veggie. The weight will come off regardless. i wasnt try to do it fast, Ive just become obsessed with the gym and working out. I started crossfit two weeks after surgery and i havent stopped. I also took up running. Just ran a half marathon two sundays ago. I wanted to get a good relationship with working out because i know the honey moon phase will end and i can eat more eventually. So, i know if i continue to exercise and add good foods to my diet ill be successful in the long run. So i guess the way i did it, is by relearning the true value in food and by setting up a plan for the rest of my life. I cant believe how fast time has gone. Im loving every second of it tho. I have days where i feel down when everyone at the house is snacking or everyone at my office is celebrating with beer and pizza. But then i look in the mirror and remember i use to hate who was looking back at me. And now every time i see myself i almost chuckle a little bit. Like thats actually you dude. Where im at today was well worth skipping the cake and pizza. But dont get me wrong, once in a while you gotta try a thing or two or youll go insane. lol Find that balance and live there. SOrry for the long response.

    Everyone looking FAB as always.
Tonite I actually got dressed in something that was not work or work out clothes.
Hubs and I treated ourselves to a Thunder game.
Lol, I haven’t been to one since last April and I had already consigned all of my old Thunder gear and had nothing “official” to wear:

Anyway, I came up with this outfit out of my closet, but for sure this weekend I’m buying something for next time.

Me, too! I love the way I look and to whom I am becoming at 60, especially in contrast to my previous 40 - 50's self. Given all the dream girls and their bodies aside (of course, it is wonderful to have a worthy dose of inspiration)... As long as it does not cloud our judgment, vision and body image that we are in fact each beautiful starlets in our own right. There will always be flaws and more to find if I seek to look for them. Of course, my bat wing arm shows through my left sleeve velvet sweater! But how many times will I be posing like that? And, I have yet to begin a toning program. I am okay with imperfect. I remind my clients perfection is neurotic but we will pursue excellence. I believe my all or nothing mindset in the past helped to fuel my obesity. I will not re-engage or jeopardize how far I have come. I hope you won't either? And, having been a professional model during college and grad school - models from the agency were starving, mean, unhappy, insecure and miserable souls. My heart bleed for them. Their beauty was truly only skin deep. Beauty to me is an internal temperature that will radiate hot or cold on the exterior. Wow, I Celebrate all our unknown and yet to be discovered movie stars here on our threads. What an honor to express our fears, disappointments, frustrations, as well as our dreams, hopes and triumphs, too.

Happiest of holidays to all! Everyone is simply rockin' the season. Can't wait to see the New Years Eve garb posts! Spending Christmas vacation at a historic sea side village. We are just wearing comfy and casual all week long. Look what hubs and Bobby found for us in a downtown shoppe while I ran to get coffee. Nothing I'd wear in public BUT will make a nice PJ top don't you think? LOL. He purchased it so I could post to our group here for a chuckle (and, he got contact info should anyone might like to order one in any color or sleeve length) understanding we may all just relate to such a victory. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

This is the uniform edition of OOTD before and after style. I've been retired for 4.5 years from the police department and I recently did a photo shoot in uniform at my present weight. What made me felt really good was going through the uniform room looking for smaller uniform clothing to fit me. 😊

How did everyone do, during Thanksgiving? We went to my in laws. I am so thankful I didn't have to cook everything this year. I managed to eat a small slice of Turkey and a small slice of Ham. I had some mash potatoes and two spoon full of macaroni and cheese. I had a sliver of a piece of pumpkin pie. I figured its only one day a year. Right back to Protein protein protein!!!! I hit my 3 month stall during Nov it lasted a few weeks. Last time I was here I was 210 in the first week of Nov and had a 3week stall (UGH!!) and now finally losing again. Down to 205lbs. I am hoping now that my stall is gone I'll start dropping weight steadily again. Anywho, I hope everyone is doing well!!!

    I’m sorry that you’re hurting
    I’m sorry that you’re struggling
I am going to call you out though for lashing out very rudely.
Whether you like the advice or not, someone took time out to give a response.
Yes, maybe the wording was a bit harsh, but please take the message and go back to all of the months of physical and psychological prep that went into this.
There are many of us here from decades-long veterans to those surgeried just in the last few weeks that can help.

The first 2 weeks are the absolute worst. Your body is tired, your mind is tired and everything is dramatically different. However, I haven’t heard of a single weight loss patient who didn’t know this going in, so refer to your action plan and work the plan.

    Drink
    Protein Shakes (if possible)
    Vitamins
    Rest
Work with your NUT and bariatric clinic. They don’t disappear after surgery, they are there and want you to succeed.

For the first 8 days post-op, I “consumed” a total of 800 calories. For 8 days.
Didn’t hit a single Protein goal ANY of those days. Emailed my NUT panicked 3 times that week bc I couldn’t hold in anything thicker than Water.
Her advice was to relax and not stress too much about the protein as long as the water happened. She was right and within 2 more weeks I finally hit my first protein goal. It took me 3 weeks after surgery to do that, so you’re still good.

It won’t always be easy, but life changing measures seldom come easily.
