  1. Happiest of holidays to all! Everyone is simply rockin' the season. Can't wait to see the New Years Eve garb posts! Spending Christmas vacation at a historic sea side village. We are just wearing comfy and casual all week long. Look what hubs and Bobby found for us in a downtown shoppe while I ran to get coffee. Nothing I'd wear in public BUT will make a nice PJ top don't you think? LOL. He purchased it so I could post to our group here for a chuckle (and, he got contact info should anyone might like to order one in any color or sleeve length) understanding we may all just relate to such a victory. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  2. I have been having uncomfortable Back Spasms quite frequently. I have to take Aleeve to get rid of the pain. Any Ideas what is causing them? I also have to urinate a lot more through out the night when I sleep. I get up at least 4 times a night. Very hard to get a good night sleep.< br>Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

I am 3.5 mths post sleeve and am also having back pain. Chiropractor says week mussels and my posture and weight is distributed different with my weight loss. No pain meds for me but I am getting mesage and chiro.

  3. I started at a BMI of 40. SW was 209. I am almost 3 months out and have lost about 25 pounds. So I have lost about 33% of my excess weight. While this is a lower amount of loss it is the expected percentage for 3 mths out. It is so hard not to compare to others but there are so many factors that effect rate of loss from starting weight, gender, hight, and medical considerations. So I am averaging about 2 pounds a week. I am OK with this rate loss as long as I continue to trend down. Best of luck on your journey and remember to follow your plan, drink Water, move, and enjoy life.

  5. yes it could be contributing - but don't forget that people lose at all different rates depending on all kinds of factors. Your low starting BMI is one - you're not going to lose as fast as those of us who started off at 300+ lbs. I'm not sure what other factors you have, but there are lots of things that influence rate of weight loss - age, gender, metabolic rate, whether or not you lost a lot of weight pre-surgery, etc. Most of this is, of course, out of your control. The one thing we CAN control is whether or not we stick to our surgeon's plan. If you stick to it, the weight WILL come off, whether fast or slow. I was a slow loser from the get-go, but I was very committed to the plan and ended up losing all of my excess weight.

Thanks for words of encouragement. Very sore from procedure and Constipation. Sticking to my diet. Protein, Water, Vitamins, Fiber, stool softener, and repeat.

  6. Whether you post that pic here or not, make sure you take the pic so you can have a visual of your progress.

For example, here is a pic of me 2 weeks PO (which was 50 pounds below my HW) and a pic from the other day.
Honestly I felt like I was looking pretty good in the “before” pic because I was already so much lower.
The difference between the 2 pics is another 55 pounds is gone.

  8. Today i am 3 days post OP. I'm struggling with my liquid in take. Everything burns going down and once it hits my tummy it's very painful. Both room temp Water and Gatorade Zero are painful to drink. I do have pain at my largest incision site, I'm guessing that is where my tummy was removed. I'm praying the pain in my throat, chest and tummy subsides soon. Other than that, I'm up and moving around pretty good. Is the pain I'm having pretty much the norm for bv being 3 days out?

  9. I’m so sorry about the damage that sleep Apnoea has done to your husband .Thank you for taking the trouble to reply and share it with me . It brought it home , and you have really helped. I’m going to start using my machine properly now ,from tonight . and look into a different one if that’s what is needed. I wish you all the very best of luck on your journey too.
Wishing you the best on this journey. A year ago I had no clue about sleep apnea. I have read so many post of people who see sleep apnea as a way to qualify for their surgery. But if you have sleep apnea then it is serious and may or may not disappear quickly. I also have sleep apnea. I have my appointment next month to see if we can adjust or reduce use but I am choosing to not make those medical decisions on my own. Best of luck.

  10. Thank you so much . I didn’t know about the Bi-Pap, but I’m not falling asleep everywhere , but don’t have a lot of energy and do get tired quickly. It was diagnosed as severe - stopped breathing 37 times in an hour .Maybe Im under estimating the importance of using it .I haven’t had much follow up care since I got the CPAP. Did the hospital help you with a different mask ? or did you just have to keep buying different ones ? Sorry about all the questions .
Please take sleep apnea very very serious. My husband has severe damage to his heart because of untreated sleep apnea. He spent 3 weeks in CICU for AFIB, Flutter and Congested Heart Failure due to sleep apnea. He is 48 years old. His heart has been damaged and is functioning at a 18% rate. He did not have problems sleeping, he snored! He was not tired or fatigued. Sleep apnea is a co-morbidity because it is no joke and kills. Weight loss often improves or cures sleep apnea. People do not stop using your CPAP without having a sleep study. We did this surgery to have a better longer life. Best of luck on your journey. I hope you take the medical steps needed to have a long and healthy future.

  11. Thank you for being brave and posting your beautiful pictures. They have given me so much hope. I am one week post op from sleeve and beginning to look like a Mrs. potatoes head. My face is slimming down. I notice my wrist and feet look slimmer. And then I see the blob of my stomach. I look strange. :) I am excited about this journey but this thread has helped me keep my eye on the prize as I have my endless supply of Protein Shakes and faith that my body is doing the work. Thank you.
