april042019 got a reaction from FluffyChix in How much food should I be eating?
Yup. I was told 1/8 to 1/4 cup was recommended. I was eating 1/4 though.
I wouldn't worry about the stalls. I stalled SO much at first. It eventually worked itself out. If it doesnt in a week or two try to switch up your food a little. That's what I do and it works. But a few weeks after surgery I was stalling like crazy so don't worry!

Honestly if I were you I'd go on with the surgery and try to use their bad (maybe not bad but difficult) experiences as a lesson. Now you know if you were to have the surgery done you would have to keep up with your Iron supplements and monitor your levels! And you also know that to be successful after surgery you would have to learn how to change your lifestyle! These are great pieces of advice, I think.
I'm only about five months out and I haven't had any problems yet. I hope I never do. But I'm still always asking others about their experiences so I could know what to do and what to avoid. I don't regret my surgery at all I think it's the best thing I could've done for myself. I actually wish I had done it a lot earlier but at least I finally did get it.
You sound like you've been determined to have it done for the past few years. If you really want it I think you can definitely make it work for you!
These are just my opinions. It's up to you! ❤️

Hey! I just want to say that I recently tried the lettuce wrapped chicken tacos on the skinnylicious menu at the Cheesecake Factory and oh my god!! They are AMAZING! 250 calories for 3 tacos and they taste SOOOO good. I've already gone 4 times this week just for them!
That's all I wanna say, thanks for hearing me out!

I just noticed you had 150 as a goal weight but youre now 133...? Im 5'8 but my goal weight is 150 and I'm really wondering if I could possibly hit 130. Did you just reach goal and decide to keep going or did the weight loss just simply continue? What made you go 20 lbs below your goal?

If your insurance won't get you to see a surgeon then I'd say go to your primary care physician ASAP. If you can't keep ANYTHING at all down then probably go to the emergency room.
    This does sound very worrying.

I think most people throw up a lot after surgery and that doesn't seem to damage their pouches. I hope your doctor figures everything out!

I've only told a few close friends and my mom. My mom however, told her whole side of the family after I asked or not to. I wish I could've kept it from her from the beginning but we live together so it was pretty impossible. She told my (very critical and straight up horrible) aunt. I've been avoiding her at all costs ever since LOL. I just don't want to hear what she has to say. It bothers me enough that she even has the satisfaction of knowing.
As to other people, I agree with catwoman7. I tell them everything I'm doing (low carb, high Protein, low sugar, low calorie) without telling them about the surgery part. I already know that they don't need the surgery and won't do it so they don't really need to know.
Like AZhiker said, if someone obese that I felt were really at rock bottom and actually asking me for advice then I'd tell them. Other than that it's none of anyones business.

Hey! Congrats on getting through surgery!
I was feeling the same exact thing when I had mine. I even think I posted on here asking if something was wrong with me lol
It'll take you a while to start to feel satiety. Maybe even a few months. Even then, you never want to reach the point where you actually feel full. Start getting used to stop eating when your 1/2 cup is done. Right now 1/2 a cup might look like a really small amount to you so you feel like you should/could eat more but once you get used to that being your maximum limit, your stomach will get the memo as well and you'll start to kinda feel when it's enough for you. At least that's what's happening to me. Just don't forget to ALWAYS measure everything! In cups and not using a scale. I started out weighing everything on a scale and only after a while did I realize how different it was from a measuring cup and how much I was overeating!
I also do think your doctors guidelines are pretty different from a lot of others. At two weeks I was told to eat 1/8-1/4 cup of soft foods. When I got to being a month out I started my solid regular diet at 1/2 cup. I guess doctors are different and in the end they probably know what's better for you. But right now don't expect to feel full anytime soon and don't try to get there! I remember being hungry ALL the time and I felt like I could probably eat like I used to without even feeling the difference in restriction. I would make myself leave the house and drive around just so that I'd forget about the hunger. Eventually I got used to how little I eat and I don't feel so horrible anymore! Yay!
So don't worry it's normal and you're not alone!
    Good luck! ❤️

You need to find a surgeon that accepts your insurance immediately and have all of your documentation transferred to the new surgeon, please do that ASAP friend. Living like that is not okay. Keep us updated.
