The sugar content is high. Look for 4 grams and lower.

You can do it! Take one day at a time. This was a big ordeal (having the operation). We are still sending hunger pains, so it's o ly human that we want more solids.

2nd week since surgery. Still on Protein Shake and Soups. 400-500 callories a day. Monday schedule to see PA to start puree food.< span class="ipsEmoji">🙌. I am so ready for a change. Doing good, no meds since day of surgery. Have not been sick at all. Lost 20 # prior to surgery and 12 since surgery. Total 32 #. Already gone down size in clothes. Feeling great except getting week at times with low calorie intake. Hanging in there 👍

My surgery is May 27 today is the first day of the fast I don’t know which is worse the hunger or the nervousness that grows with each passing day plus I’m type 1 diabetic so it’s a bit tricky to fast.

Soups ARE liquids for all intents and purposes, but you need to get used to the idea of not drinking with your meals when you get to solid foods.

I am not sure if they would stretch the pouch out. I do k ow that liquid does not pass through the pouch of a sleeved patient like they do that of a bypass patient. Sleevers still have their pyloric valve intact.

My nutritionist just gave me a sample for sheet. I know when I'm full and have had to spit food out at least on occasion. I have never thrown up food. I have a terrible phobia of throwing up and will suppress that feeling.
I get the terribly loud hiccups if I eat a bit too much.
I find measuring a good thing.

Internal pain, and gas pain. Pain when you move or twist. Not incision pain. I feel sooo much better 8 days out.

I had mine done on Monday May 13th as well. I had to stay another night as I was very nauseous n couldn't drink my liquids. I was determined to get home yesterday, where I knew that I would be able to recover. I immediately was home n had the first BM n then took a 2 hour nap.

We’re surgery twins! HW: 378 SW: 319.8 CW: 300. I lost a majority of that weight the first two weeks then it stopped/slowed at weeks 3 & 4. My nutritionist said it’s normal and that my body will go into self preservation mode throughout the process due to the rapid weight loss. I can fit comfortably into clothes that were uncomfortable or unbearable to wear before and I feel good. I went from a 28-30 to 22 already. I’m super excited to see where I’ll end up. This journey can get frustrating but I can’t rely solely on the scale to measure my progress.

My surgery was on the 9th. I came home the next day. I was fearing the worst, pain wise. I ended up not needing any pain meds, other than Tylenol. I feel like I’m constantly hungry tho....

G2 may not be the best choice for a drink, as each serving of 12oz has 7g of sugar, 8g of carbs. Gatorade now has G Zero, it maybe a better alternative as it has 0 sugars and less than 1g of carbs. Another I love is Powerade Zero. Congrats on your surgery.

Surgery was on 5/13/2019 and came home yesterday from the hospital. Dr. said everything went well and no issues at all.. As soon as I came home I drank a big gulp of G2 not thinking of the ramifications of gulping. We'll I know the ramification now, straight to the sink and it is not very delightful to throw up with 85% of your stomach gone. So I got it now. Overall, feeling good but still some pain and still have some gas to get out. Popsicles, Premier Protein, broth, G2 (slowly), and Jello for the next 10days til I see my surgeon on 5/23/2019 to hopefully move on to Phase 2. But, let me tell you guy something, this ain't no joke pain wise when u wake up in recovery and you first night in the hospital. So don't think this is a joke and u will be running marathons any time soon. Just give yourself sometime to heal, that's what I am doing... Best of luck guys and if you have any questions let me know....

So I hadn't lost weight much weight in 2-3 months had been upsetting bc I was only 5 months out. I decided Monday I'm doing a reset. 3 days Clear Liquids. 4 days full liquids. 1 week soft foods.
(this is my own plan not doctor)
I am happy with the reset so far! I was 187 and day 3 I'm 183. I am getting full again and noticing a difference. I feel like I did in my 2nd month. I'm happier and more optimistic about the weight loss. I'm almost to goal 170lb I'm so excited!!!
I also found Walmart had their own brand of SMART with electrolytes. I love it!!!
Im curious how does everyone do their reset? Was it successful? Did it kick your metabolism back into gear?

Just an update. Went to my one year on Thursday. I was 271 lbs. I am almost to my vanity goal.

Most amazing was my body fat % had went from 44% to 17% in a year.

Even better, this time a year ago I took 9 pills a day for issues related to weight. Today, I take zero. Nada.

Amazing journey. I wish everyone that wants to start it the best. If you invest into it heavily you will have wonderful results!
