    Congratulations! So excited for you.
When rolling out of bed or standing up from the couch, make sure you use the furnitures available for you for support, at least for the next 2 weeks. Put your arms on the end table or elbow rest etc to cause less pain in your belly.
    sip. sip. sip.... little sips...
    Good Luck. You got this!

Back from a 5 day cruise, gained 3 pounds BUT.... I already lost all 3 pounds back again, whoooo hooooo! Boy, was I eating.. and drinking, but I was also walking A LOT! I stayed away from Cookies and cakes and carbs. I enjoyed the salad bar, such wide variety. Also I loved their omelette station in the mornings, and I ate lots of Cantaloupes, Watermelons etc. dinner time, I ate Lobster Tail, Shrimp, Sashimis and even steak. :-)
So it is possible to have fun! Have cake and eat it too!

    How is everyone doing today?
I have pulled back again and my weight is creeping slowly down again. I keep reminding myself that this is a lifetime change... There will be ebbs and flows in the weight loss. Just have to be patient and trust the process.
What is just so bizarre is the stuff in the head... I was feeling really great for a while. I felt so much slimmer and even bordering on sexy! lol. I got some new clothes and felt good. However, the last couple of weeks I've been feeling dumpy and fat again. This is all in my head. I'm still the same person I was 2 weeks ago, maybe even a bit smaller, so it's all in the head. I've also figured out (due to another thread) that my ssri isn't working as well as it should be - I've been very weepy and having some panic attacks. I don't think I'm absorbing my sertraline properly and this MUST be having an impact on my mental health and therefore my weight loss process. So I'm going to the dr on Tuesday to figure this out and maybe get on some liquid ssri.

I definitely felt weakness in the first month, but got right into a good walking routine. Now with 90+ pounds gone, I feel like super woman. I have soooo much energy. My strength is back full steam and my exercise is soooo much easier. I climb stairs, do weights, and hike. Once some significant weight comes off you will be amazed at what you will be able to do. Now when I lift 40-50 pound bags of livestock feed, I cannot believe I was carrying twice that much on my body. My joints DO NOT HURT ANYMORE! That is also amazing.
My only "tip" is to get walking right away. You can climb stairs but will not be allowed to do abdominal crunches or lift hardly anything for several weeks, at least. Please do not rush this part. A hernia is the last thing you want. The tiny cuts on the outside do not even begin to show all the work done on the inside. You must give yourself time to heal well or the set back will be worse than the original surgery. Please let your doctor know you are into heavy lifting so he/she can advise you with full knowledge of your activity level.

sounds like you're thrown yourself into maintenance. To lose weight, you'll need to cut calories. Are you measuring/weighing and logging everything you eat? I still do it religiously after four years out, because when I stop (like over the holidays), my weight starts creeping up.
I wouldn't necessarily go all the way back to liquids; most people couldn't keep that up for more than a couple of days, but DO go back to the basics - (dense) Protein first, then nonstarchy vegetables, and then, if you have room, maybe a small fruit or whole grain serving. Track your food intake for a couple of weeks and figure out how many calories it takes to maintain your weight, and then start cutting back - gradually - from that. Lower it by my maybe 100 calories every week or two until you find your "sweet spot" where you're losing weight again.

Yes, yall I STARTED at 30 BMI, paid $10,000 out of pocket, and barely got qualified. I may have only had a 30 BMI, but here is a pre-op pic for comparison. I’m only 5 feet tall so every pound felt and looked like 2.
I have horrific back problems that control my life. Plan was to get the weight off, then get these HUGE boobs off to help my back. I’m going in for another Epidural this morning. I quit my job on Friday because of my back.... I’m going to be self employed now, at least for a while. I deal with a lot of pain - every day.
The weight loss hasn’t hurt, but hasn’t helped my back pain either. However it HAS majorly helped my self esteem!

I found boiled egg at gas stations. I took some Snacks with me too. I split all of my food with my mother - portions are crazy sizes anyway. I had half a veggie burger from Burger King. Left the bread. Also had the egg (without the muffin) with cheese from McDonalds.
I drove from Denver to Las Vegas (with a stop at Moab). Can't believe how far it was!!

You know the basics... but we all need that kick in the pants every once in a while.
Track everything you put in your mouth. Drink your Water. Walk. Practice mindfulness... not just with food, but with your thoughts, with your activity, with your relationships.
Good on you for catching the bump in the road early and getting on top of it!

So, I thought "I got this"... Smooth sailing, 1-2 pounds a week?, no problem... until this week... and it's scaring the living daylight out of me. I gained 4 pounds over the weekend. I still do my usual everyday walking, plus I re-joined the gym so that's not the problem. It's the snacking late at night... Also, my coworker is having a bday this week, and I rolled some "lumpia" (filipino eggrolls) and I have tons in my freezer, ready to just get deep fried....and I'm about to throw them all soon.
I'm going to a 5 day cruise on the 4th of July too...
Please, I need some encouragement, some strong words, prayers, uplifting quotes...anything.
    Thanks...
