Yeah I don't have very much restriction and for me, chilli is a bit of a slider food. Try some firm, dense Protein, eg 4 oz of chicken breast or prawns to gauge whether you have any level of restriction. You might find you really need to concentrate on the firm protein.

Also make sure you really work on slowing your eating because the satiety signals take about twenty minutes to kick in. Then assess whether your meal has affected your hunger. If after twenty minutes or so you find you feel satisfied on firmer protein rather than softer foods like chilli, you'll know where you get the most "bang for your satiety buck"

Six weeks for me, but I have a physically demanding job and had to be cleared to be off of weight restrictions to return.
Take as long as financially feasible given your situation is my advice.

    Hi everyone!
I'm Kris. I just had the surgery (gastric bypass) on February 21.
I know that I'm going to need some support other than my family and friends, so here I am!
So far, I'm still healing, and I'm still on the full liquid diet. It's so frustrating, since everybody and their brother posts pictures of food on social media, and my fiance is back to eating real food along with the Protein Shakes. (He did the 2 weeks pre-op diet with me.) For the most part, he's been not eating in front of me, buuut it's a 1-bedroom apartment and I can smell/hear it. It doesn't help that he's a skinny guy.. probably 150 lbs soaking wet and ex-army to boot!
I'm still weak from the surgery, and my incisions still look ugly but are healing well. I'm looking at hopefully going back to work at the 2-3 week mark. My two week follow up is March 5, and I'm hoping I'll get moved to the 'much' diet then. Anything other than Protein shakes and pudding and broth would help at this point! I've been having a little difficulty with bowel movements happening, and pain from them not happening. I have yet to start going back to the gym, but we plan to soon.
Any and all advice from those who have 'been there' would be helpful at this point. I feel like I'm going crazy from craving food. Does this part get any easier?

Hi! I'm New to this app! I have surgery scheduled for March 14th. A little nervous. I'm the first surgery of the day and hoping the Dr will be as sharp as his tools lol. I'll be starting my Protein liquids diet on the 1st of the month even though they told me I didn't have to start until the 4th. I'm really excited about finding this community. I'm a very open book. I don't get offended very easily. I'm all ears and eyes right now taking in all this knowledge, experience, and points of view from the different personalities here. I'll be excited when I have something to give back to someone who is where I am now!

    From a guys Perspective
If a guy makes advances toward you then obviously you have Characteristics that he likes. Don't let your self-conscious thoughts stop you from being intimate. I have found that women that have been Bigger put a lot more effort into pleasing their partner than women that don't have to work as hard to attract a man. Honestly one of the few turn offs for me in the Bedroom is a woman that wont let her self go and enjoy the moment and instead is constantly wondering if i find her attractive. We all have body issues whenever I was in the Marines at 162lbs I still thought I was fat. I am going to give you the Ultimate thing to remember "Fake It Till You Make It" well don't Fake everything lol!!!

Hi March Bypass Buddies! My surgery was almost a year ago - March 5, 2018. I had GB RNY. I was nervous - didn't know what to expect, but determined to get healthy. Now, almost one year post-op, I am 5 pounds away from my goal (though if I stayed right where I am, I am perfectly happy). I have my eating under control - I work out 3 times per week (mostly toning and light weights) - I'm in a size 2 or 4 depending on the designer (from a size 20) and my hair is slowly growing back (I am wearing a topper in the new picture).
Pictures are worth 1000 words - so here you go!

Look forward to watching your journeys over the next year!

Jezzabelle360 reacted to KimTriesRNY in Anyone have PCOS & did gastric bypass? Also anyone loose 100 pounds within six months after surgery ?
I do not have PCOS but was able to lose over 100 pounds in six months. Amount of weight you can lose straight away will vary greatly from person to person, especially as the larger someone is it is normally easier to lose larger amounts of weight in the beginning.
It is best to not compare one person to another.
Symptoms of PCOS are usually improved with weight loss so any amount you lose before and after surgery will help you health wise.

My surgeon didn't give me a number--she just said the more I can lose the better. She also said I should try to be as active as possible leading up to the surgery. Both help reduce the risks of complications.

Yes and no. I currently weigh 377.2 lbs. at home. I carry most of my weight in my belly, and if it's too hard to get in there, they won't do the bypass. That said, I was 392 at the doctor's a couple weeks ago, and I haven't started the presurgery Optifast yet. They have me on two weeks starting 3/11.

Barb, I just noticed that our heights, current weights and goal weights are approximately the same. One difference is that I'm a man. We should compare notes on how we are doing after surgery!
