How’s everyone doing with their food phases? I’m still amazed at just how little I can eat before I’m full. Lol But at least I’ve kept all the new stuff I’m trying down. Went out to lunch with co-workers today and ended up at a BBQ place. I got only pulled pork, no sauce, and chewed plenty. It was yummy and felt a-OK! 😅Before and after shot. I picked through looking for the moistest parts. 🤣

🙋🏻♀️ Still on poo patrol! 😑 Tried the suppositories with no luck. My body WANTS to go ....I need more of a softener. 😬 But otherwise I’m doing great! 36 lbs down! Once I get this problem solved I’m sure I will drop another couple right away. Hahahaahahahaha

So you took colace along with Miralax? I’m only using miralax and about to die over here. Miserable. 😞

I’m not. Lol My NUt said as long as I chewed to purée like consistency, I was good. I’ve had chicken salad and it went down fine! But mostly doing creamed soups, mashed potatoes, that sort of thing.

I ate chicken salad and refried beans to my meals this weekend. No heaving! The chicken salad had tiny pieces of shredded chicken and I chewed, chewed, chewed. The refried beans were from Taco Bueno (we were traveling lol) and I didn’t mind the little bit of chili sauce and cheese on top at all. Haha. Both did well in my sleeve. It’s nice to have a bit of variety. I find myself getting stuck in the broth and protein rut just because it’s so dang easy/available.

Does anyone else use MyFitnessPal? I love how the progress graph shows my weight going off a cliff! 🤣🤣 Does anyone want to connect for support?

Mine is more overweight than I am, I just had the sleeve on 3/7. He’s having the DS next month!! I love that we are doing this together! 💕 -
Hang in there! They ended keeping me two nights. Lol I was ready to go home after the first night but then all of the sudden couldn’t keep water down. I agree about the gas pain. That honestly was the worst for me! It’s a process. Don’t rush your body, but do follow their suggestions on walking, etc. That will help get rid of the gas. Hang in there! 💕

Well, I had my post op today and got approval to move in to the purée stage. I haven’t had any issues with eating anything so far (blended creamy soups, thinned mashed potatoes) so I was super excited about having a scrambled egg. I chewed until hardly anything was left in my mouth. Lol About 2 mins after I finished, my mouth started watering and I felt nauseous. I went to the bathroom and did “throw up” but no eggs came out. Lol!! It wasn’t a dry heave though (sorry if this is TMI), it was honestly as if I was throwing up a lot of air that needed to get out? That’s it. And a little saliva. But no egg. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t think I will be having another one anytime soon, but glad it stayed down. lol

My old standby at work, I get a cup of hot water out of the Keurig, plop a Wyler’s bouillon cube in there, add my Genepro protein and I have a yummy chicken soup for lunch. 😆
-
I was exactly the same!! It gets so much easier. Hang in there! 🙏🏼
-
I use Genepro, it has 30 g of protein in a pretty small scoop! I found it easier to get my protein in after surgery with this vs others with only 10g/scoop. 👍🏼
-
I was the same way. I’m a week out now and am finding I can drink more than an ounce at a time so that is really helping. Lol!

@mandmom, the first couple of days was the worst for me. Mainly because of the gas pain in my chest. OMG. It will “pass”! 🤣 It is interesting hearing about the different ways everyone is feeling. I don’t think I’ve been hungry yet LOL I bet you will turn a corner in a day or so and start feeling much better! 🙏🏼❤️

Thanks! He’s a rescue. We were just fostering him but he’s SO bonded to us and is now nervous around strangers so it looks like we get to keep him! 😍 I was supposed to go back today but after showering and trying to get ready I felt faint. I’ve been going on a couple 20 min walks a day but I guess this morning was just too much. My cals are also super low so I’m working on that. Planning to go in tomorrow. 🤞🏼 No shower. 🤣

This fella is making it pretty tough to work from home 👀👀🤣🤣

That’s great! You will hit 249 before you know it (and then wave goodbye as you leave it in the dust!).
-
I weighed in at 247 this morning! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 I cannot believe I was 270 just two weeks ago at my pre op appt! Surgery weight (3/7) was 258.8. I know I won’t lose this much this fast all the time, but I will take it when I can get it! 🙏🏼 How are my other early March sleevers doing?
-
That’s great that you are getting out an about already! From what I’ve read walking is the key. Well done!
-
Woo-hoo!! Way to go! 🙌🏼

@makisue @delawarewoman please let us know how you are doing when you can! Thinking about ya! 🤗

You’ve done such a great job so far!! You will knock this out of the park! ❤️

Day 5 and feeling GREAT! I’m telling you, the gas pain sucks but once you get past that...woo-hoo! I’m not hungry at ALL though. So trying my best to get my water and protein in. One tip, my NUT suggested Unjury unflavored protein powder so I got a sample pack of that at first. It’s ok, but a lot of powder to mix in for just 10 grams of protein? No bueno. I found another brand at GNC. GENEPRO. It’s fantastic! I used it during my pre-op and it’s saving me during post op (since I can’t drink as much broth as I could before.) There are 30 g of protein in just one scoop AND the scoop is 3 x smaller than many others! It mixes great in a little lukewarm water, then I just add it to my broth or juice. Getting that much protein in a serving during the early post op days is wonderful!!

You’ve got this!!!
