    February 2019 weight loss buds

Has anyone had any issues with nausea? I'm 7 weeks out today and it has been terrible for about a week. I'm on ondansetron and it's not really helping. Any recommendations? Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

It could be dumping syndrome. Sounds like you ate too many fats at once. Avocado has a lot of fats and Mexican restaurants typically cook their refried beans with some kind of added fat (lard). It was probably too much at once. I ordered a tostada with shredded chicken and guacamole and sour cream on the side. I mostly just ate the chicken, but it was nice to be able to go out to dinner. If you're still having constipation issues, make sure to up your fluid intake, if you are dehydrated things tend to get 'stuck.' I use Natural Calm to help get things moving. I usually take it at night and by morning I'm good to go without the cramping that I got from Miralax. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm working through the same thing. Old habits die hard. I would suggest measuring out what you're eating first. Start with a quarter cup and see if you're still hungry or just 'head hungry.' I read you can tell if you're still hungry if you will drink a protein shake to satisfy your hunger versus head hunger where you usually want something specific. I have also gotten into the habit of pushing my plate away after each bite (it helps me slow down, which is my biggest issue right now). Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

What flavor did you get for the Pro Performance? Have you tried the unflavored added to water? Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm glad to hear you're doing better! I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow and I still have low energy. I ran around after my kids for less than an hour yesterday and I was totally wiped out. It gets better, but it is a slow process. Also, your throat might have something to do with the intubation? Good luck! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm 2 weeks out today and I blended 2 frozen strawberries into my premier protein. It was amazing! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

It might help with constipation. I used some Natural Calm in a small amount of warm water and it helps get things regular without cramping or discomfort. Make sure to up your water intake, that should help as well. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Last night I had an egg and it was delicious. I paced my eating, paused between bites, made sure to chew thoroughly and stopped when I felt full. But when I went to clear my plate, I ate another bite. Big mistake. It felt like my food was stuck in my chest. The feeling didn't go away for hours. I did some research and found these chewable enzymes help you break down food. Worked wonders! Just wanted to let y'all know in case you're struggling. Obviously the best thing is to stop when full, but I really didn't want to throw up. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I would try a soft scrambled egg before a boiled egg, easier on the tummy. I had my surgery the 19th and so far I haven't had many issues, but I've been making sure to chew really well and wait in between each bite. I've had yogurt, jello, very mashed cottage cheese, avocado, a soft scrambled egg, refried beans and chili (pureed in a blender) plus the broth and strained soups from the earlier stage. Take it slow and you'll get there! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

10 pounds in 15 days is still great progress! Like others stated, please don't get hung up on the number! You're making progress! Your body is in transition and right now it is probably thinking it is starving. Keep up with your fluids and protein, get moving and you will see the scale move again soon. I am on day 6. Yesterday was hard, but my husband made me get up and walk which helped a lot. My paperwork specifically said don't worry about vitamins and protein right now, do what you can without causing yourself discomfort. Make sure you are getting water though. Or I would switch to a zero cal/zero sugar water with electrolytes to help catch up. Chicken broth will probably help you restore your salt intake which made me feel much better. Make sure you walk though, small laps around the house will really make a lot of difference. Today is my first day no meds and, while still painful, it is much more manageable. Hang tough, it gets better! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Do what you can today to make your post-op life easier. The recovery is a little harder than I anticipated. Fill your pantry with protein shakes, sugar free jello, popsicles, broth, and gas-x. I cleaned my whole house the night before and put away all dishes and laundry so I wouldn't have to think about it. Anticipate being off your feet, except for short walks to relieve gas, for the next 2-3 days. Keep your head up, it does get better. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Everything I've read so far has said not to stress the amount of fluids you're getting in right now. Make sure you're drinking enough water to not get dehydrated. Do what you can without causing yourself discomfort. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Yeah I'm sipping from a cup now. But I take a full breath and exhale before I drink so I don't get in as much air. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
