Ellf got a reaction from GreenTealael in As of Yesterday, 200 lbs lost from my heaviest
Weighed myself yesterday morning, and I was 227 lbs. The weight I was that got me to start this journey to begin with was 427 lbs., almost two years ago. Sure, today I fluctuated up 4 lbs. due to Water retention from what I ate yesterday (and not having a bowel movement until after I'd eaten breakfast), but I count that as a win. For reference, I was 360 lbs on the day of my surgery, 13 months ago.

    Ellf reacted to New&Improved in 170LBS & MAINTAINING !!!
Hello everyone what a ride it has been.
I spent a year researching bariatric surgery before choosing RNY BYPASS.
my highest weight was 322lbs and I was very unhealthy and probably heading for an early grave.
    With a BMI of 43.7
now today after 7.5 months I've managed to hit 170LBS.
that's a total loss of 152lbs in 7.5 months and I think I'm done and in maintenance mode.
I've started adding more variety and carbs into my diet but still being mindful of my Weight.
I'm just so grateful for the bypass it has completely and literally changed my metabolism for the better.
Lately I have indulged here and there on a few squares of chocolate or a Mars Bar or even a cup of icecream without it affecting my weight at all.
    it's like I'm a new Man.
thank you all for your ongoing support.

I've thrown up a few times. Foamies and dry heaving until the chunk of food or whatever was stuck comes up. I had the fun experience about a month and a half out of surgery where I had food get stuck and it took two hours of vomiting every five minutes before it could actually come up.

Ellf got a reaction from GreenTealael in Foods that you Shouldn't be able to handle but can
So, almost a year out from my surgery and down about 130 lbs from surgery day (197 lbs overall), I find myself eating what I consider relatively normal now. I mean yes, there's still things that I can't eat at all, and I still eat a lot less overall than I did before. I've still found that there are things that I can handle now that in theory, I shouldn't be able to.

An example? Fun size M&Ms. I can handle a pack of these with some Protein and not have any issues. One pack of fun size M&Ms is less than 10 grams of sugar. I can also handle grapes, sushi, and a single slice of pizza. Anything more is pushing it.

My weight fluctuates day to day, but it's still on a downward trend and I'm getting good walking in with the occasional swim as exercise.

I had Thanksgiving dinner come up on me and I literally only ate things that I should have been able to handle. So believe me I understand.

Another thing that I find myself able to enjoy that I was told I probably wouldn't? Spicy food. My pouch is unbothered by spice. Even really hot things.

I had RNY 2 days ago. That 1st night after surgery was awful but it's getting better now. I've been walking around but the gas pains are still here. I feel more comfortable sitting up in recliner than laying down. I'm also having a hard time getting my fluids in. I'm really gonna push it today bcuz I don't want to have to stay I'm here any longer. Any 2/25/20 surgery twins?

If you're going to have fruits this early, I'd recommend berries and/or kiwi. These are lower sugar/glycemic index fruits.
